    Not everyone close off their tutu pieces but I really love the way you do yours by closing it off so the child won’t be exposed, awesome

    I like that you sew pieces together from below the channel to end. All other you tubers glue the ribbon ends. As a sewist, I never liked that. I sew the ribbon ends together, but now I will do like you! Thanks!

      Yes, I agree. I don’t believe in cutting corners. I like taking my time to make something beautiful for beautiful little girls. I don’t want it falling apart on them on their special day. 😊

    Best tutorial so far! No one else sees the sections together and I thought this didn't seem right to me especially at the prices people are charging but I thought maybe you can't do that! Thanks to this video I will be doing it this way!!

      Yes! I agree. When I first started making them, I couldn’t leave open areas. I had to close them up, otherwise I felt it could result in exposure! I’m so glad you found this video😊

    What are your settings for your machine? When I sewed the tulle and satin ribbon together I noticed I had some loops forming here and there in my stitching! Beautiful work!

    • @CassandraSusan

    Lovely tutorial,do you join the ribbon when you get to the end ,to start another ribbon

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676
      @tutumuchtuluv3676  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! No, I sew the ribbons on each color of tulle first, once I have each individual color sewn with the ribbon, then I start sewing the individual pieces together. This will make one long piece to thread the elastic through.

    💕💕💕💕 love it. Where do you get the gold ribbon you use in all your videos. What size is your channel you Sowed on the tulle

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676
      @tutumuchtuluv3676  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much!😊 I use to get it from tulleshop.com but it’s always sold out, so I’ve been buying from craftoutlet.com. And as a last resort, I will buy from Hobby Lobby, but it’s more expensive. I sew right under 1” for the channel, for a snug fit, but do an inch or a little less. In this video, go to 11:00 minutes, I have a very detailed visual on how to measure it on your machine😊

    Beautiful! So when folded there’s 4 tulle layers? Thank you

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676
      @tutumuchtuluv3676  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Correct, the tulle comes folded in half already, so you keep the pieces together when you cut, then fold it in half once you cut the size you want. Now you have 4 pieces below your channel stitch line.

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676

      I buy the mermaid ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

  • @Sharoina

    To make a lining could I sew a white piece of lining material underneath by attending it right along the stitch for the channel before putting in the elastic so it’s not too revealing?

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676
      @tutumuchtuluv3676  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I’ve never tried that, my only thought is the lining material might bunch oddly or lay downward, unlike tulle that is stiff. I have made matching bloomers when that has been a concern, the tutu possibly being revealing. I can tell you for the most part using the right amount of tulle avoids it being revealing. I have an Instagram @ Tutumuchtuluv and you can see my tutus worn, you will see they are not at all revealing 😊

    You mentions you needed 4 spools of the mermaid ribbon. Did you sew the ends together?

    • @tutumuchtuluv3676
      @tutumuchtuluv3676  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Yes, 4 spools, each one had 3 yards of ribbon, giving me the 12 yards. I don’t sew the ends of my ribbon together. When I run out of ribbon, I grab the new spool and overlap the ends and sew over them. 😊
