Guys can you please add the TMNT cartoon movie Turtles Forever, it is such a love letter to the franchise at that point in time with some really cool throwbacks 🙏🏻
This Movie Is the Most Quotable Movie in My Life. I was Rewinding the VCR Tape Till It Got Ruined, I Have The Blu-Rays now the Nostalgia of this Movie NEVER Runs Out For Me Lol
At 34:30 Tim asks why all the computers are this cream color. WELL TIM... that’s called The Beige Box design. Back in the day IBM wanted their computers to blend into everything or not draw attention to themselves. They were work terminals or word processors at MOST. Since everyone in the 80s was basically just trying to prove themselves to be as good as IBM they all copied this minimalist design aesthetic. It wasn’t until the mid 90s that companies started experimenting with different case colors and Apple was always at the forefront of this. You can see in the movie Hackers that most of them are using Apple laptops which are all sorts of different colors... hell Zero Cool’s laptop is CLEAR. Apple sold a clear laptop before the iMac was even a thing (tho very rare). When Apple made the iMac the best selling home computer in the early 2000s other companies started to get brave. So if you have an aesthetically pleasing computer, thank Apple.
1:00:00 the suits being used on those covers is not the Jim Henson suits. They’re the All Effects Company suits which you’ll see soon in TMNT III (sometimes called Turtles in Time although that’s actually just the video game title for TMNT IV). You can tell by looking under the masks. There are slits where the performers are looking out. They did this instead of having the performers look out of the mouth like in previous films because their mouth tech was nowhere near as good as Jim Henson’s work. This was also shortly after Henson’s death and the company’s future was up in the air.
I'm legitimately a big fan of Vanilla Ice. "Rollin' In My 5.0" was another Ice Man hit, but I regularly listen to at least 5 other tracks. I fully acknowledge how bizarre this is.
My earliest memory of this film is going to an Albertson’s grocery store with my mom and renting it from a tiny video section in the store. Probably rented it about 40 times
45:00 The Ralph Nader joke. At the time Ralph Nader’s big thing was safe consumer products. He actually rose to fame for writing a book about how the American automotive industry was making unsafe cars. Seatbelts weren’t a thing yet, and they were putting race style performance features into consumer cars that made them less safe for the average driver. This carried over to workplace safety and more... so Mikey commenting on the ropes being sturdy is actually pretty fuckin funny if you know the guy. And if you’re say... 15-20 years old at the time, you’d probably be aware of his legacy. Seatbelts and workplace safety are so normal to anyone our age (anyone under 50) that we barely even know his legacy. Also Ralph Nader was EARLY on legalization of Marijuana so of COURSE Mikey knows all about him.. HAHA #420Turtles
I was 6 in 1990 and I always enjoyed the gritty/darker undertones of the 1st movie the most. I still liked this 2nd movie but I also remember being slightly disappointed with it compared to the 1st.
Another Awesome review! Please consider including the animate special “Turtles Forever” as the final TMNT review video. It makes a lot of sense for this series :)
I think I understand why people love this movie. It's everything the cartoon was and a bit more ridiculous situations. It's the same way people love the 66 batman series/movie. The issue here is that everyone doesn't know these movies don't do the source material justice, are fans of the cartoon series and if that's all you know, then you enjoy them. If they knew the series dark roots/inspiration from Frank millers daredevil, then of course they'd think it's an abomination. What they don't understand is that we got the equivalent of 89 batman in their first outing, sure it's a bit different and they added a bit of the cartoon series but it's more faithful. It's why true TMNT fans love the original so much more
I have read the originals comics first, then the cartoon, plus every other incarnation sense. They are all good in their own way (also all are bad in some way to) and just because the comic was darker to start the franchisor doesn't make this movie an abomination.
God, I can't listen to you guys talking about these movies. What the heck are you even talking about? "This one is a lot better than the first one, still not good though" - whaaat?? I mean, I love this movie, but the first one is definitely better, and not just better, that first movie is the best thing that ever came out of the franchise. I just can't...
The first one had a better story but the second one had more consistent theme and characters. While I agree the first one is a much better movie, the second one better nails the cheesy, kids show vibe that they wanted
Teenage Mutant ___ga Turtles by itreal85 reaction please. Parts 1-11 it's an internet legend and just as important to the turtles mythos as Turtles III.... probably seen by more ppl than that film as well....I know it's risque but we will love u for it
When I remember back to the TMNT movies, I recall the original movie, and have fond memories of it, including the packed cinema I saw it in opening weekend and everyone having fun watching the movie. I must have watched the original a number of times after that, as I recall the movie quite well. I had a blast last week watching it again. Yes, I can see some faults in it, but I enjoyed it. This movie, watching it again, I barely remember this movie, and I think I know why. This movie was bad, I recon I must have seen it in the movie when it came out, didn’t like it much, and never saw it again. Watching it again, it was hard to watch. A lot of stupid stuff going on, and I lost interest in it pretty quick. I really didn’t like the monsters that they did. I’m watching it thinking, why did they put this in and not Bebop and Rocksteady. What the fuck are these dumb things. The Vanilla Ice thing in the end, silly funny, but dumb. And that final fight with Shredder, turns into a super Shredder with bigger armour from drinking the ooze, transforms instantly, while the other transformations took way longer, and then just stupidly buries his own grave. Watching it again really reminded me why I remembered so little of it, I tried to erase it from my memory cuz of how bad it was. I was around 15 years old when this came out, so maybe I was over the kiddie cartoon sort of stuff that people say this one tailored more to, who knows. Yes, they go into the individual characters of the turtles more. But the whole movie and story to me was just crap. Love the original movie way more than this, this movie was a tough one to sit through.
Man the intro to this movie is literally happiness overload. Show that to anyone and I guarantee you get a smile.
Andy’s point about wanting the characters done justice is why I love the TMNT animated movie

