Even though this plugin has a great reputation, you demonstrate that it's EVEN BETTER than it's reputation - crossing over the filters is an especially useful tip. Thanks
were does it goes... do i put it first on top.. or the last plugin ??? i have studio one with KrK Rokit 6 speakers.. and i still cant hear any Difference when i bypass
Didn’t think of using it as a de-esser, I’m going to try that! I have of agree with you, this is the first of the so called intelligent EQs that I find really useful. Great video!
Wow....finally a plugin that goes beyond our ears ability to duplicate with other tools....goodbye soothe, c6, and dessert. Man can't wait for black Friday this year... gr8 vid
I can't find any videos of this plugin in a hip hop track. I love the concept but I'm just wondering if it would translate to be as useful in mixing the genre of hip hop...?
@@TheBlackJewelz I've been using it on Hip Hop influenced funk mixes. Sounds pretty good to me. Just like a finishing touch that adds a bit of clarity.
very cool to see that you approve of this dynamic eq! would love to see a review on another popular dynamic eq, soothe (which the creators call "a magic wand for lead vocals")
Sounds like a awesome plugin! Would this be the first insert on a mixing chain or the last? For instance, i usually balance eq then use various things to enhance a sound in the mix using like saturation and hardware eqs etc... would you put this on first before all the rest of processing? Thanks for the info and demo!
My best suggestion is, wherever it sounds best. I generally do harmonic coloration first, but will always check to see if a change in processing order gives me something better
The Great Mike, Explains everything so Detailed that no one does🤩🤌🏻I love how you describe everything in a mix engineer's technical and artistic views. Soundtheory has recently released a new Plugin called (KRAFTUR). I'm anxiously waiting for you to review it 🤘🏻
Ain’t nobody that gives info like Mike, thanks from all of us for what you do in our small community.
Cheers!
Great tip on crossing over the filters! I've had Gullfoss for a while and didn't know about this, thanks Mike!
Cheers!
Yeah, it adds a whole new dimension to using it
I love this plugin. Been using it awhile and it sounds super natural.
Agreed!
Also sounds supernatural!
Your the best my friend.Every review is exellent!!

I didn't either until I started playing around with the frequency targets. Have to say I really love it for De-Essing
Yeah, this makes for a great desser. Really nice, actually.
Thank you SO much, Mike! Great tutorial! Glad you're impressed with Gullfoss :)
Cheers!

I own this and love it even if i dont really understand how it works, it sounds fantastic. Thanks for the very useful review
Cheers!
That’s the best tutorial on this plugin. Many thanks. Can you look at Master the Mix Bassroom?
Thanks Michael ! I will check it out Bassroom.

Hip hop is not considered music, sorry...
@@richardaling5278 you’re not considered a person. Not sorry.

Hi Michael !
Great tutorial as always :)
Will it be useful to have a M/S version ? Just wondering....
Cheers !
Yes, it would be. Although that may present other issues given the sophistication of the processing
thanks for explaining how this works!!!!!
It's much more limited compared to Soothe2 but it sounds totally different so it's still needed.
When I use this plugin, the signal gets delayed... How to compensate that?
23:22 Using a De-Esser. OMG. Duh. I need to go play now.
Seems to be a game changer, in a subtle way.

Always the best!

Really helpful thank you 👍🏻🍻
Sounds like a sort of Trackspacer type of thing - though a bit more sophisticated perhaps?
Awesome stream. :-)
Mike, put some bass on your talk mic... please?
Hornet’s thirty one is worth checking out if you find this type of plugin useful.
I will check it out...
The makers are physicists and maintain Guillfoss has no dynamic function. Like you I think they mean dynamic in the compression/ expansion sense
I guess we are getting into semantics then. Looks dynamic to me! perhaps dynamics takes on a different meaning to a physicist.
So funny...sounded fantastic when it was bypassed.
Well, at least you liked my mix...
