This was without a doubt the most entertaining video from y’all, I’ve seen so far. Clearly very different to your infotainment videos, where you present tackle, rods, baits and all the other stuff (which I adore as well). Partially cinematic with excellent camera, music, motives and cut, partially a buddies at work video and partially a homage to Japan and its incredible nature and people. I really want to learn casting the same way as this guy is able to and I‘m training until trout season starts next year. My progress is slow but steady. Thanks for such a unique content. It‘s the most professional and modern way to lead a fishing business imo. Very, very well done guys 👍👍👍
Funny to see how masa goes from being super quiet and shy at the beginning, to how high energy he is at the end after the 3 days. Nothing like a great fishing trip to bring strangers together 😂
Absolutely phenomenal. Perfect adventure, well captured, and immaculate production for us to enjoy. Masa saying thank you to each fish during the release made my day. Thanks for all you guys do.
Just amazing!! If you are a fisherman and don't like this you are not a fisherman... Thank you Hook Up for taking us along with your adventure of a lifetime!!
This video makes me appreciate the privilege of living here in Japan that much more. We usually fish much farther south. Our annual trip takes us to the remote parts of Sado island. Most people dont get to see these parts of Japan, and would never realize this place has locations like this. Its always impressive as heck everytime I go out. Great documentary!
Beautiful and exciting video. Fishing and adventure in Japan, it is very exciting. As you mentioned, fishing is not just about catching big fish, it is about catching special fish, with history and in such beautiful places. And also with Megabass! Very top.
Excellent video and fishing adventure. Thanks for letting us view your trip. You can understand the fishing culture in Japan more by watching this documentary. Thanks to the Hooked Up Tackle.
Interesting to note that Masa does not waste time by swapping hand between casting and reeling in. Over a day, with lots of short casts, the extra time in full control of the lure is considerable.
That really brought me back to all the little creeks I used to explore in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. I never would have thought I’d miss catching small fish so much, but I do.
Awesome video boys, I can't wait to see the video when you guys host the Japanese master angler here in the states. The streams and creeks reminds of some fishing areas in northern Mexican Mountains of Monterey where i did most of my BFS fishing.
You guys made me dream ! One of the best fishing video of all time and from far . Everything about this video is just wonderful. Even the sound of the bell in the back ground make everything come togeter ! Realy great one guys
😢 me ha hemocionado , que espectáculo habéis grabado!! Yo tb viajo por el mundo a pescar y estoy muy emocionado ahora mismo! Gracias amigos y buen regreso a casa 🫶🏼🎣.
This is without a doubt beautifully shot and edited. Such amazing work. I can say so much about this video being really special. Great job guys. Beautiful video, beautiful country beautiful fish.
Was fortunate enough to do this 40 years ago in Western Hokkaido just outside Niseko near Rankoshi. My wifes father used to take us to fishing spots up in mountains. Will always remember that, very tight fishing quarters. When we got home I threw a few hooks out with some salmon roe down a drain on the highway. Pulled 4 Trout out. A true wtf moment.
Great production, guys. This is very beautiful to watch while I am supposed to be working. BFS is so fun. Really, a cool flick that made me want to get out and fish. Damned job!
@thehookuptackle_usa I'm in a machine shop. Make aircraft parts. My machine was getting serviced so I "had a few mins" lol. Again, a really cool video!!
Wow, that's great one! Really nice film! From my personal experience the first time you fish for trout in mountain streams it's damn hard to comprehend. The other fresh water fishing just feels secondary afterwards.
This makes me miss my fishing trips to Japan. Iwana translates to "fish of the rocks" and their eyes are positioned a little bit higher on their heads because it suits their ambush hunting strategies. Yamame ("lady of the mountains") have their eyes more on the sides of their head and like to hunt around the current seams. PS, spider webs across a Japanese mountain stream are gold dust...it means nobody recently walked and fished though that piece of water. Dr Paul Gaskell (Fishing Discoveries BFS and Discover Tenkara traditional Japanese fly fishing).❤
How beautiful the country and what beautiful fish!! Thank you for an outstanding video and taking us with you!! I love my P5 Cliffhanger BFS rod I purchased from you and am now looking at the Pop X for trebles and hopefully the new right hand Aldebaran BFS Casting Reel to pair with it!!
What the enthusiasts dream of! Such a lucky job, never forget that! What we would do to work for hookup! Bearbells are part of the japanese stream trout culture, love to see them embrace the small details of the culture!
Wow, great video. What a nice guy as well. I have been travelling to Japan for over 20 years, and many prefectures nearby, but not there, and never for fishing....so that now on my to do list. awesome fun. Cheers !
I have a Penn slammer 4 4500. I want one rod that can do what I need. I fish lakes and canals. I have a medium heavy and like it. The reel is way too heavy though. I have a medium and like it also. I like to throw jerk baits, worms, a few crank baits, and some paddle tails. Any suggestions? I was thinking a Penn carnage 3 or a Levante

