where did you get the pieces for the water line to go inside to keep tubes from freezing ?
If I remember correctly they came with the ice maker kits.
Great video. How's everything holding up? Have you made any mods?
Thanks! Haven’t done any modifications. But I am getting some frost on the inside walls of the freezer, so I think the seal between the lid and the foam isn’t as efficient as it should be. So I’m going to lay some strips of either laminate or flat stock so the door seal has a nice flat surface to contact. Other than that, it’s been great.
Can you please tell me what brand of wire strippers you use. Love the videos,. Thank You.
I use these www.crutchfield.com/S-p8b6mf1sTFT/p_18119100/SG-Wire-Cutter-Stripper-Tool.html for most things. They feel pretty cheap but work well. I think I got them free with a Cructhfield radio install kit.
Otherwise I use something like these Kleins www.amazon.com/Stripper-Electrical-Klein-Tools-11063W/dp/B00BC39YFQ/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=wire+strippers&qid=1633267431&sr=8-6
Those brackets go on the bottom by the motor they are for leveling the ice maker left and right
Which brackets are you talking about? Pretty sure the only parts I didn't use, besides the misc. tubes and whatnot, were the brackets/arms that turn the ice maker off when the bin is full. They wouldn't function correctly in this application so I didn't use them.
@@CarsCraftsDrafts the plastic white one u modified for the water line.
@@djnemesis82pluss1877 Oh, the ones I trimmed with the hacksaw? Yeah, I wasn't exactly sure what they were for. They didn't quite work out for what I wanted to use them for, but everything was all good in the end!
@@CarsCraftsDrafts well now u know lol
Awesome!
And you should be able to get some fans that plug into the motor on the ice maker
I've got a fan in there already. Wired it so that it turns off with the same remote that I use to turn the ice makers on and off. I didn't know of any fans that would plug into the ice makers, but this setup is working good so far!
How long would it take how many days can make a ton of ice
The way I have it set up, probably takes 6 days or so to fill the freezer. Which is probably faster than I’ll use it. This summer will be the first one with it up and running, so we’ll see how it keeps up with my fishing.
6 days to fill it? Wow that's pretty good
Still running ?
Yeah man. Still churning out ice.
