  • Green cuttings of banyan tree root easily in water but are slower than ficus racemosa & ficus religiosa. You will never need the seeds of this tree again, to propagate. I prefer to root the thicker cuttings in sand / cocopeat. Water gives certain advantages in shaping the root system precisely, as I can see them. More text below :
In the video, I explain the concept of instant bonsai with a potential banyan tree, obtained as a mature trunk cutting. Also covered is the benefit of using colanders as bonsai pots. Why not try water rooting and share your own experiences, with various species ?
UPDATE - Jan, 2017 (water to cocopeat medium)

MUSIC TOO LOUD ? POOR AUDIO ? - SUBTITLES AVAILABLE
My apologies. When this video was made, I was not aware of how to fade out the music when voice takes over. My newer videos have rectified this problem. Kindly bear the old ones, as nothing can be done about it now.
Caution - Avoid growing ficus trees in the ground, too close to your house, compound walls o underground pipes. Their powerful roots can cause lot of damage in the long term.
The videos here are just a tiny fraction of my bonsai content. For more info, please visit my blog - instantbonsaifo...
