- Hi Guys & Gals :)
This is part 2 in this series and there's more to come. It shows how I quickly clean my Intex 26669EG QS1200 Krystal Clear Saltwater System in just a few minutes. I don't just drop everything into a bucket of Vinegar and let it sit for a couple of hours, I clean the electrodes quick and easy with simple pipe cleaners or Fuzzy Sticks that we bought at the grocery store while using just a little bit of vinegar just to start softening the calcium. This was supposed to be showing how I vacuum the pool, but since the Saltwater System kicked out, we cleaned it first, so the next video will be showing the Automatic pool Vac doing its thing...
There's more to come :)

Was going to buy a new salt system and your video saved me $200 bucks! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this Reed, will be firing up my new system and pool this week...fantastic video!...subbed
Thank you for showing how to do this. Really appreciate it.
You don't have to clean the electrodes by hand. Just take a cup of vinegar (20%), put it in the microwave for a minute and put the electrode into it. Everything on the electrode will dissolve in less than 10 minutes. As a rule of thumb you can say, that chemical reactions double in speed with every 10°C added.
@@CC-xh3eo Thanks 😎🍻👍👍
Nice video! Way better than the instruction manual tells me to do. Greetings from Holland🇳🇱
Thanks 😍😃😄
Reed, we are getting Code 90, low pressure. Can you please assist? Thank you!!!
Tilt it up and make sure all of the air is out of the system and put the dialectric grease on the connections. If it keeps coming on after cleaning the probes then you will probably need a new probe from Intex.
Do you have any tips/advice for the red service light? Not sure what is causing this
@@ScaryGameDeveloper It depends on which light. I have another video on this in the playlist 😎🍻👍👍
I'm getting a 22' Monday and a intex 2800gph sand pump. I'm gonna order an intex saltwater. It's it worth the extra for the ozone model?
I love my set up. I also have the S3000 pump now.
YES omfg yes, yes it is
Hi there from Germany,
thanks for this video.
question: why Do they Tell me ua have to backwash avout 3-4Minutes and you dont? if i would backwash that long, my pool would be empty. 7500liters.
i Do as long as i have enough water before skimmer is empty. about 50 sek.. but thats still alot of water.
Need to know how to set self cleaning mode on saltwater system and do you run pump at the same time?
Just hold down the button, then it starts blinking, push again, then set it for the shortest cycle for best results
@@ReedLukens thank you
@@ReedLukenswhen is the routine for self clean?
@@dazeinnn Set it to self clean on the shortest cycle. You will still need to clean it yourself but only every couple of months or more depending on your pump gpm. The faster the water, the more calcium it removes everytime it reverses itself. I run it with an Intex S3000 pump now & clean it myself a few times a year.
Add some dielectric grease to the plugs. It'll stop that.
Thank you
Why take the one hose off?
Just to drain the water away from my work area 😃
👍🏻
This is not the channel for the self cleaning. Enough said.
It does self clean... but it still needs maintenance every month or so. The self cleaning prolongs the maintenance out a few weeks, but it really depends on your water... We have softener soft water but still minerals.
Here are a few expressions about doing things quickly or easily, so as not to offend the womenfolk with "wham bam thank you maam" 1. Faster than the blink of an eye 2. No muss no fuss 3. Gone faster than a watermelon in the hands of Gallagher 4. Faster than the wife can spend it (that last one might defeat the purpose, though).
