This was the perfect video for me. All my smashes were all either hitting net or hitting the floor in my side. This brought to light the solution to not only my problem but many others. Thanks coach!
Finally, I found someone who is explaining on this high clear drop. It can be quite threatening at times especially when it reaches very close to the baseline and you wonder whether it is going to go out take it or leave it. This is something I had learn in school, not many armatures know about this, neither are thought about what to do with the shot. most who tried to smash thinking its easy , missed it totally. After a few tries, they eventually return it as clear. If you dare, depending on your opponent strength, I had used this as service in doubles play when I am getting no where or under pressure, not getting any better, loosing points after points. I just simply changed my tactic and try to change the game hoping to get my opponent off. It works. My opponents thought they could easy kill it, got caught and after a few tries, they simply return for me to smash it down.
Really love how he tell that it is also a great advantage to shot a very high underclear to attackers. As an amateur, I was really struggling with trying to keep the shuttlecock lower from higher level opponents due to the risk of taking their smash but I learned that varying high heights can off balance an attacker.
Very important topic for sure! Relevant info for both defending and attacking. Wait longer, and a smaller jump usually is more successful if you're an intermediate player.
I got the same problem. All I do is do a stick smash, to me it only require a snap of wrist and fingers so it is easier to coordinate than a jump power smash for those lifts. Please do more videos on this topic.😊
imagine if the shuttle drop point is the back base line, do i need to smash or slice/drop it? which will be the better option? assuming its a man double match
This is a very usual problem for us, amateurs. I only played doubles so far, so I always expected low serves. This year I started to play singles and everyone is using high forehand serve - I lost every match 3:0 cuz I smashed all high serves and got tired quickly. My smash is good but inconsistent. What is the best return to make my opponent move? Any quick tips, coach?
Simple. You already know the answer. Send the shuttlecock to an empty spot on the court. The most important thing is clear. You need to practice strokes so that you can send them to both corners of the court at any time. Singles players' rackets are stiff. This is because accurate control is their core competitiveness.

very helpful tips for us amateurs, i always wondered why my smash seems off whenever i hit from very high clear
that's good option, too

We must remember that singles players' underclear services are not easily countered. :-)
Thanks
thank you so much :-)
Coach Han teaching the important things that no other coach ever teaches or people talk about 😁❤️❤️
We felt guilty if we didn't smash a very high shuttlecock. But it was a stupid action. :-)
@@full-swing Yes!! We get greedy and want to impress with a super big powerful new world record speed smash that will impress Coach Han 😂
So, is that smash worth 3 points? :-)

Haha. I think so too 😀 thanks
Wow! Thats so fast! Thank you for posting
you're welcome :-)
Très bonne analyse, vivement la suite coach 😉👍
Merci 🥲
It should also be noted that in case of a high clear the shuttle will be falling FASTER which can mess up the timing further.
that's right :-)
Perfectly explained thanks
you're welcome~!

Can we hit a smash in a high lift without jumping? Can we hit it till it comes to our reach? How to improve the speed in smash in high lift shuttle
Sangat bermanfaat sekali👍👍
Terima kasih!🙂
Terimakasih coach...

You better clear it back, your smash probably won’t be good if you don’t have the skill.
The slice drop shot is dangerous when it is far from the net. A quick drop shot or a light smash. Or clear would be nice.
Super video. Now I know why my smash is going away when I smash it in high clear
yeah~!
