UPDATE: Our dots have been buffed and our rotation has changed (again). Will be making an update video soon but tldr you wanna replace wrath gcds with dot maintenance. It's around a 30 dps increase with good rotation and moonkin form is now very important to not drop (luckily we can now cast all our utility in form now).
Do you think it’s worth taking wild growth over Sunfire on later fights then? Surely the extra benefit of off healing is worth more than the minimal damage gain from moving unless you’re trying to parse in the first three weeks for some reason. Also, is there any merit to casting one wrath before StarFire to bait a Natures Grace proc for the star fire cast? It used to be that we used natures grace on StarFire, so I’m wondering if we still want to try and game it the same way
Good questions. I'm newbie here on balance druid. I also want to ask what cat and bear abilities I can just remove from action bars, cuz I have everything and is quite a mess but I see them not using anything, so if you or kylechermak can help me would be great
it doesnt really matter which spells get nature's grace. all that matters is that you can fit 3 spells between each starsurge and NG helps make that smooth. Wild growth is definitely a viable option if its ever needed it helps a ton but it is highly mana intensive so you will most likely not be able to dps effectively. also hurts on any fight with movement as you will have to moonfire which is considerably worse than sunfire.
each form should have its own bar, unless you're using macros on your caster bar then take off all your feral abilities and use them on your cat/bear specific bars.
I mean I think we warranted the nerf but the problem is there are still tons of classes with insane burst (rogues lol) and with our new hardcast playstyle its gonna be rough until things change. @@caicai.angola
Yeah if you are struggling on heals having that versatility is still nice. Sunfire is still useful on mobile fights of which there are a few in gnomeregan.
ive been an avid balance druid player in vanilla up until wrath, and all throughout classic, and NOW in SoD - this last week or two in SoD has been total chaos and ive been all over the place, very happy to finally have some of my questions answered after blizzard was flip-flopping all over the place with our rotations!
Does Nature's grace effect the rotation at all? Is there any benefit to prioritizing wrath vs starfire, or it doesn't make any difference since you have to cast either in the time starsurge is off CD?
@@ItsAutoTV wowhead has Nature's grace reducing the GCD on wrath as well down to 1.0s. So I ultimately think it doesn't matter since you are casting the same 4 spells within the 6 second CD of Starsurge, maybe 1 or 2 of those spells get a boosted cast time with NGs. The one exception would be if you got all 3 spells with NG, highly unlikely I believe, in that case you could technically fit in an extra Starfire.
PvP isn't as straightforward, you still need to get off starfires to actually do good damage but vs any class with a kick it might be worth baiting the kick with wrath casts or waiting for a natures grace proc to get a short cast time on starfire. Otherwise try and kite using your instants and offheal with wildgrowth. Im not the biggest fan of moonkin form in pvp.
So, what exactly is the point of the solar eclipse bubbles? They’re tracking the stacks of wrath crit chance right? If you’re doing the rotation correctly won’t you always have the correct amount of stacks? I am confused on their purpose.

Hi, I want to propose a rotation which for me could be optimal if u want cast second starfire beetween Starsurge CD. Starfire (pre pull) ->Starsurge->Starfire->Wrath if critical strike you gain NG on next cast after first WRATH hit target so second WRATH do not benefit NG so you can cast STARFIRE before starsurge. Example with first WRATH critical : Starfire ( prepull)->Starsurge->Starfire-> Wrath ( critical)->Wrath->Starfire->Starsurge. Example with first WRATH no critical : Starfire ( prepull)->Starsurge->Starfire-> Wrath ( no critical)->Wrath-Starsurge. Sorry for my english :)

And bring alot of mana pots. In pvp druids dmg output is very poor, and the only rune worth casting, and to justify our place in the group (WG) cost 500mana....

sir I need to know your thoughts on latest patch Lifebloom mana cost reduced by 50%. Developers’ notes: Lifebloom refunds half its new base mana cost per stack when it expires or is dispelled. This part has always functioned in this way, and we’ve seen a bit of confusion around how the mana return portion of Lifebloom functions. Living Seed now heals for 50% of the critical heal that planted the seed (was 30%). This heal now blooms from non-periodic healing received, in addition to any damage taken. Nourish mana cost reduced by 27%. Moonkin Form now also reduces the mana cost of Moonfire by 50% and increases Moonfire periodic damage by 50%. Sunfire also benefits from this change. I think moonkin form needs a buff, give just us double aura for 6% crit like hunters lion, and reduce mana cost while in form like spriests shadowform buff
Starfire crit rate vs starsurge crit rate is 30% difference so it won’t be the same 😂 the pvp output in comparison to the other classes is laughable. The season was about trying new stuff yet they shoved the Druid in the same cataclysm situation and rotation, nothing new. They could have just retouched the pvp side of the spell without touching the pve but it’s too much work I guess 😂

