You just cand hide that engineering spirit, brilliant stuff Eddie, I believe its not just the cost of buying things its the fact we are throwing away things that could be re used and turned into something else, is so much less wasteful, I've noticed over the years the plastics being used for packaging becoming thicker and honestly more useful. So you are doing the planet some good by recycling a this stuff that the untrained eye might miss and it ends up in the garbage, please stay safe and God bless buddy
