Despite the injury crisis last season. Our defensive record wasn’t the primary issue. It was the fact we don’t create chances. That’s what ETH needs to fix this season and most likely why INEOS didn’t give him a new contract but extended his current one on different terms.
Creating scoring chances also comes with a settled defence. People seem to have forgotten but all great managers start building a team from the back. It was the first thing Guardiola did after he spent one season at City. Changed the whole back five.
I think with the amount of shots we had against us the defensive record is the number one problem then build on that
