- In today's DAX Fridays video I am going to show you how to create allocation tables using DAX.
I showed you in a previous video how to do it in Power Query, so if you prefer it that way, check this video instead:

I have been fighting this issue for 2 weeks now, using a different approach that didn't work. This solution is elegant and brilliant, thank you!!
I love DAX Fridays on thursdays! Feels like living in the future. 👍
Btw a smooth intro. 🥳✨🥰
😂😂😂
Hey Ruth, thanks for making our life easier 😁 this was really useful as always.
I've done similar calculations on SQL before and I have to say it's pretty nice how DAX handles it
Thanks, congratulations😉
would it very nice to have that calculation leveraging working days instead of all days ;)
Yes, it would, but something has to be left for you to chew on ;)
Done ! Wasn’t that difficult to be honest. I was kind of stuck with the main allocation thought process. Thanks Ruth !
Well done! 👏👏
Hi Ruth, Thank you for more great insights! I tried finding the PBIX file in the download site under DAX Fridays and cannot find it. Am I looking in the wrong place?
great video ! and helpfull, I'm wondering how to implement this when the allocation is not lineair but more seasonal , say that a group of products is significanlly more produced in Qtr 4 than in Qtr 1 2 & 3 for building an inventory?
thanks in advance
It’s dax Thursday
Yey!! Confusing eh? 😂😂
Hello, how can I filter the date in the columns of a matrix to get the 1st or 2nd week of the selected month as a calendar? From Monday to Sunday. Thanks.
❤
Hi Ruth, your videos are excellent and I have learnt a great deal from them! But sometimes the inset video of you covers what you are clicking on. Would it be possible to change that ? It will make it easier for people who are just starting out and not very familiar with the UI
I got it now!
Yes, I try to move myself around, but sometimes i miss some parts and i might block the UI.
Will try to do better :)
Those tableau LODs are badly missed
The Expression refers to multiple columns. Multiple Columns cannot be converted to a scalar value.......hmmmmm?
You are getting a table back when a number is expected.
Now I wonder...did I add my sample file into the download center? I will check tomorrow.
i did not add a table durrrrr
Vertipaq disagrees with you , I am afraid!
@@CurbalEN Hi. Too much haste. I watched the video again and missed the very first step. "Add a table". I just added the measure straight off. rookie error ;) Working now
Ahhh, glad you sorted it out!
Dax Thursday?
Same series, different day ;)
