For me, Slafkovsky is above Lafrenière. 50 points at 19 while Lafrenière did it for the first time at 22 in a much better team than Slaf. Slaf just learned how to play with his body and his style here in NA. Just wait till he's 24-25... For me, he's higher than Laf because I think he can bring more to the game than just flashy skills, even though for a guy his size, he has a lot of skills.
I actually think I agree with you but part of being on a better team means early in his career laf REALLY had to fight for minutes in the lineup so it’s not all that much of an advantage but you do have a point about slaf doing more while still younger
@@brileywing8136 Yeah I also thought about that, but that also means he's playing with pretty good players. Ekblad is in interesting case. In his first two seasons, the dude looked like he was going to be the real deal. One during the World Cup and then two during the regular season, the second, being worse because he was rushed back after taking the first (Tom Rowe will always be in our hall of infamy for that). As such, his play for the next couple of seasons is solid, but not at the level we expected. Then in 2021 he looks like he took the next step. Not to worry, because he hits his stride the following year and continues to look like a contender for the Norris… Only to suffer a broken ankle after colliding with a teammate. After that, he never really returns to that level of play. He suffers another bad foot injury during our cup run in 23 and at this point, the injuries have added up and he’s not the same player anymore. Fortunately, he’s adjusted his game to be more of a stalwart defensively but at times it looks like he’s laboring out there. I honestly don’t think he’ll play too much longer. He’ll retire in his early 30s which is sad because he was looking like he was going to be a fantastic player for us early on. But these things are part of the game. This is pretty accurate. Anyone who justifies putting Mackinnon over McDavid because of the Avs cup is probably biased and Matthews is a cup away and possibly even another deep playoff run after that to surpass either of these two.
@@richardgagne3255i mean if Matthews does win the cup how can you not put him above Mack? You’re saying his career high in points is 107 but generally goal scorers have less points than playmaker because there isn’t secondary goals. It’s pretty close tho. -habs fan.
Kind of weird to hear Power's comparison to Ekholm and Ekblad as "non-game changers" when both players were key defensive pieces on Stanley cup final teams. Specifically Ekholm has been game changing for the Oilers since he got there. Sure, they are not $8M+ two-way talents but it's sort of apparent that winning teams need this type of defenseman on their roster while Vancouver, and Dallas couldn't get it done with stars like Hughes and Heiskanen against Edmonton this year. It was often Ekblad that shut down the Oilers at the most critical moments, just holding the puck to the boards running the clock down.
I know plus minus isnt the best stat. But Owen Power's 3 seasons have all been plus so far. While Dahlin was minus in 2/3 of those seasons. If he can improve his point totals i think he could be an elite two way dman
Call me crazy but there a lot of player on this that Il take after slaf in a couple years. Most people only saw a couple of games when the habs played against there team, but I saw all 82 and let me tell you he’s a 6’’4 230 lbs power forward that can anything on the ice, he can shoot, he can pass, he can go in the corner and come out with the puck, he’s really underrated on the defensive side, he can skate pretty well for his size, he’s mean, he’s everything you want a player to be.

Slafkovsky lower than Lafreniere, is this a joke. Alexis needed 4 season to get 50 point and have a impact on he's team. (I know NY and MTL roster doesn't compare but still) Slaf is already an Impact player and I dont even talk about point. He's simply a game changer when he get to the Ice(compare to alexis, at least), Hard to boxout in front of the net. First to be on the puck on recovery. Always prepared for the next play. I never see that from Lafreniere.
Bedard is gonna be great but I don't see him being above Hughes or Dahlin at the moment.. maybe in a few years and the potential is there for him to be #1 but there's no way he's #4 right now
Love the takes I would put Owen power closer to dahlin level def above Alexi but from what we’ve seen so far I understand, just saying don’t put him in the back of the pack just yet
now don't get me wrong Mac is an exceptionnal player, but i don't see it, even if it is a team sport in 9 season McDavid has 5 art ross... think about how dominant you need to be. they are different, but connor is just better and has a better career so far and his stanley cup will come.
Hot take...Slaf has potential to be the best outside of the obvious top 4, I just think his size and versatile skill is so unique, compared to Laf, I think Slaf has atleast as much skill plus better skating and size, Slaf is also younger so more time to get better.
Yakupov is better Slafovsky, guy is a huge draft bust, cant score so hes already trying to be more of a tough guy, getting rag dolled in pre season by nobodies
I still don't see where there's so much noise around Bedard. He's tracking to be about as good as RNH. That's a great hockey player, but RNH isn't usually discussed in such rare air.
Because his ppg % is just under mcdavid and Crosbys rookie year And put up a 0.9 ppg on ahl team while missing 14 games with a broken jaw, look at all the other number 1 overall picks and look at the teammates they were playing with now look at bedards he was on the 1st line with 4th liners. What do you think he will do next year with actual top 6 guys on his line
"He's tracking to be about as good as RNH." They are nowhere near the same player. Nuge is strong utility player with about very good 2nd line, average 1st line offensive upside. Where as Bedard is tracking as a franchise forward who drives offense. He might not ever get to the same level as McDavid, maybe not even MacKinnon. But he's gonna be the best 1st overall since Matthews for sure. If you track guys who are more undersized forwards like Point, Marchand, Gaudreau, Zucarello, Hughes or Marchessault, they almost always all peak after they get into their 20s. So give him time. I think guys like that benefit more from packing on muscle mass and learning the ropes of the NHL than the 6'-6'3" guys do. The only guy I can remember in recent history who blew the roof off the NHL in his rookie season as an undersized player was P. Kane. And Patrick Kane had the advantage of falling onto a team that already had Toews, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook. Bedard's supporting cast is ass.
@@mNag Sure they're not the same player. RNH was a plus player on an awful team. He had a few less points than Bedard, but played about the same number of games and helped stop the bleeding. Bedard posts a few more points but his +/- is close to league worst, isn't it?
@@ryanbudney3356 bedard isn’t that great defensively but neither was his teammates, he’s a big assist and goal guy he was never supposed to be good at defence

