Excellent voices! They sound like opera singers! And also I'm so pleased I finally found a black girl playing Johanna! Good for her and the school for not worrying about changing the lyrics!
@@lunabeans9152 it’s theatre, les MIS productions do it all the time, Eponine is the daughter of the Thenardiers but people ignore that because they’re playing people so it really doesn’t matter.
This is so amazing!!! And they're only high school students? Wow. Johanna is unreal. Mrs. Lovett and Sweeney Todd has great chemistry. 'Epiphany' is crazy good I almost jumped up in my seat and clapped
What I find even more amazing is that Sweeney is interpreted by a real baritone, even a bass-baritone. Low male voices are so rare in musical theatre that even parts that are written for baritones or basses are often interpreted by tenors, many of which, by nature, don't even have the necessary sonority in the low register.
God this Beggar Woman is probably the best I've seen in any amateur production. The whole cast is stellar. Anthony and Johanna have fantastic voices, and Sweeney and Lovett work wonderfully together!
I have always imagined Epiphany being done in the crowd pointing at random audience members screaming at them I think it's a great way to get the audience involved in the play I am still yet to see a performance do that. I am telling you now if I ever get the chance to play Sweeney Todd or be a part of the Sweeney Todd production I am convincing the director to do that. But my God is this so good girl playing Mrs Lovett is on point, And Todd is just scary as hell. Just the way he should be like every comment in this comment section says it is so hard to believe that this is a high school performance Way to go to every cast and crew member the effects are amazing the songs are well sung the acting is phenomenal. I do hope that these kids continue on with their careers or have continued on with their careers in acting and Broadway performance because each and every single one of them deserves it.
I guess a great deal of that is due to the fact that Sweeney is interpreted by a real bariton, even a bass-baritone. Low male voices are so rare in musical theatre that even parts that are written for baritones or basses, such as Sweeney and judge Turpin, are often interpreted by tenors, many of which, by nature, don't have the necessary sonority in the low register, not mentioning the fact that their timbre is much brighter than what the composer intended.
A lot of strong voices, but Mrs. Lovett was had and shoulders (pun intended) above all the others. Phenomenal, and as a Todd purist i'm super picky. Well done, I hope to see you on stage again!

Elizabeth Power it’s copyright so they can’t change the lyrics
People sometimes change how they describe her hair and omit the wig makers sequence
Elizabeth Power good for her? more like rightfully so
Its nice but it doesn't make sense if Sweeney or Lucy aren't Black. How could two white people have a black child?

Honestly, one of the best Epiphanys I've heard in ages. Probably top five
this is actually really impressive for high school students

This is absolutely incredible for high school students.
High School? You sure? This is absolutely amazing!
This is absolutely incredible!! Such a talented cast I’m in love
Anthony had a magnificent voice! Exactly as he should sound!
I’m not in theater but I’m glad I go to this school. Our theater program is honestly great
What other shows have y’all done?

I believe in the original performance he does talk directly to audience members
What a talented cast! Thanks for posting this.
I love the chemistry between Todd and Lovett!!!!!!!!!!!
I think they’re the perfect balance of Johnny Depp’s and George Hearn’s version!!!!!!!
Thank you for posting this...love the Presentation of Mrs. Lovett..reminds me a little bit on the great Patti Lupone
EPIPHANY IS AMAZING OMG HE’S SO GOOD
Loved the girl playing Toby. Well done!
The young woman playing Johanna made my jaw hit the floor. Unbelievable!
Okay but when the actor for Sweeney Todd first sang, it blew my MIND WOW!

Jesus this is amazing. Hope those kids are doing what they love still.
Absolutely amazing
Waiting to see more comments about that Antony!! He was sooo good!!
me: where do you go to school
him: Oh, I go to university
me: oh really? which one
him: high school
Epiphany was fucking AMAZING
I like it! I like the chair! Its not allways the chair has the mechanical work, but now it has it!
Wow...truly talented students! :)
Guys, I looooved your interpretationes!!!!!! *-*
YASSS WE LOVE BLACK ANTHONY AND JOHANNA
there so many of them. If my productions in High School had half that many people our show would have been killer. Although they were killer anyway.

She is horrifying and one of the first that I have felt is completely a "stalker" type personality.
The freak
They’re so good and in HIGH SCHOOL
This impressed the fk out of me, WOW!!! I love Sweeney Todd!!!
anyone know why they skipped over some lines in wait??
Of course it’s in Florida
this is pretty cool
Bruh the name of your university is high scool
The shadows of the silhouette reminds the audience of the late Michael Jackson
UCSD, take notes.
Sweeney: *laughs*
