This was absolutely huge when this dropped back in the day. Still get chills
No it wasn't.
@@AnthonyMonaghan okkkkay bye, funeral at the party.
It's still fucking huge bro
For people who know, how it felt hearing this at the time. they know. 🔥
It was bigger than your sausage @@AnthonyMonaghan😂😂
An absolute British classic. Captures rave / nightlife culture beautifully.
Rave 😂😂😂😂 funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time, clearly haven’t been to rave
@@marksaunders-vz3cz neither have you your 10

This brings so much memories. When I was just a young rascal, no worries, no consequences, having fun and getting wasted with my friends.
Now I want to believe I am a different and better person, but listening to this song makes me shed a tear for the person I was back then.
This shit hits like a truck. Getting old is not easy.
instantly reverted to that person whilst there. time was rewound and it was amazing
In all due respect, sounds like you could do with some therapy. If your happy childhood memories cause a sense of longing rather than satisfaction, something is missing from your life, or there's some unresolved trauma that makes you romanticise how it used to be. Worth checking out.
I disagree, that seems to be a perfectly natural reaction hence the term nostalgia.
You hit the nail on the head there pal. It's not a nice thought knowing we're getting older man. But when he started with the "Take me as I am" set and all the flags going, it was like were teens again 😂❤❤❤❤
I’m with you mate. Life was so much simpler then all my mates none of this crap felt genuinely happily back then, life got so much more complicated
Are you kidding me BBC? You cut it off before he waves the flag??! He spoke about it for 15 minutes then you cut it off...wtf.
In in the next song th-cam.com/video/ZFtZmFy4Yog/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WlwboqEkcDf_9seV
Exactly what i thought. BBC are a bunch of wankers
Watch the “Take me as I am” video. It’s shown in the next track.
@@Darragh69 I saw that! Thanks a lot
I know...right! What a performance tho ❤❤❤.
What a track. Britain really does produce some talent. Huge shout from the US.
Loving The Streets and also other various UK electronica based acts like
Faithless, The Prodigy, UNKLE, Aphex Twin, Leftfield, Burial, Underworld, Orbital, Goldie, FSOL,
Chemical Brothers, Squarepusher, Stereo Mcs, Massive Attack, The Bug, ALLFLAWS
And Portishead...👌👍

Such a classic song. And what a performance. Deadly stuff.
Love the Streets. Utterly legendary British performance by Mike there...'I need to get through...'scuse me 'scuse me'.
Holy Hell! I heard this YEARS ago - got it Bluetooth'd to me in secondary school and listened to it all the time.
Heard it on Kidulthood a few years later.
I haven't heard this song in years. Some belter memories to this song. 😊
Amazing how much these tunes take you back to better days ❤❤❤❤ love him with fred again an dermot kennedy ❤❤ watched him yesterday a 1 yr old click on bbc breakfast stoned where naga muchette had to take over he was giving them nothing 😂😂😂😂 takes me back but christ old 😢😢😢😢
First came The Streets, Then Dizzy, and then the whole grime era started. Without The Streets no-one would have made any money. Skinner is music royalty.
Can not stop listening to 'Darker the Shadow The Brighter The Light' Glad The Streets are back. Can't get enough of the backing singer, he is incredible
MASTERPIECE
Makes me think of my first raves on E in the early 2000s, amazing times 🔥
same, and taking party biscuits plus the misery of the days after they wore off. lol.
Caught ya drug addict!
Doves and Mitzies
Don’t make them like that nowadays though

I know this isn't from it, but Original Pirate Material doesn't get enough recognition as one of the greatest british albums of all time. Absolute game changer.
Yeah it does
Absolutely. It straddles the boundaries
@@Themozartthug also a great album

Game changer? OPM saw the most devoted indie kids tear up their skinny jeans and become "urban" (whatever that is)...
Watched this live & have watched it 4 times from start to end since and cried… STUNNING 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 was with The Street’s in 2001 and I’m here now 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
This song takes me back to my teenage years. Feels like a lifetime ago. Still love seeing The Streets perform. Iconic 💕

WOW! Classic song!! One of my favorites!
these look well speckled, green and blue.. I feel all fidgety and warm..
His live gigs are always amazing.
Luv and Peace.
This song captures being young and daft for me, too many late nights and too many disco burgers, live to tell the tale 👍
Absolutely love this and they performed it so well, the guy singing the refrain has an amazing voice ❤
OMG he is still so good looking xxxx
Moje najlepsze lata życia kojarzą mi się z tym wykonawcą, tą muzyką, tym tekstem, the street ❤
Legendary. One of my favourite songs from them.
Captures pilling in the club to perfection. 2nd album is a masterpiece!!!

