Small Dog Day at the farm

- It was a pretty special day at the farm today. We hit a record 38 small dogs at the farm today! It was literally a sea of floof, and a day full of smiles and cuddles! We welcomed Milo the 4 month old Chocolate Cocker Spaniel puppy, brother and sister Bailey and Bridget the Shoodles, Molly the Cavoodle and brother and sister Bowie and Bronte the Mini Dachshunds to our Small Dog pack today. We were all excited to meet our new friends and show them what farm trips are all about ... fun!!!
It was an extra extra special day today. We had a very special guest at the farm. Her name is Beth. Beth has Metastatic cancer. Through a charity called Dreams2live4 we were contacted and Beth was able to have one of her dreams come true today ... to visit the farm and receive endless doggy cuddles. And the doggies didn’t disappoint, they showered Beth with cuddles. Beth sat on the grassy hill with her best friend Sandy cuddling several dogs at a time whilst the drone flew past, then the pee wee and then the big ball and all the time with a big pack of little dogs hot on their tail!
Beth had planned on getting in the heated pool and swimming with the doggies but a Farm day is a big day and she was feeling a little pooped to continue. We know how much Beth really wanted to do this. She’d come to see little Zeus dive into the pool. So we’ve invited Beth to come back again to just come for the swim. I’m putting this here so Beth doesn’t forget and so she knows how much we really want her to come visit again and finally swim with us all in the pool. Till next time ...
Farm Dogs in the Spotlight...
Today we talked about brothers Atlas and Zeus. Atlas is nearly 8 and Zeus is about to turn 1. Atlas has been coming to the farm for 3 years now and his little brother Zeus since he was just 4 months old.
Because Zeus started so young and right when we installed the big sports pool, Zeus had a couple of swimming lessons over Summer and he turned into a dock diving champion! He absolutely loves it. To be honest there’s nothing Zeus doesn’t do and doesn’t do awesomely, he’s definitely a high achiever when it comes to activities at the farm.
Mini Dachshunds were bred to be badger hunters so they’re tough little farm dogs. We find they’re awesome herders and love to herd the big ball. And Atlas and Zeus are no exception. They love coming on big dog days too because secretly they think they’re big dogs, but they also get to ride shotgun with Luke in the baby carrier on the quad leading the pack!
You can’t not acknowledge the fact that these guys are brave with hearts as big as lions. They don’t know the word ‘fear’ or the statement ‘I can’t do this’. They’re fearless little warriors and can achieve anything they put their minds too and boy do we absolutely love them for that. How could you not?!
The afternoon pool session...
The afternoon pool session was incredible. This is only the second time these little dogs have been in the new heated pool and wow wow wow how they have progressed with their water confidence!
Mia has literally grown gills! Since last time, no word of a lie. She swam the whole afternoon.
Chloe the Cocker Spaniel has been telling us all day to go to the pool already ... it’s her favourite and she cries all day letting us know how we’re not yet in the pool! 😆
Little Zeus was unsure to start off, he hadn’t been in the new pool before. Luke got him in once for a swim to show him the water was warm and that was all he needed. He was then diving in every chance he could!
His brother Atlas took no convincing. Harry the Moodle was in by himself too. And even first timer Bowie the Mini Dachshund and then well he couldn’t stop. Daphne was swimming after all the tennis balls and even Ellie the Cavalier got in herself.
The Small Dog pack are in serious training for summer they’re going to be a formidable team this year! Woooo!!
I miss Charlie but he had a wonderful life.

Ears flapping, tails wagging, cuddles, ear scratches, splashing around in the pond.....what lucky, happy doggos! Every dog should experience this in their life.

Whenever I see Charlie I get emotional. He’s an older guy and I know that one day I’ll be be watching a sad day at the farm video. So glad he has this!

The dachshunds are all so fearless and game. They just throw their little hearts into whatever they’re doing. I can’t help but notice that the dachshunds are in the forefront of every new activity. I grew up with a lot of dachshunds and I always loved the breed, but never got to see them in quite this light. What a laugh riot they are!!!
Channel should be renamed “Doggy Disneyland” the happiest place on earth

When I was a baby, I apparently "went missing" creating chaos and confusion. Until my mother looked into the kennel and there I was, curled up with Puggy and her pups! Hv always loved dogs, also born in the year of the Dog. Fantastic job guys!!!

As an athiest its like someone sneaked a camera past st. peters gate into heaven, and if this what heaven looks like? time to change beliefs! peace and love. so many beautiful souls chasing after tennis balls, swimming,running hugging. love them all!!
My dog is a vizsla, big dog right? Nope he is the size of these dogs but that’s okay! He just doesn’t grow 😂 he was also the runt and I don’t care he is perfect to me but I found it funny he would be a “big dog” with the little ones ❤️ (this is why we struggle with dog places because he is meant to be with the small dogs but his brother has to be with the big dogs and they LOVE each other 😂
Hopefully one day kids will be able to do a tour of your farm with their parents to see the dogs playing.
I own 3 long hair miniature dachshunds , they would totally love this place, I like that he knows how to hold their backs!

What a great day for Beth...so many cuddles. The best thing about the small dogs is that they don't know they're small...which makes them awesome. So happy to see Charlie out and about... I just want to smoosh his face... he's my favorite. ❤️🐕🐾
I have a mini dachshund (rescued from a mill, bc he was jammed in a tiny cage his growth was stunted, he's 5lbs) & a huge great dane (another Mill rescue). They act as if they are reversed breeds, Dino the dachshund acts like he's a huge T-REX while the Dane thinks he's a field mouse. It's pretty funny at times.
Even if you are having a bad day, these guys can make you smile! So glad Beth got her wish, she looked like she was having a wonderful day surrounded by so much love from these precious dogs. I love the captions- great way to get to know the dogs.

We had a Westie named Tabitha she lived to be 13 years old and died in September of 2013 in my husband's arms on our livingroom floor. Jock reminded me of her. I love it when Charlie comes sauntering up, he's such a boss. Spot on about the Dachshunds, my 7st hound fell in love with one - till she nipped his nose and then chased him all around the field.
How lovely for Beth to be able to sit and watch and cuddle, soak up all that wonderful happy doggy energy. Not at all surprised someone would have that as a Wish. I wish her all the best, have a friend with the same - she's still going strong several years later.

The dogs loved Beth as much as she loved them! In the states we call David’s cross a “Chiweenie”...also interesting to see lots of cute crosses and long tails on breeds with typically docked tails here in the US. I remember my Weimaraner breeder claiming the dogs would look awkward or unbalanced with natural tails, however, the Boxers, Spaniels, Vizsla and Weims in the “big dog” vids all look great. Perhaps its just smarter Aussie breeders selected for pleasing tails? I am planning on getting Standard Dachshunds and was thrilled to see so many wieners in the videos!!! The smooth variety makes sense in Australia! Cheers!

Wish places like this could exist everywhere! I’ve recently fostered a “groodle” who’s 3 and can’t swim! He sinks! Scared the crap out of me, never occurred he wouldn’t be able to!So good for a pooches head to get out there and socialise and exercise. What a wonderful dream job and life!!
