The five best violin pieces. 1. The Bach Chaccone. 2. The Bach Chaccone. 3. The Bach Chaccone. 4. The Bach Chaccone. 5. The Bach Chaccone. There's just no piece that comes near it. It's raw grief as a tone poem and I love it.
I would dearly love to see a full performance of him doing it at this age. His younger performance was of course amazing, but I felt like when he was giving a masterclass on the piece, he gave it more room to breath and speak than he did when younger, and I'd love to hear how that would be now for him to play it!!
Heavenly. Such a privilege to to watch. How dare you tube put adds throughout! Interrupting the actual performance. What has our world become. Shame you tube, shame on you.
this needs more views... my gosh, what a masterpiece and a true lesson! Maxim, stop playing with my emotions like this, sir!!! 🥺🥰 That Bach was flawless... full of grief.
This is literally my everything. Like this is like almost nostalgic for some reason seeing Vengerov playing all his favorite pieces, many of which you can hear his evolution playing pieces he’s played since he was a child, and Vengerov continues to not cease to amaze me with how he’s,able to keep improving. It’s really his heart in the music. Like the heart the keeps beating and gives life, and which he has given his to be able to have such a gorgeous and mature technique and sound!
Maestro thank you! Thank you! I really appreciate your technique, your phrasing, your vibrato, your emotion. And I thank you for the history lessons on these pieces as well
Love watching these great artists talking about their favorite music. I was at Carnegie to experience Mr. Vengerov playing Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole with Gergiev for the season opening. That was an amazing night. His 5 favorite pieces are very diverse and well balanced. Beautiful and heartfelt performances.
What it's great when you are a violinist yourself is you don't have to choose your 5 favourite pieces to take with you on an island : just take your violin with you and play all the pieces you like 😁.
Besides the great music and performance, I like to see that his violin has different strings in each video. He's still searching the ideal sound. I like also seeing he using a baroque bow.
Gracias Maxim bravo!
Fantastic video. I’m feeling that, with age, their might be even more depth of emotion to Vengerov’s musicianship these days. Also, to me, this rendition of the Shostakovich cadenza (recorded a few years ago I guess) might even eclipse (or at least rivals) the legendary Oistrakh version.
*Jules Massenet - Thaïs Meditation* is the beautifully work ever written. Congratulation ! 💐 Maestro Maxim Vengerov played this work also in Milano (September 2020) with Filarmonica della Scala and Riccardo Chailly.
15:15 Wow! Maxim Vengerov displaying his viola prowess! I believe either Peter Greiner or Samuel Zygmuntowicz made that viola. It could be someone else of course, as Vengerov likes to collect instruments. It could of course be a genuine Andrea Guarneri but the sound just isn't quite hitting me that way.
last part of carry on loving plays the violin for the wedding reception, that is the one of tuneful violin piece but do not know the name????till no one or nobody has played that as yet!!!!
you had the great Maestro Vengerov read off a prompter and play next to a TV on a white cut background ? really people ?! I find this to be such a disgrace from Classic FM ! I mean this could have easily been the most amazing video ever, after all it's his most beloved pieces and all other videos from Classic FM are well done and in beautiful settings... you really messed this one up.. Also PS: I, and mostly everyone, would have much preferred to hear Vengerov talk about these pieces personally, rather than reading that Wiki cutout on the prompter, you could have easily pasted that as text for us to read ourselves and let the man talk from his heart, since he picked these pieces to begin with, he surely has a more personal connection to them than some random critics' review that you guys came up with. ..
The five best violin pieces.
1. The Bach Chaccone.
2. The Bach Chaccone.
3. The Bach Chaccone.
4. The Bach Chaccone.
5. The Bach Chaccone.

agree
Vengerov and Ysaye 3 are a match made in heaven
so true. shostakovich too
i was thinking of that
I would dearly love to see a full performance of him doing it at this age. 5. 17:45 • Shostakovich - Violin Concerto No. 1
Thank you
Excellent, thank you!
Thank you
Thank you, thank you very much!
Violin concerto cadenza by the way
I can listen to Vengerov talking about and elaborating on music pieces non-stop just as much as I can hear him playing the pieces
That's always the case for me (when you have a great performer) I don't know what I like better; playing the music or talking about the music
Maxim Vengerov's vids are the best - pls more!
yes. always waiting
Am I the only one who loves his verbal introductions about as much as his performances?
I really liked how he used a baroque bow for Bach but a modern bow for the rest of the pieces!
!Bravo! Vengerov. From Spain.
Heavenly. Such a privilege to to watch. How dare you tube put adds throughout! Interrupting the actual performance. What has our world become. Shame you tube, shame on you.
Maxim playing Ysaye and Shostakovich in one video--love it! Thanks ClassicFM!
April 7 is my birthday and I could not receive a better present, Grazie Maestro Maxim
It is a pleasure to listen to this level of the spoken common language while used to describe such magnificent human expressions.
His solo performances are like that, and he is funny too.
this needs more views... my gosh, what a masterpiece and a true lesson! Maxim, stop playing with my emotions like this, sir!!! 🥺🥰
That Bach was flawless... full of grief.
Oh My, what a treasure! So lucky hearing this 🌹

I need to go practice right now! Absolutely beautiful ❤️🥰🥰
Mulțumesc, f frumos.

Vengerov’s Ysaÿe is just 🧎🏻♀️✨
Besides the great music and performance, I like to see that his violin has different strings in each video. He's still searching the ideal sound. I like also seeing he using a baroque bow.

Maestro Maxim Vengerov played this work also in Milano (September 2020) with Filarmonica della Scala and Riccardo Chailly.
It has become one of my favorite pieces
Can you host Midori next? She's also extraordinary. I love these videos.
Watch the best of all times
Thanks for the list!!
Die Chaconne ist ein wunderschön sanftes Stück. Das andere ist jedenfalls ebenfalls sehr schwierig
Great video!
Wow
It’s amazing!
Love your video.
I would bring the Chaconne, and the Brahms violin sonatas to the island.
Two set must react to this
👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Someone: Which r the 4 violin pieces that u would play if they were the only ones that u could?
Me: the online 4 pieces that I can play hahaha
M⁰ Vengerov, any tip for ricochet like in Paganini's first Caprice?
That YSAYE THOUGH
Maxim, you disappoint me!
Where is Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in d major? :D
عالی
07:18 is Yasaye is awesome
Around 8:15 - As he said with Brett, you’re not playing it right if you don’t break a few hairs
👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏

I think I just found the Ysayë guy🙃
Vengerov + viola 😳 = 15:14
I would really like to know whether Maxim voted for Chloe.
Wish he would talk about his violin and bow.
Surprised Beethoven Concerto isn't on the list
I love Bach Chaconne and Thaïs Meditation
👍👏👏
He plays the viola?!
My dream iz becoming one day a violinist
last part of carry on loving plays the violin for the wedding reception, that is the one of tuneful violin piece but do not know the name????till no one or nobody has played that as yet!!!!
