So this is the current state of the art in the R/C submarine hobby. Very interesting.
HMS Artful is the 3rd of the Astute Class submarines of the Royal Navy. This is a great model.

I would love one of these what's the cost in £ from absolutely nothing. Did you say 2.4GHz is that WiFi? Could it be fitted with a camera and torpedo tubes? I read the torpedo document but the battery seems to occupy where the tubes would need to go? Disappoints me a bit that you can't go deeper might need attitude feedback and depth though?
Most modern submarines are bland tubes -- but the Britt's seemed to always endow their atom-smashers with 'character'. This boat is no exception. Nice clean, practical, simple interior. Neat hull half's latching gizmo.

A little bit of clear plastic,on the trailing edge of the lower rudder, would certainly help turning performance with little cosmetic impact…… not that it really matters😎
Yes it's common for ex. by sail boat models if you want to maintain scale look with better performance... 🙂 That clear plastic is practically invisible then... 🙂

When was the Astute class of submarine renamed Artful class? I can't find anything on this topic
I can't find anything either. Bob Dimmack with OTW was insistent that I not call it Astute due to a history of issues with the boat, including a running aground and collision with a tug. I'm not an expert on this class at all. Just passing along the info!

why don't they use brushless motor?
They do, just not with this particular build.
Who knows how many amps the submarine uses?
This boat likely draws about 1A at cruise speed and maybe 3 at full throttle. Depending on how efficiently you set up your servos, they could draw up to 1A each at full stall.

Very nice Model but the old 600 Size Brushed Motor is terrible and in my opinion way to weak for this Sub....
Bruhless is the Future also in RC Subs.
