A great piece of songwriting, and hauntingly magnificent vocals from Russell. Difficult to pull off as there is no hiding behind other instruments. He shows brilliant control, and to my ears at least, his pitch is practically flawless. And no technology to bail him out in those days. The bridge is ever so hard to do with that tricky chord change as well. A shame this wasn’t developed more from demo, but at least this morsel of brilliance has been saved for us mere mortals to admire

@@annabackman3028 well, you definitely missed something there. As a woman I have sensed this kind of melancholia and loneliness when I come across shallow women who only care about their looks. I think it is not about how "men treat women", it's about superficial women and feeling dissapointed.
