I was listening to mostly electronic music, but for the first match, I was listening to "Big Thangs Poppin" by T.I. for those wondering lol
after watching u play pikachu and young link i've become a big fan it gives more variety to the match ups ya know it's better than seeing marth and fox all the time i play yL and pikachu too i've never been good enough to enter any tournaments tho, thanks for representing.

Young Links don't put the bomb on the ground as trap. They put the bomb on the ground because they pull a second bomb, throw it and pick up the one on the ground and throw. (Picking up a bomb on the ground is faster than pulling a new one) it takes some set up, but it allows you to throw two bombs in quick succession

I've been playing Young Link ever since I was a kid, and now I'm gonna try to start learning to play competitively, and I'm definitely going to main Young Link. This video is going to help a lot. Axe is now my new inspiration
If you like young link, look up armada's young link, he's really good too

RockinBananaGaming Axe's YL is so aggressive that it might not be a good way to learn. Armada is very defensive but also is the most fundamentally sound YL. I agree, learn from Armada.

+BFF Channel the main reason I dislike SM4SH, I don't mind the fact it hasn't got the same mechanics, if I want a competitive game I play melee. But if i am drunk, thats when I wish Ylink was in SM4SH.
+Sam Harris Toon link was also in brawl.

+BFF Channel I believe Toon Link replaced Young Link because Toon Links game was more recent. They couldn't find a use for Young Link anymore, is my guess. And before you bring up the remakes, WW got a remake as well. Although they were very stupid to not make Young Link an alternate costume in Smash 4. It would have been a super easy way to appease both Young and Toon Link.

Props to characters that are unorthodox/harder.
Axe doesn't play yl because he's harder lol, he's said before that he actually considers yl peach a good matchup.
The man is playing to win with this character.
YL is good against floaty characters i:e samus, peach, puff (of course) but he gets wrecked by spacies and shiek, even if you are as good as axe is with YL it's still a steep hill to climb to make him truly viable, he isn't hard to be good with, he's hard to win with
MacD's change in mood between character picks and the middle of the first game is night and day. He goes from "this is an easy win, lol he's going YL?" to "am I really going to get beat by a secondary low tier?"
Really annoying how he keeps saying its an armada ylink. That is "not" an armada ylink. Axe plays his super fast and isn't reliant on his projectiles near as much. They play completely differently/

I don't normally watch Melee, just because I got tired of seeing the same characters over and over, but this match was refreshing :)

i do the same exact thing. i wish i could see stuff like mario vs. peach or link vs. samus. i'd be more fun to watch

Axe is my man. He is so techy and overall, a really great player. MacD is pretty good too. He really found some good times to use the down smash.

Great match! I love how versatile Young Link's hook shot is! It's so cool! SSB4 can learn so much from Melee! Take Melee's speed and versatility and make it your own SSB4!

YL has been my main since the game came out tbh. Glad to see other people realize his skill. Hes actually a great player to use and if you master the projectiles you are set, hes hard to use but that makes it better.

Oscar forgot to mention the main use of bomb dropping on platforms; it's to hopefully have the opponent try and pick it up, therefore giving them more space, wasting their invincibility, etc.
According to Axe and Taj (who does it with Link), the real reason is because pulling a bomb takes too long, compared to just picking it up. It's faster to pull and drop it while the opponent respawns/recovers, then you can pull a second bomb and throw both really fast.
This needs to come out on Wii U.

Quick question. Why don't people use young link's up B on the ground? It's a pretty good punish. Is it easily punishable?
There were a good bit of Link mains in the old days who would up b out of shield a loooot, so people learned how to pressure the shield safely enough to not get caught by that.
Links up b OoS is still great. The reason young link players don't do it is because you can smash DI out of it so not all of the hits will land thus allowing the opponent to punish you. It's not a good option.

you can edge cancel his down smash, and a bomb thrown down will lead into it. try to incorporate wave dashing into your natural movements

Peach is a pretty high tier character, and MacD isn't a shitty player either. At the very least, this kinda shows that he can be used as a counterpick for some matchups. I know what you mean, though. It'd be great if he could compete with the likes of Fox/Falco and Sheik