That is such a tune and they performed it so well ❤
So good to see Mike back and in a good place 👍🏻🙌 grew up listening to this when was a bit of a tearaway. Resonates quite well this song and the memories are insane 😂
This is so sick this was absolutely phenomenal back in the day
Didn't know my plumber was performing at Glasto?
His dress sense has been like this for years and can't blame him at Glastonbury!! Was a nice sunny wind for a change !! Mike skinner is a legend ❤❤❤
He wasn't.
Is he your plumber?
Fucking quality 😂😂😂
😅😅
First heard this song when I watched Kidulthood. I must've been about 8 or so watching it at a mates house. This song's always had that special feeling/memory of my childhood
This song is elite. Eternal.
I have so many fucking chills and tears in my eyes hearing this
Thanks for share 👏🏿👏🏼👏🏽👏🏻👏🙏🏼
Brings back so many memory's
Damn the last drop🔥 brings back lot of memories
f****! memories hit hard with The Streets 🥲
I would rather see this one band than all the other artists there put together.
Was absolutely incredible this
I was there amazing 😮
Who is the backing singer? That voice is like a hot bath in winter. ❤
Absolute legend ❤
Goosebumps
We’re going streaking in the quad
I was in a gym with Mike Skinner in 2005 in Australia. I don’t think he’s been since.
😂😂😂😂
Yes. Legend 😃
Faarkin el , lads been to the fridge after smoko ova the years , ya legend 😊 da streets is always 👌

Absolute Beat ❤
Soundtrack to my youth
Wow. Just wow.
Love how he's just ad-libbing and messing about. Mike is a straight up G!!
I fucking love his energy on the scene. Great performance. Wolud be epic to be there. Chills
Ahhh the good old days/nights 🐻😎
Great performance
The guy in the croud with pink guitar is a legend of this glasto edition.
3:00 big man telling Mike he'll "be fine" after he says he shouldn't have done the second one. It's just the lyrics my guy 😂😂
Music of my misspent youth🎉
if u were listening to this it weren't misspent
My childhood song 🤪
Legend !
It's vividly real, as those of us who know, simply know 🙂
KeepRightOn 💙 Love The Streets
Banger ❤
Reminds me of that one scene in Kidulthood. So sick
Wait I don't get it... when he waves the streets flag what am I meant to do with my flag?
Think you might have to wave it as well , but not 100% , he should of told us 😂
Wave it 😂
go mental
Unbelievable 🎉
Stellar
class performance👏
Capture the flag
A true artist.

Perfection
Legend 👌
Massive fan from a Chinese girl for over 2 decades
Epic !!!!
Rumour has it he is still waving the flag.
Cut off the climax …
Classic song
oh the waving flags look awesome!! just amazing!!
I was there. What was he on about when he kept going on about ‘going up the hill?’
Made me laugh every time but I had no idea what he was on about.
He’s on about the hill at the Park Stage where the Glastonbury sign is lol. He knows glasto well and kept going on about meeting everyone at 5am at temple bar in shangrila too 😂
Every time he says flag take a sip
"I can taste Hairspray "❤
Reminds me of Kidulthood, Adulthood movies...👌🏾
I dont know who qrote for the streets, but it was genius and relevant to the culture
GOATED
❤ 🎉 O2 academy Birmingham.... U rock
🔥🔥🔥
My favourite bit was when everyone waved their flags and went mental.
But only on his command
My favourite bit was that I didn't even get to go mental or see anyone go mental because he didn't raise his flag. I didn't see anyone going up any hills or anything either.
He went on and on about the flag throughout the entire song and whatever happened just got cut off in the end!
My mans a legend even wirh the beer belly😂
No one can capture the british night out like Mike Skinner
I don’t miss a day a week kislux This show..
Went to the pub …bought a pint…put a pound in the fruity….sparked a cigarette….
we didnt even see him wave the Flag!? talk about buildup with no payoff
