Before Studio Ghibli, Both Miyazaki and Takahata worked at the infamous Toei Animation, the same company best known for Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Sailor Moon. But way back in the 60's and 70's, they worked on classic animes such as Gegege No Kitaro, Lupin the Third, Heidi of the Alps, and Sherlock Hound, they even directed some of the episodes, including this particular show, Rest in Piece Takahata.

i listened to all the openings before i started watching the show and this one is by far my favorite. the 2007 version is a close 2nd. idk why but this one’s creepy vibes, plus the singer’s voice are why i love it
