Dragon 1/35 Sherman II Post Model Build Review, this Dragon Model kit has nice features including cast texture, photo etch, individual (magic) tracks, slide moulded parts and fine details.
The Sherman II was the M4A1 used by the British in North Africa during the Second World War, this model is depicting one from the battle of El Alamein with the 9th Lancers.

*I like the first version of the Sherman which was used on Africa, well done!*

Thanks for sharing your update! FWIW, I have always loved the early Shermans, especially those with the rounded cast hull. Not only were they a key part of the British victory at El Alamein, but my country's earliest contributions to the Allied war effort on the ground...by the Canadians..used these Shermans in Sicily & Italy (...as did the Kiwis and Aussies..). Also, in comparison to the Shermans in other theatres, the camo schemes on these early Shermans IIs and IIIs are quite interesting. So, I found the research and modifications you describe in detail to be most illuminating! I do believe that I have a Dragon Sherman II kit, a Dragon Sherman III kit, plus a couple of early Shermans from Asuka, so I am looking forward to your videos about this build! Stay warm! Cheers!

Odd I didn't get a notice about this??? I have the bell ? Anyway love their Sherman's. The loops on the trucks where for tie-downs in shipping and no one bothered to remove them until later in WWII. Anyway looking forward to the painting. God bless

Excellent post build review! I have built a few Dragon Shermans and I agree with what you said. Some are excellent, some seem very cheap with the goodies and extras removed. I enjoyed your breakdown of this kit and the minor corrections you've made for the factory variant you chose. Take care and happy new year!

Good video!!! I have this very same kit and, for the life of me, cannot find that bugger!!! Been wanting to build it for a long time but just cannot find it. Probably "relocated" it to the trash bin by accident.
As for Dragon kits: Hmm...when I got back into model building in the 1990s they were the kits I was building the most mainly because they offered a betterchoice of subject matter AND I really did not have the knowledge of the various manufacturers like I do now. Some of those 1990s kits were....a challengelet us just say. So, now I sort of avoid them as much as possible though have built some of their 21st Century kits (can definiitely see the improvements!!! But, like Italeri kits, I avoid them unless there is a subject matter that I really want to build, then will just suffer the torment until kit is finished or it goes back into the box sort-of built.

Yes the Rubber tracks are not very good, but as much as I complain about Dragon, I still like building their kits.

Top vid. Do you know if the Italeri 1/35th Sherman with a cast hull and turret with tank riders is any good?

God I'm still having flashbacks with that photoetch fender when I did this model. I actually did the same scheme you were looking at (it's the slate grey camo pattern right?) but pretty sure there is problem with the vallejo model air colour. Basically it looks green rather than black!

I've just encountered a problem with this kit - not enough track pieces! I hope you managed to get yours finished.

I did another video on the kit explaining just that! Still no word from Dragon either on replacements 😐

That Sherman is looking good, looking forward to the painting episode, my only issue with Dragon, is they have too many parts, say compared to Tamiya, I hope yoh and your family have a safe and healthy New Year, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
