Whenever I have a non-food item with a chip (like your pumpkins) I use nail polish to touch up chips. Often, stores like W-M and Dollar Store will have those tiny nail polish bottles (meant for those who paint pictures on nails) and they are only a dollar or so, and come in a wide range of colors. So, use one or two different colors and dab them on. They are glossy and can be put on in multiple coats to disguise deeper chips. Love your channel (and your four-legged babies)!
Cut flowers will last longer if you trim the ends on a slant before adding to your vase of water, trim the ends every few days. Trim the ends at a slant for better absorption .You can change the water....when i remember i will fill a glass with tap water and let it sit a couple hours before I replace the vase water. When I get fresh roses I use the enclosed packet with water and some ice in my vase. The ice or very cold water keeps the buds and flower heads from opening too soon.
Just a tip, you can hide chips in ceramics by painting the exposed area with acrylic paint that matches the glaze and then when it dries paint on a coat or two of clear nail polish to get the shine of the glaze. For your personal use this would work great.
I’m actually watching a different video of yours but I’ve been following you for a while but have never messaged you! I absolutely love your stories, I love what a great mom you are and how sweet Noah is! You are funny with a great sense of humor, you make everything seem interesting!!!! My 85 year old mom adores you!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I’ve learned so much from you! I wish we lived closer, I know we’d be great friends! My deepest sympathies to you on the recent loss of your two birds. I’m a cat mom and I understand your heartbreak. Please know that those beautiful birds knew how much they were loved by you, you have a wonderful heart. I’m so happy to have found your channel and I look forward to following you for a long time to come!!!! May God bless you and your beautiful family 💚💚💚💚 p.s I’m originally from Ireland, now living outside Chicago!!!
Hello Danni from Modena Italy! Our weather has been unbearable this summer most days were 39 Celsius (102.2 Fahrenheit) but what’s hard to resist is when it’s 86% humidity. The last few days it’s been 29-33 C still in the 90’s. I do notice the difference at night because it tends to cool down. I can hardly wait for fall! I live in the region that’s famous for balsamic vinegar so with this heat the grapevines near my house are so full of beautiful grapes! They will be starting the “vendemmia” which will be the harvesting of the grapes also for Lambrusco. Love watching your adventures in Goodwill glad you’re able to take me along! Hugs
I’m in Sweden and the summer all two days of it it’s over! So we are welcoming the rest of 11 months of rain and wind and snow… thank you for helping me looting my little girl to bed every night she is in her room listening and I’m sitting in the sofa watching. Your voice has been a comfy thing so she is out in about 10 minuts. Thank you! ♥️🐢
Over here in England, I have noticed that the sun is rising a little later and setting a lot earlier. It is definitely cooling off and sock wearing weather is returning.
What a great haul. Love those crackle pumpkins. When I saw the brass stand, my immediate thought was I would use that as a pedestal to make a bird bath. It's perfect for that. Enjoy your videos Danni❤
It was like being in wonderland seeing you come up on all those amazing pieces! And, if you’ll allow me to put on my Therapist hat for a second, the fact that you will make a point to reunite pieces that have been separated says a lot about your character. It’s a very endearing quality to have.
Danni, I like this new format you have with telling the prices of the items you buy as you’re buying it , I think it works so much better this way, and I like your music
Danni That Multi Drawer jewely box, Frame 37:39 + . Thats nice looking the way it is, I'd leave it like it is. So many beautiful wood items are painted over, no one gets to see the real beauty of the the wood. If they want to buy it, an paint it, thats on them. To paint things is alot easyer to do, than to try an bring it back to its natural form. You found lots of nice things today !! :~)
Danni, your obsession with pumpkins....you were Cinderella in your past!!!!! 😂 More..... This trip was God's reward for your endurance of your recent hard times. Definately a gratitude moment!!! Xoxo hugs, Deb
The jewelry box of drawers, I would leave the cherry wood. But I have also seen the chests that have the drawers painted different colors and I really like those as well. I just think that cherry wood and mahogany wood are so pretty all on their own. And I would never cover them up.
That little German house originally had a man in one door and the lady in the other. It was a weather forecast based on barometric pressure. If it’s going to rain, the man comes out with his umbrella. But if it’s a sunny day ahead the woman popped out. LOL! It’s still sold today.
Nativity figure sets could be placed in low profile baskets lined with a cheap random cloth napkin or fabric remnant, wrapped with cellophane( or a tight fitted baggie). Cute safe way to display☺️
No sunflowers should last several days. Sometimes it helps to trim the stems at an angle to help them last. And always use the powder packet. Btw, loving the background music!
It’s a shame that you don’t offer the frames with glass to your buyer when you see items like that, even in bad condition, they can paint the frame with gold metallic, and it looks like gold gilding, but just save yourself time now it cost that person a lot more money to go out and buy a frame and glass and perhaps matting. I think that’s bummer just because you don’t wanna ship it like that. If a person is willing to pay to ship it that way, why not sell it that way?
I can help you with the sunflowers. I was assistant mgr of a flower shop. As far as sunflowers go, make sure they are fresh. Most flowers are shipped long distances. They usually come wrapped in a mesh cover on the heads. Before taking off the mesh, cut the stems off about an inch up at an angle. Then take a hammer, (I'm serious) and smash the ends flat, but do not destroy them, LOL. These thick and bark-like stems need to be done this way to make sure they get nutrients. Then use ice cold water with a baby aspirin and a teaspoon of bleach in the water. This will keep the algae and bacteria done. Try them again and let us know. Good Luck!
The weather in Southern part of Australia is not so cold during the day and sunny but quite cold at night. When it's raining it's much colder and it rains most of the day for a couple days. It will be spring come September, I'm looking forward to that. That was fun
Ahhh that magnolia mug is a $25 mug from magnolia by chip and Joanna gains! Highly collectible and beautiful! Also I LOVED this shopping trip and literally can’t wait for you to list some of these items! That wooden cat has my heart!!!
With proper care, sunflowers should last from six to twelve days. To maximize the vase life, look for flowers that are just starting to fully open. (according to google LOL)
About the sunflowers, you would need to recut the stems and I would put them in deep water. Sometimes you can tell if flowers are old by checking their leaves.