Crazy ekblad slander when him and Nate will be the only ones to lift the cup on this list
I never see that from Lafreniere.
you're factually wrong. every analytic supports laf being much better. especially 5v5 generation
Let slafkovsky take playoffs and he’ll change your mind
Anyone who argues mac should be ranked over McDavid is insane. Flat out.
Video: "Nico Hischier is underated"
*goes on to underrate him*
oilers winning the cup next year and showing everyone how good they truely are.
What is an "owen power"
Never heard of that before.
Laffy will be an 100 point player in a few years
Agree 100%. Matthews might be slightly overrated. But only by 1 position… maybe.
lol
Lafrenier was playing with a hart level panarin he’s still good but slacofsky was great I’d switch them
Bedard is gonna be great but I don't see him being above Hughes or Dahlin at the moment.. maybe in a few years and the potential is there for him to be #1 but there's no way he's #4 right now
You should rank the best player on every team
Love the takes I would put Owen power closer to dahlin level def above Alexi but from what we’ve seen so far I understand, just saying don’t put him in the back of the pack just yet
Love these type of videos Johnny keep it up
now don't get me wrong Mac is an exceptionnal player, but i don't see it, even if it is a team sport in 9 season McDavid has 5 art ross... think about how dominant you need to be. they are different, but connor is just better and has a better career so far and his stanley cup will come.
Number 5 Austin Mathews.
Number 4 Jack Hughes.
Number 3 Connor Bedard.
Number 2 Nathan MacKinnon
Number 1 Connor McDavid(No debate)
💀
Valid, I’d have matthews over Hughes though
@@mcj44 yeah the only reason I put Hughes over Mathews is because he is almost as good as him and he hasn't reached his prime
@@Crazyworld289 That’s fair
Hot take...Slaf has potential to be the best outside of the obvious top 4, I just think his size and versatile skill is so unique, compared to Laf, I think Slaf has atleast as much skill plus better skating and size, Slaf is also younger so more time to get better.
I like how you just ended the video at #2 and didn't really explain why McDavid is #1 where's you kind of just explained why MacKinnon is #2.
Avs fan, McJesus is #1.
putting celebrini that high is not serious
mackinnon is the most overated player matthews is better
Bedard ahead of Matthews
Slafkovsky above Lafreniere and hisher
Needs to keep it up for more than half a year first.
Absolutely bananas take
You just pissed off a lot of Canadian boomers by having Bedard at #4 😂😂
No he didn’t lol.
suzuki cant hold hischiers jock, what are on
Cannot lie Suzuki and Hischier are like near identical players
Had to do the cutoff at 2013 cause you know Yak would be 1st lol. Such a oiler hater(/sarcasm)
McDavid -----> Mackinnon, Matthews(soon to be bedard), Hughes, Dahlin, Bedard, Hischier, Ekblad, Power, Slafkovsky, Lafreniere, Celebrini(soon to jump Laf)
Yakupov is better Slafovsky, guy is a huge draft bust, cant score so hes already trying to be more of a tough guy, getting rag dolled in pre season by nobodies
Oilers are going to finish dead last in the league next year
I hope laff becomes a bust because that pick belonged to detroit
Hischier is truly overrated, not underrated.
Hughes > Bedard
Not rlly close
SLAFKOVSKY NOT LAST LFG
This guy disrespecting the Panthers
Bedard is way too high
He’s getting 100 pts next year lol
nate dawg has a cup, mc shit doesn’t. end of story
Just say NO to DRUGS , kids.
This dude has Celebrino above Nico Hischer!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤡 🤡 🤡
Tell me you don’t follow prospects without telling me
I still don't see where there's so much noise around Bedard.
"He's tracking to be about as good as RNH."
They are nowhere near the same player.
There's bait, and then there's whatever this is lmao
@@mNag Sure they're not the same player. RNH was a plus player on an awful team. He had a few less points than Bedard, but played about the same number of games and helped stop the bleeding. Bedard posts a few more points but his +/- is close to league worst, isn't it?
@@ryanbudney3356 bedard isn’t that great defensively but neither was his teammates, he’s a big assist and goal guy he was never supposed to be good at defence
Robert Thomas and Suzuki are significantly better than hisher
🤣
Least biased habs fan
Robert Thomas > Suzuki and hisher
Suzuki = Hisher

Don’t get me wrong, I love my captain… but whenever someone reminds me he was drafted before Cale Makar and others, I get really sad
we could’ve gotten nolan patrick
@@missstar219 you’re right it could’ve been worse but it could’ve been better… like I said I’m not hating on my captain I love Nico
i think macklin gonna be better than jack hughes
Lol 🤡
LMAO
Mackinnon 1 for sure
Based on what?
I'm a mega Avs fan and even I don't think you can do that. I think it is a lot closer than most think, but overall, I still feel McDavid is a touch better.
Make sense but before saying that, check that one player that is pretty good. I think his name is McDavid or something.
@@joydjinn8692fuck mcoverrated that bum will never win a cup
@@grants7278 the biggest touch of all time. Not on the same levels. McDavid is on Mario/Wayne level...
Sid the Kid is first
this video only goes up to 2014
Since MacKinnon, read the title
Slafkovsky is a bust
That must be the reason they gave him 60M$
@@Belial87 it’s a terrible and risky signing
