I didn't get in on the Kickstarter but in batch 2. Hopefully mine should be shipping soon. It bums me out over the poor powder coating. It looks like yours was well packed and received. In someone else's video they had bent parts and a few items that had been dropped. I've read through the build guide a couple of times but am looking forward to seeing a build video.
@@GregsStoneYard I'm at the lower opposite end of the US from where Omar is located. The boxes in his pictures and the packing evident in your video looks like it's more at the mercy of the shipper than anything else. Was yours from the initial Kickstarter batch? I didn't have the funds available to get into the campaign but was able to get into the second batch. I hoped that by doing so would also be beneficial as any issues would be resolved. Your assessment of the powder coating on the frame components match the assessment of another person's during unboxing. I'm half tempted to strip them sandblast them and have them powder coated locally. Last thing I want is the flood coolant causing any issues with poorly protected metal.
@@GatorGlider I sent Omar a note about the powder coating and he informed me that for batch two they switched to a different company to do the coating, and the quality was much better. So hopefully you are good. Other than that, I wouldn't expect too many other differences between batch 1 & 2 as he had already ordered much of batch 2 components/materials before batch 1 shipped. So I don't think there is much opportunity for improvements based on feedback from batch 1.

I was more hoping to avoid "small" issues like having to unsolder and resolder a diode that got placed wrong on the board (was surprised that happened).
Did you get any directions with yours? I didn’t receive anything no paperwork, thumb drive or even an email with directions? Ive tried emailing but still have not received a reply

Hey Greg, I have one of these machine's sitting in my garage for a year now. Getting ready to finally build it. Disappointing to see the powder coating over mill scale! How long did it take you to get the machine up and operational?
I only got as far as the unboxing. There is a discord with more help, channel 3D Misfits, then select the CNC General Discussion. It's almost all DMC2 related. One day I'll assemble it.
I haven't assembled mine yet, as I got it in the spring and was too busy with outside stone cutting. However from what I've recently read, is no, it's not worth it. You are better to look at something like the Langmuir MR1
What happened to this machine? As far as I can tell Omar dropped off the face of the planet after the kickstarter ended and his shop shows out of stock. I want to purchase one but as far as I can tell he's either not selling it anymore or he's working on new iterations and he's not replying to his business emails
He is currently shipping out orders from the first batch. He is usually pretty good at replying to emails. He told me when I picked mine up that he is already receiving items to send out batch 2. I'd try contacting him again. Unfortunately I haven't had time to assemble mine yet. You might want to wait until some reviews come out now that people have them.
@@rigon63 Definitely still alive; mine shipped yesterday, and is arriving next week! :) As Greg says, he's good at replying to emails, and has kept the backers updated every week since the Kickstarter campaign finished. I'd guess he's snowed under getting the current orders filled as there were three times more backers than expected!!!

I still haven't put mine together yet! I picked mine up so didn't have to worry about shipping damage. Hope yours arrives without issue.