I've grown sunflowers for years and when fresh cut they last at the very least a week. Some varieties will wilt sooner, the smaller hybrids are grown for displaying and can last longer..
Goodwill receives many boxes and tins with see-thru tops, I would use those type boxes with some protective padding. The boxes would insure that the figures are sold together and keep them from most types of breakage.
For the nativity figures, if they bag them, they all need to be in their own bag and then put into a bigger bag. I'm in Ohio, and it was 52 at 6.30 in the morning in August, unheard of it was cold
Follow Tiffany, Thrifting Vegas’s, short upload on restoration of wood items with Food Grade wood treatment. The finished project doesn’t take too long with a profitable project when finished. We can all learn from one another. ❤😂❤😂❤
I have raised sunflowers and when the heads get full of ripen seams the heads get heavy and when cut they just drop down. The birds like them if they are truly sunflowers 🌻
I burn the cut sunflower to close the white sap from coming out and ruining the water otherwise the water goes bad fast. I grow them in the northwest part of Las Vegas. They grow great here in So.NV.
Dani Hi! Love you and Noah and your Mom and Rachel and the critters❣When I buy flowers that have a tough woody stem(such as sunflowers) I stick scissors up into the stem and twist . About 1/4 in and it creates a better water saturation situation. Hope that helps😊👍🏻❤
In Alabama the weather this week was cooler and nice outside. I have covid but I did set on the deck and drink my morning coffee but could not taste. Will be back in high 90 and 100 next week. I loved the chicken, made me laugh. The pumpkin was so different and I loved it. The small silver thing could have been for business cards for a desk. I'm guesting. Lots of great finds today.
I had this video on and I turned away to make a cup of tea and I heard ‘I’ve found poo on the shelf’ guaranteed to make me turn back fast to see what was going on !!
If they are in a box they get separated. I think I’m the one she was referring to. I worked and was the pricer at a thrift store. I’m interested in the answers
I think you should have gotten the wooden older bowl, all it needed was to apply food grade mineral oil to lightly and let set for 24 hrs then reapply until soaked in then wipe dry with a paper towel. That size sell for about $60 or more depending on the wood. Tiffany has a few examples on her channel to show start to finish.
The granny paddle brings memories of the padded, lacy paddles I used to make. Mimi had one and so did I and I sold many. Love the pumpkins and the blue stemmed wine glasses and the Rest in Grease spoon holder. I can work with homespun yarn, but not with the small needle I use for the mini turtles. OMG the guinea pig and beaver are great and the poker playing dog purse is fantastic.
I don't know if your grannies use the paddles to spank you but Latin American grannies use their flying chanclas (sandals). It will be too dangerous to give them paddles. 😅😅😅
I'm still always shocked by the sell for prices! I guess because I do my own thrift shopping and cut out the middleman, so I buy my own decor, clothes, whatever at the prices you pay. I can't imagine paying those inflated seller prices for old stuff. I have a bunch of those wooden cats and never paid over $6 for one, for instance
Perhaps GW should save or collect any shoe boxes and put the little figurines in an open top shoebox or in the shoebox lid and tape over the top of the box like they do do you can still see them but they are protected … there’s always a cool/down around the 2nd week of August. Today I’m CT my morning drive to work was 61. You had a awesome shopping day!!!
I have a pumpkin obsession too!! Not sure why. Got a nice collection of glass pumpkins and other types like ceramic and cloth too. Love your collection !!
Great haul Danni. In UK the weather has taken a bit of a dip at the min. Temperatures look ok but chilly winds win over. My fav item was the round wood cat so cute and worth a good bit.😊 I think GW should put complete sets of nativity in cardboard boxes with the price on the box stating its a set. Thankyou for vid ❤
Great finds again! The wood "box' that said "quart" is for quart-sized ziploc bags; it would probably have been in a set with others saying "gallon," "sandwich," and "snack." Have a great day! 💞💕💞
I have a pumpkin obsession too!! Not sure why. Got a nice collection of glass pumpkins and other types like ceramic and cloth too. Love your collection !!as far as nativity sets or figures. Just like the jewelry they should go in a case so those really interested will have to wait to actually hold and touch hem. They are around the same price as some of the jewelry so there is a place for them in the case. I think that would help them from being broken or switched around. ❤
1) Glue a large decorative plate on top of the brass stand to make it into a table for a variety of candles or a small place for drinks when you have company. 2) The silver oval is fora placque IT can e used for a variation if signs/pics.
That was a great trip to Goodwill. Love the pumpkins. I think the wood box that said "Quartz" was for quartz size baggie storage without the original box.
For the nativity sets, Our goodwill doesn’t have cases so using a case won’t work for all stores. Could they use a piece of hard foam and set the figurines on it largest to smallest then tape them down from the bottom of the foam up and over the tops of the heads then back over to the other side? Idk if that’d work but maybe it will spur a better idea from someone else?
Sunflowers are my favourite❤🌻 Thats not a sunflower thing at all, the grocery store probably lied claiming them to be fresh; because sunflowers always last a good while with me
Your pumpkin collection is beautiful 😍 You use large, simple, wood candle holders to use a risers for the smaller pumpkins. You need a little height to your collection 😊
Yes the dusting is a big job but I love the display. My theory is upgrade and move the lesser pumpkins on. I have to do that so things don’t overtake my house. Br
Ross was originally founded in 1950 by Morris Ross of California but the business has changed alot and "Ross Discount" was born in 1982. Btw. Sunflowers are what's called dirty flowers meaning they very fast muck up the water in the vase and don't live long because of it. To lengthen the life make a slit in the stem about and inch and a half from the bottom making the absorption of water quicker and add cut flower plant food to the water. It also helps to change the water everyday with a fresh cut.
One solution for the nativity sets. Lay them on a piece of cardboard or a cardboard tray, wrap the top tightly with a Saran Wrap type wrap. They also should note any damage that cannot be seen from the front.
I really like the way you're putting on the prices after each item. Thanks!! 😊
Whenever I have a non-food item with a chip (like your pumpkins) I use nail polish to touch up chips. If possible check the ends of the flowers before purchase. You would be able to tell if the flowers were fresh cut or not.
I think this was my favorite shopping trip with you Danni. I would have loved those pumpkins as well !

