“Select Bus Service” Wrapped Buses on the M14A/D

  • The M14A/D is slated to begin Select Bus Service operation some time this spring. In the meantime, ticket machines lie unfinished at some bus stops and SBS branded XD60’s have found their way onto the routes.

      pamela griffin B41 is slated to be an SBS Route in a few years.

    Can the MTA rewrap the Novabus LFS Articulated buses or not anymore? Ive been seeing the 2012 Novabus LFS Articulated buses on the M14 route.

      Edwin Penafort I assume that they can, but at the moment, we’re receiving the newer LFSA’s, so such a overhaul wouldn’t be necessary.

      Edwin Penafort They want all SBS routes to include new scheme buses or as everyone calls it, the “Cuomo Scheme”.

    Any idea on when the order for MJQ Will be complete I know I saw so far they’re order spilled over into the 5600 units such as 5600-5601 I’ve saw so far

      The 2018-19 LFSA order is complete. I have a video of 5602 on the M14D up soon. The only incoming Artic's are the 61-62xx XD60's and soon to be XE60 order. At this point, it would be the last Artic order until it would be time to retire the 12xx LFSA's. That is unless they order another batch of Artics to push out the Orion VII's and expand the Artic network in Brooklyn. I am sure the TA plans on putting Artics on the B15 in the future.

    The m14 SBS is not really needed. At least make the M14D local

      How is the M14 Select Bus Service not really needed, anyway? It's actually considered as one of the slowest MTA buses.

      As a person who had lived along the M14 for 30+ years, I woefully disagree. The M14 has gotten slower and slower in recent years. Honestly, the M14 should have been the first Manhattan crosstown route to become +SBS+.