Absolutely!!!
46:00 Splinter shooting a bow and arrow is very on brand considering that was the weapon his toy came with.

49:45 - Fun fact: David Warner also voiced one of Batman’s greatest enemies in Batman: The Animated Series, Ra’d al Ghul!

48:44 - 49:00
Look at Tim's face of descent as Nick jumps from funny quip to personal hell XD I love it
My favorite movie growing up!
My earliest memory of this film is going to an Albertson’s grocery store with my mom and renting it from a tiny video section in the store. Probably rented it about 40 times
Again, Nick is a national treasure.
As a kid, number 2 is the one I always watched. But looking back, Number 1 is probably the best Turtle movie.

It's always so funny to see 90s hacking. The absolute most that Donnie could have been doing was typing command inputs.

I fucking love Nick. I died at the rap in the beginning
I don't know what it says about me that I enjoy watching these grown ass people talk about kids movies but I'm here for it. 👍👍
What a great episode of in review, mark this one as another classic
Movie Cool as Ice should have been added to this review series as canon back story for character of Vanilla Ice
Did they do part 3? I can't find it.
Judith Hoag will forever be the best April. The actress who played April in II, although a good actress, seemed too Hollywood for the cast.
Hell yes! This is the Uncle Nick energy I need right now.
You guys HAVE to review Cool as Ice.
Vanilla Ice’s movie. It is the pinnacle of 90s so bad it’s good.
Another Awesome review! Please consider including the animate special “Turtles Forever” as the final TMNT review video. It makes a lot of sense for this series :)
Wait, the original April actress was cut out because she stood up for the stunt team??? That's fucked up.
How does this video only have less than 5000 views so far... lol. In Review is the best!
I cannot believe they ranked this where they did lol
I'm gonna ooze boys
You guys are insane if you think this one is better than the first
do they even like Ninja Turtles?
Is the 3rd ep just not coming or…
This is the VHS that got me through alot of car trips
This is literally a flawless movie
False: It ends
So when are we getting Friends in Review?

@@aots16 thanks for confirming! Be well friend
You guys are awesome
44:03 Shredda?
I know Michael Jai White is in one of these movies as a foot soldier
He’s in the first movie in an outdoor scene with Sam Rockwell

I love this movie but I’m not gonna call it a GOOD movie
The first one had a better story but the second one had more consistent theme and characters. While I agree the first one is a much better movie, the second one better nails the cheesy, kids show vibe that they wanted
The current IDW comic is actually by far the best TMNT thing in the franchise
Teenage Mutant ___ga Turtles by itreal85 reaction please. Parts 1-11 it's an internet legend and just as important to the turtles mythos as Turtles III.... probably seen by more ppl than that film as well....I know it's risque but we will love u for it
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