Nice cherry trouts. Look forward to more of these types of videos. Thank you.
Now the lure designs/colors make perfect sense. Awesome video! What an experience!
Fun to see the colors come to life right? Thanks for watching man 🍻

thee best video you guys came out with. best documentary style.
This took me back to my childhood fishing adventures
Beautiful video guys
Great video. You know you're gonna get into some trout when you're doing some heavy bushwhacking!
Crawling through the creek. Tight casting and tiny trout bet Geoff loved it 😂
He loves tiny fish
Interesting to note that Masa does not waste time by swapping hand between casting and reeling in. Over a day, with lots of short casts, the extra time in full control of the lure is considerable.
The cinematography is freaking amazing 😮. I love videos like this
I’d love to see more of these videos where you target species like this. I just finished the video and was ready for another video like it!
Epic. Excellent video. Thanks!
Enjoyed the video well done bring him to the US and do another video with him fishing here that would be cool.
That really brought me back to all the little creeks I used to explore in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. I never would have thought I’d miss catching small fish so much, but I do.
So Awesome…! I am so jealous… lol 🤣
Wish I were there fishing The Japanese streams…. Perhaps for my bucket list.…
👍😎👌
Amazing work, absolutely stunning!
This was a great watch.

Watching Geoff BFS fish was almost surreal. Talk about "out of your comfort zone" 😂😂😂
Haha! But it was a grind so he loved it 👊😜🍻

I'm in a machine shop. Make aircraft parts. My machine was getting serviced so I "had a few mins" lol.
Again, a really cool video!!
Wow, what a great trip. Those reels remind me of my old Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200 DC LH I don't use enough.
Wow, that's great one! Really nice film! From my personal experience the first time you fish for trout in mountain streams it's damn hard to comprehend. The other fresh water fishing just feels secondary afterwards.
There is certainly a life pulse that only stream fishing delivers 👍🍻
Also, awesome video, the quality is amazing!!
Thank you for watching 🍻
Very nice guys! Which reel (the green one) does your fishing guide use to throw that Megabass GH46's? Thanks 😃
more of this please !!!!!
Those fish are beautiful

Bougieness level 10. Love it 🎣 Great job guys. Now I’m wanting a dedicated bfs glass rod. If you could only choose one, glass, or graphite? 🤔
I’m pretty sold and all in on the Great Hunting Huntsman rods
Well alright. I know what I want for Christmas. Let’s hope they’ll be in stock soon 🤞
That native char was also very nice!
@thetackleotaku can you speak to the lines used and what would be best for an Aldebaran BFS?
So good
How beautiful the country and what beautiful fish!! Thank you for an outstanding video and taking us with you!! I love my P5 Cliffhanger BFS rod I purchased from you and am now looking at the Pop X for trebles and hopefully the new right hand Aldebaran BFS Casting Reel to pair with it!!
Thank you for coming along with us! And thank you for your business!! I'm excited to see where the bait finesse journey takes you.
@@thehookuptackle_usaI also forgot to mention the background music was perfect!! Your brother does a great job!!

Bearbells are part of the japanese stream trout culture, love to see them embrace the small details of the culture!
Cool video!
What’s your fav reels for the trout bfs? I quite fancy a new Calcutta conquest bfs 23
Beautiful
Well done guys! Beautifully shot and definitely some epic fishing! I was hoping to see a cameo by Jacob….
I can’t go one video without hearing about “Jacob”…
Can you share the reel, rod and line that you used in this trip please.
Wow, great video. What a nice guy as well. I have been travelling to Japan for over 20 years, and many prefectures nearby, but not there, and never for fishing....so that now on my to do list. awesome fun. Cheers !
I hope you visit and enjoy Akita some day soon!
I can see a lot of inspiration from WildFly films used here. Love It!
I don’t know what that is, but thank you for watching 🍻
Hell yeah!!
to Japan it is the yamamei trout. To me in the US is the brook trout. small delicate beautiful fish.
That’s an adventure to call home & tell ‘yo mommy’ about!
Absolutely beautiful. Ben....I mean Japan. 😁
We know what you really mean 😜🍻
Literally scratching my head at 46k subs....
love this video, but damn those spider webs. When I'm in Japan, and see those spider that live there O.O, I run.
Where can I get the rod and reel combo
Beautiful fish! Do you guys stock those single hooks for the great hunting lures? I'd like to swap out the trebles for delayed harvest.
Yes. They’re made by VanFook
Amazing! Btw, do those tiny bells really get the bears away with their sound?
Well we didn’t see any, so I guess they worked 🤷🏼♂️
Lol its just like trout fishing here in Quebec Canada tye bs you have to walk through to find the trout damn near deadly
