- Hello!
Welcome to my channel!
Here I introduce myself, along with my ideas and intentions for the channel, including my exclusive interviews and chats with John Blanche and Tuomas Pirinen.
Big thanks to Harry and Ronan who assisted with the filming on the day with John and Tuomas.

I want to thank you for preserving the memory of incredible people who inspired me to pursue my profession. Giving these legends the opportunity to speak was invaluable. Thank you once again.
No big deal, the Golden Age GW crew are just my gaming buds.
In the first video, John describes himself as an archivist. I think what you are recording is very important as there is so little about John himself out there, considering what an influential artist he is. Every grinning half-moon is owed to this guy.
Imagine sending out a humble message looking for an obscure game tutorial and a legend of the hobby from a past age responds. That's awesome.
Just want to add my thanks along with everyone else's here for doing these videos. Its absolutely fantastic to sit and hear about these games that we love from the incredible creators that have brought us all so much joy over the years. Please keep the videos coming for as long as you can get people to sit and chat, its wonderful. it's now got me digging out all the old games to see if I can get my kids interested, so thank you.
These videos are going to be so important to so many people - they certainly are to me.
Can’t thank you enough!
Mate, thank you. These videos are fantastic.
Amazing, imagine wanting to learn a game and ending up playing someone like John Blanche. Incredible! You’re a lucky dude!
Good luck! Crazy story on how you met John, nice to see that he still has passion for the hobby and especially the heart to teach some unknown person the game, that's very nice. As a Finn, Tuomas Pirinen has always been a bit of an hero for me, back in the end of the 90s it was always unbelievable to see a Finn on the pages of WD or listed as one of the creators of army books and especially Mordheim and 6th ed Warhammer - that was very unusual, you didn't see really almost any Finns in a "global context" back then. Can't wait for the recording!
Yeah, I couldn't believe it at the time. The really nice thing about it all is being able to move past "being a fan" and becoming a friend instead. I can imagine what you mean with the "global context Finn" comment! Tuomas and I had been chatting online a little after John introduced us and honestly meeting him on the day it was just as if we were old friends almost. No awkward pauses or like uncertainty you know? He was so cool about everything and genuinely happy to be hanging out with us all!
Wishing this guy good luck is like hoping a millionaire hits the lottery.
The internet is full of people who can’t get a game of Mordheim in (Aka me) …he makes a single(?) post looking for an opponent…and suddenly Jon Blanch and Tuomos are part of his campaign?
Good stuff man. 🤩
Looking forward to more videos.
@@TheJankmaster I don't disagree, he certainly hit a kind of jackpot! I was wishing him good luck with this channel, seems like it's going very well with him getting Rick Priestley for an interview too. Great stuff. :)
@@Ethnarches i understand, and wish him likewise. Just commenting how awesome it was to get the response he did.
In our little nook, this feels like movie material. Lol
You should be commended for taking the initiative to do this. Subscribed. Looking forward to more.
You're a legend mate thanks for doing all of these vids :)
Saw the Blanche/Pirinen interview out of nowhere on the front page and immediately subbed to your channel. Great interviews and I'd love to see more content! Maybe have John interview you about your Chaos Dwarf army hehe 😁
This is fantastic! Thanks for doing this.
Great videos, didn't get into the miniatures and painting till about 2 years ago, still havnt played a game of killteam but have always been a fan of the lore and of the Dan Abnett books both fantasy and 40k. Also the mmo Age of Reckoning from Mythic got me hooked into the ip as well as the Dawn of War 40k series.
Hurrah for Nottingham!
Good luck mate!
Ready for more!
great army
Thy its really nice seeing those videos! Especially in our time, in which everything is commercialized to the max. Seeing people who are just passionate about something without agenda of looking cool or being successful.
The quality of youtube videos is also decreasing due to making money- every video has to be funny, hast to have certain fast cuts and at best its 10 minutes long.
I started with 2nd edition 40k and i played the 10th edition 2-3 times now. I dont know if its just nostalgia but the new edition is just not for me. i really prefer skirmish games with a lot of focus on detail in its strategy.
i started a project to collect minis from AOS to play Advanced Hero Quest. i am still painting collecting and thinking about own quests, though i rarely have enough time to play the game. I wish i would find some people who also worship old GW games!
Cant wait to see more!
Looking forward to seeing what you're working on!
Fantastic!
What a great story, thank you for sharing.
Wonderful story how you met John, I’m so looking forward to all the videos!
Great to see how far you have come from your start of collecting chorfs!
Thanks for doing this. So great to hear John talking about his art in an unforced, informal way.
Thanks for putting this together, mate. Look forward to seeing your Chaos Dwarfs growing Tom!
Great story! Thank you for capturing this stuff, it's so great to hear the people themselves talk about it in this way.
Thanks !
Great stuff Tom

I'm really excited to see th result of your work! John is a legend and has influenced so many people. Thanks!
Cheers! I'm really excited to get it uploaded. Its pretty much the first time on video John has spoken about his art in this way I think, so really can't wait to share it.
Looking forward to more, I’ve been loving all your work on Instagram!
Ah thats good to hear! :D Thank you!
I found your channel in a thread on Reddit about Bryan Ansells death and watched your interview with Rick Priestley. Absolutely phenomal work and it was profoundly interesting hearing about the history of the games from the people who wrote them. I hope that you can continue your work and you have earned a sub!
Really hyped. Cheers mate
Cheers mate!!

Thank you for your videos!
ps. Tuomas Pirinen lives nearby to me :D. Gotta ask him to play next time I see him, that would force me to finnish my Mordheim warband which I started 15 years ago.
Tom, kindle release part 2 of the Rick Priestley interview pretty ricky-ticky-tock... Or we're going to have a problem!
Subscribed 😊
Thanks dude!
Хорошее начинание, Том ✌ очень интересно
Thanks!
nice shirt ! Reverend Bizarre best trad doom band ever :)
Your doing the Emperor Proud. the history from the perspective of the creators is a nice look behind the curtain. as an old gamer now, i started in 3rd ed with 40K but i was already a battle tech guy before that. i stayed with it till 8th edition, but i really hate where the game has gone. as the recent interview (as of this post) with Rick pointed out the people making the game now are doing it more as a board game or card game not as the wargame background he came from. that is why i helped build a local group that went back to playing 40K in what i consider the golden age-mostly 3rd-5th edition. i also am a sucker for warhammer fantasy 6th edition as well.
Looking forward to the vids, thank you for creating the channel to share them!
Cheers Kieran! Need to get a game in soon!