I wish they did that and made lunar also give 30% crit would really help on pvp and pve making us see more starfirecrits and more starsurges crits, because doing 200damage on 3k health oneshoting classes is kinda not even worth pressing just heal and run.
Yeah the rotation before the starsurge change was to maintain your solar eclipse stacks by starfiring only when you needed to refresh stacks. It was a bit more dynamic and required some thought. now you starfire so much that you will never run out.
@@ItsAutoTVyes but i do not only account for pve situations pvp is also part of class balancing and keeping that in mind u rarely cast starfires in pvp so you really do run out of solar stacks, and again, 200 damage starsurge kinda feels really sub compared to what other classes do. Also the dopamine o seeing those fat crits is why i think lunar should be totally changed. also sunfire should be changed, I don't mind not using moonfire its not a rune ability.
I’d like to try eclipse in its original state where it adds crit to both wrath and starfire. It would also be nice if they made starsurge both arcane and nature (similar to frostfire bolt) so that it could also benefit from the 20% debuff.
The rotation definitely feels more clunky without the high critrate however I think a more pressing issue is our dots just severely underperforming compared to our Hardcasts.

Hurricane is worth it on 6 targets or more. Otherwise its kinda rough, mana wise it's probably best to just continue doing your single target rotation and tab target.
I don't mind them getting us to use Starfire in our rotation, but at the expense of Sun/Moonfire feels bad. Will probably run Wild Growth -again- just because its such a strong utility heal
True, or just had it like starsurge worked in further expansions where it was a spender of resources you generate through other spells. Then it can justify the high burst but only after building up to it.
I dont know. I dont like the idea to start a fight with a "no boosted" long cast starfire. Looks weird. I start with starsurge, cast a 2 sek starfire with bonus dmg.

So long story short druid is garbage and will continue to be lowest dps and will still get destroyed in PVP. Getting solo'd by pets doesnt feel good..........
Please...look at Starsurge read the bottom part of skill. It benefits from all effects for wrath so after a starfire you get next 2 x wraths gives you 30% crit chance. So only use one wrath and save one for starsurge you get the 30% crit chance on the starsurge also. So you should be opening starsurge - starfire because starsurge is instant to follow up an 80% buffed starfire , then put up your Sunfire and moonfire and starsurge will be up rdy again and you have got 2x extra crit chance use starsurge for 1 and then wrath for the next one. Both will have 30% more crit chance if you get a crit proc you have speed cast for your next starfire then use starsurge and wrath again which will be quick casts and both having 30% crit chance again, this means you'll pretty much always have the extra crit up for both wrath and starsurge and also with decent crit chance you'll also be casting your Starfire and wraths fast.

Bis list will be out soon yeah. Still working out stat weights with the slight buff to starfire coming with the reset.
In a raid utility aspect, it’s probably not worth using sunfite. May as well put wild growth on our gloves and use it for spot healing

I'm running gnomer without boomkin, it's pretty useless IMO. At least at this stage of the game wild growth comes in clutch more than anything.

nature's grace allows you to fit the starfire and 2 wraths in between starsurges otherwise you will have to wait on globals.

yeah start the fight in moonkin form and then if you have to drop form its not worth going back if you risk running oom.

Irradiated is only good for pve and risky. the 2/1 set is more versatile for other content and barely worse.

Starsurge benefits from the 30% crit as well, it gets effects from things that buff wrath and starfire.

you can change the load settings to load while alive and not just in combat, but it should always display while in combat

Right now there's not much reason to track stacks but it was big before the changes. Definitely not as required of a weakaura right now.

Starsurge and starfire are higher damage per global with the changes. so its best to use them on cd

Yeah making both starfire and starsurge astral damage which is both would be great.

Yeah we are currently struggling across the board but we have some starfire buffs coming on reset.
if you are getting solo'd by pets you should bind more buttons than starsurge.
They nerf this but not Arcane surge?
Please...look at Starsurge read the bottom part of skill.
It benefits from all effects for wrath so after a starfire you get next 2 x wraths gives you 30% crit chance. So only use one wrath and save one for starsurge you get the 30% crit chance on the starsurge also.
So you should be opening starsurge - starfire because starsurge is instant to follow up an 80% buffed starfire , then put up your Sunfire and moonfire and starsurge will be up rdy again and you have got 2x extra crit chance use starsurge for 1 and then wrath for the next one. Both will have 30% more crit chance if you get a crit proc you have speed cast for your next starfire then use starsurge and wrath again which will be quick casts and both having 30% crit chance again, this means you'll pretty much always have the extra crit up for both wrath and starsurge and also with decent crit chance you'll also be casting your Starfire and wraths fast.
