    It's refreshing to see you diagnosing through intelligence and experience, you get to the fault perfectly and quickly. The way you explain too, it turns what looks like mind-boggling complexity in to the smaller parts. A shame there aren't more around like you the world would be a better place!

    You shouldn't use the universal PAT fluids. The original DPF fluid is not just the metal oxide, it's also lubricity modifiers, combustion improvers and who knows what else. The universal types do not have the additives. The universal types usually use Iron 2-ethylhexanoate is the active ingredient inside. Used widely in industry for decades as a catalyst to promote oxidation... it would of course work in the DPF.
    But that catalyst is not used in any OEM DPF fluid. DPX42 is cerium oxide isostearate, Eolys176 is Cerium Iron Oxide Isostearate, Powerflex is an iron oxide. All three generations are proprietarily developed specifically and only for use in DPF's.
    Question everyone has to ask themselves is, why not use an industry standard compound like JLM / PAT has, that would be cheap and easy, than go through the expense of developing and manufacturing THREE proprietary compounds that has limited use capabilities which is still being manufactured today?
    Unless of course, these universal fluids have longevity issues with other drivetrain components? I highly doubt it undertook extensive testing in all climates, in all conditions as vehicle manufacturers do? You don't need genuine fluid either, as the correct fluid is available and is branded as Eolys, a trademark not found on the universal types.

    Well done Jimmy..another one in the bag, I'm sure I'll need you as my Peugeot Boxer 2018 is on 64k ..may just pop to you and get a diagnostic done for the hell of it...at least it will check for the fluid and dpf condition ..😊👍🏼

    I use a Launch Pro Tab 5 along with a Bosch KTS at work and I slso find the Launch unclear on certain things, the Bosch is far more user friendly imo.

    My 2017 Boxer has done 223,000 miles. Just put new belt on with water pump. Put new mirror on so have temp now. New oil and filter. Think I need the Ad blue clean soon. At the moment I have no lights on so all good for once. Love your vids and have learnt so much about DPF, Ad Blue. Fitted new Nox sensor. Gets real hot on Dpf clean and engine smokes as so hot. Always a worry. PS. Now I need to check pac fluid. New one on me. More things to do. This is a nightmare. my old fiat ducato never had these things on.

    1250 rpm on idle means the van is in limp mode (typicall for boxer - relay/jumper and ducato)

    Hi Mr Riley , Really have to compliment you on your videos , very informative. I m a retired mechanic , but still service bikes and cars in Sweden , looking at a newer scanner, as my snap on is a few years old. I like the launch X431 , I like the bi control. I live in Sweden , would you say this has any limitations or is it good enough for a part timer working, what model do you suggest.PS you are not related to O Riley the builders at faulty towers are you😂😂,only joking.Love your channel as you say most mechanis don’t know how systems work , just throw parts at it guessing.🙏🇸🇪😎👍

    hey im having a hell of a week my vw golf engine blow smoke coming out of dip stick and from turbo and the oil filler cap. and im trying to find out where the vw passat passenger side air bag igniter is on my sisters vw passat 2006, and doing driving lessions with my son and not getting on with the wife. Life is great at the monent

    I've been watching the channel for a while and I'm now scared to drive the van and car, can't go to work for fear of breaking down and now I'm living in a skip, in the hope that the skip lorry breaks down and can't pick it up. Trying to figure out if I can survive by transporting my tools in a wheelbarrow.

    hello mr. Sometimes the dpf filter is blocked due to a large amount of red Eolis liquid. In this case, does the cleaner you use help clean the filter? Does the cleaner (launch) not harm the NOX catalyst?