I speak French and yes! You said that right! :) Thank you for your videos. I love watching them!

I just love you and your videos. I learn something new everytime I watch you. Thankyou
Display the Nativity figures in the jewelry case.❤
Here in South Carolina, it's still hot days, but starting to cool off at night. My favorite time of year!
Noah, keep up the great work with the music. Love it!

@charlotte… what a great idea.
Ok this would take time and in this business time is money we have a quota
Those windchimes would compete with the vacuums at goodwill!😂😉
So happy to see you happy Danni. This shopping trip was fruitful and fun.
I vote for Dansk business card holder also. Great finds! I love love love the pumpkins
No sunflowers should last several days. Sometimes it helps to trim the stems at an angle to help them last. And always use the powder packet. Btw, loving the background music!

The Dansk item could be a business card holder.
Or a name plaque holder on a desk, or for board members, etc.
@@darialacy2151 or fancy dinner name plates
I was thinking a cardboard portrait as well.
I came to say the exact same thing!
I think the Dansk is a place card holder for a fancy dinner?

Love the different color pumpkins in your kitchen
I've grown sunflowers for years and when fresh cut they last at the very least a week. Some varieties will wilt sooner, the smaller hybrids are grown for displaying and can last longer..
I liked the scratched up bowl just like it was. Tiffany can tell you she made a video on it.😊
I think I would put the Nativity sets in the glass up front so they don’t get broke or separated just a suggestion I love the stand you got to 🦋
Goodwill receives many boxes and tins with see-thru tops, I would use those type boxes with some protective padding. The boxes would insure that the figures are sold together and keep them from most types of breakage.
LOVE THE CAT, & two purses. All great stuff, great trip. ❤❤

Cool pumpkin collection!
Certain parts of England don’t feel like we have Summer anymore. It’s raining cool or overcast
Tbe bumps on the pumpkins is called bittersweet.
I have raised sunflowers and when the heads get full of ripen seams the heads get heavy and when cut they just drop down. The birds like them if they are truly sunflowers 🌻
A jam jar ! Love the paddle !!! Yes please on the kitty cat !!!
Easily for Goodwill. Nativity Figures in separate bags all clipped together with one price.

I think you should have gotten the wooden older bowl, all it needed was to apply food grade mineral oil to lightly and let set for 24 hrs then reapply until soaked in then wipe dry with a paper towel. I can't imagine paying those inflated seller prices for old stuff. I have a bunch of those wooden cats and never paid over $6 for one, for instance
Thrift stores are also a middleman. Try looking on the marketplace free sites, or garage sales, then the thrift store will seem expensive 😂
OH my gosh! You make thrifting so much fun and easy. Wish I lived in LV!
Price them by the each, and use the bottom of the jewelry case to display them, or some other small glass hutch where you can lock them up.

It also helps to change the water everyday with a fresh cut.
