For the girl in Portugal...try different racquet. I had a Clash 100 and problems with my wrist also ! I switched to Blade 98...no pain. Try different stick for sure
You should play test a Original Wilson Profile 110 or a Prince Thunderstick oversize. Show the current generation where the “Wide Body” era started. It be interesting to see if the additional spin that poly strings provide would make these rackets a little more controllable in the hands of a higher level player. Orthopedic Doctors wound would love to see these rackets return and increase their business.
I have no wrist, elbow, shoulder issues with the Prince Thunderstick Oversize long body 115. It's a bit hard to get around, but started to use it again for doubles with 19g Tour Bite at about 57-55. Good control strung that way. What do you think the stiffness rating is on that racquet? I think the pure drive is much stiffer. Pure Drive plays a bit like a Fir 2X12. Great ground strokes though.
It's interesting how the rackets have changed over the last 30 years it was I picked up a Head Radical Tour from 1995 with a107 in² head and the spec RA was a 63 Which is much more flexible than most oversized rackets you see today
I don't know whether what he said is true or not because Evo Aero are oversized 105-115, light 240g but with stiffness 64. However normal sized Aero are 69-71.
Harry the info you gave on the clash is incorrect, the OLD clash 100L is 54 stiffness rating. The new one you are holding which i believe is the regular 100 v2 has a stiffness rating of 57 not 54. Interestingly on both the v1 and v2 100L they have the lowest stiffnes in the range, v1 was 54 and v2 is 55
Hi Harry , a friend has been using an old pure drive of mine and has had tennis elbow problems. Some of the Head models have a 62/61 rating, would this be a good place to start or better to look at a clash in the 50s. Cheers
Harry - Thanks for answering my question. You’re a prophet when it comes to tennis. I’ve played with a Wilson Pro Staff 4.5si Air Shell 110 since about ‘93. I prefer doubles, and tend to hit with a lot of pace. Every racket I’ve demo’d felt soft. This gives me an idea of current models that might have the feel that I prefer. I don’t know the RA value of my racket model, but iI would guess that it’s in the vicinity of those that you listed. Thanks again!
if you lay it down and push on it, you'll see it bend. If you press with the same weight (like a 25lb weight) you will be able to compare one racket to another right on your countertop.
The Tecnifibre Tempo 298 Iga is a 98 square inch racquet with a stiffness rating of 71.
Always insane to me when I see a racquet in the 70’s now. Yes, they do a lot of dampening, but jeez that’s just so high for no reason.
Please do another one on the opposite of the spectrum. The most flexible rackets on the market
I prefer Classic boxed beam , 62,64, stiffnes RA. Very very good feeling and soft for arm

A video on most flexible rackets (power and control oriented) would have been better appreciated !!
You’re probably right. The sort of person who buys a TiS6 isn’t typically a gearhead that watches such videos. 😄
Doesn’t the normal Pure Drive have an RA stiffness of 71?
Great explanation about racquet stiffness. Many thanks.
Wilson ultra 100 - RA 73

The older head mxg, specifically the 3 had an RA of 73
Using a Wilson Blade V5 and it's very flexible in comparison
3:46 I want to fly out to san fran, just to walk in and do that.

Pure drive kills your arm...try Blade 98
yes, go with those you mention. Babolats tend to be stiffer
Head Prestige S for sure!

The key is to get the stiffest AND lightest racket, what are the rackets with those two features????
Yonex Percept 97L and Wilson blade 100L
Can you guys review the Wilson blade 101L ?
More stiffness more better, there just isn't an excuse to go lower except for material cost & manufacturing limitations.
A buddy of mine uses that Head Tis6. He is a good player. I tried hitting with it and it is way too light. No thanks.
How stiff is the Yonex Ezone 100? It's been categorized for more stiffer or less stiffer?
Ezone have a stiffness around 68 RA
Pure drive RA/72
Wilson Burn 100 stiffness 71

What's up Todd!
This guy has a stiffness problem it seems
"Maybe even a 69"
