Hi , i don’t think the first squirrel was a bad shot , i think he just moved his head the instant you pulled the trigger . Was he spooked by the pheasant with his warning call ?

    Hello My friend,
    Great footage as
always. I like the BSA R10 too. I think they're a beautiful, accurate, capable air rifle and I just like them. I'm interested in your compressor, though.
Obviously, the cost of the unit is an issue and reliability, too. A trip to my gun shop is around twelve miles, and a bottle fill is £3.50.
I would guess a good compressor would be the region of £800 - £900? How do they fair? Are they reliable? Are they expensive to maintain and repair? Are they noisy or end up being noisy?
I do like being under my own steam, though at the moment, this isn't jumping out at me.
    Thank you, Ian.

      Hi Ian
The last compressor I had before was a Venturi Nomad 2 it worked ok was slow and noisy but after a year it became unreliable and I repaired it about 4 times but you can buy ones like it from around £400 but they are noisy and slow to fill
The Hill 3000 I have just bought seems amazing not had it long but reviews say it’s very reliable it’s very quick to fill rifle and can be used to fill small bottles too it’s much quieter as well although it costs around the £850 plus mark which it a lot I would say it’s x10 times better so worth the money
Depends on your funds and how much you might be using it?
      Thanks for the comment 👍

      Hello Sir,
Thank you kindly for your reply. Yes, I agree. I think for you, it will be worth the outlay. For me, the issues are the noise, as I live in a terraced row. It's a lot of fills at £3.50, to acrue nearly a thousand pounds, the price of the compressor. The compressor at the shooting shop I'd hope would be top notch, thus eliminating the chance of moisture.
May I ask, please, what kind of repairs did you have to do to your old compressor? I'm reasonably practical, though I've never owned a compressor, so I don't know what could break or go wrong. Do they have a maintenance schedule, seals to replace, oiling/lubrication points, etc?
      Thank you, Ian.

@@ianwoods1384 this new Hill compressor does have maintenance every 50 hours my old one just needed few drops of silicone oil every few times used
My old compressor was fairly simple to repair but awkward to work on had leaks from pipes main gear wheel broke piston bush came loose switch has to be manually held down to keep working
Check them out on TH-cam there’s loads of videos on there
But I’d steer clear of the cheap ones with the separate power source
      Best of luck 🤞

Why do you want to kill animals that are not doing you any harm.As you get older you will realise how precious life is.

Yes that’s why I’m controlling them…..Grey Squirrels are invasive species in uk and have decimated our native Red Squirrel population almost to extinction here they also eat our bird’s eggs and young chicks and damaged and kill the trees in our woodlands so in controlling them I am helping to preserve the in danger native species and forests etc in our country
You should investigate the effects Grey Squirrels have had and are doing in the England
