In this video:

Airwolf is still one of the best looking helicopters to ever be built. I know it was mostly tacked on stuff for the show, but they did such a great job making the beast beautiful.
I remember my mom didnt want me to watch Air Wolf because of "Conflict". But Dad and I would watch it. The audio tract is unforgettable.
Amazing I can't wait to fly this on Xbox. I was 11 when Airwolf first aired. I remember watching it growing up. I still watch it all the time on BluRay. I was a Apache mechanic in the Army. Because growing up watching Airwolf I knew I had to do something in Avation.
I'm looking forward to this so much. can't wait for the release.
Honestly can't wait for this, Ive been waiting for someone to do a good model of Airwolf for ages. And thank you dude, and to all of those that have helped, its gona be amazing, honestly can't wait.
Rewatching the show, big kudos to the actual pilots that flew Airwolf in the show. They made is seem like Airwolf was a living creature and flying as smooth as a fish in water.
I just stumbled onto this channel after reliving my childhood watching Airwolf episodes. I was looking for updates on whether or not the show was getting rebooted and here I am. This is amazing! If you're developing a game I hope to see how it turns out.
This will be a DLC worth paying for.
This is beautiful. I've never played MS Flight sim before but really want to just fly around in this helicopter.

This looks really too good to be true.👍 With a Bell 222 cockpit, it must be much fun to cruise around with this chopper in MSFS. Can't wait for the 1st release, but good things need time.🙂

Looks great. I thought that the missile array popped down and then forward rather than just opening. But the render looks fantastic.
Please make sure that howling special effect sound is an option that was so cool when I was a kid
The howling effect will be tied to acceleration (sort of like the gun port whistle on a p51 mustang)

Looks fantastic!! One thing i notice is the red stripe on the tail rotor needs to be adjusted. It is a lot thinner than what your model currently has. It looks way to thick.

I'd rather wait til it's ready. There are already lots of helis on msfs that are amazing for those who need their rotor wing fix.

Just an observation: On the Real Bell 222b, the main rotor blades do not sag, most likely due to their strong composite metal alloys.
Well there's the tiniest amount of sag on the real thing but yeah I could reduce it on the final version to make it more accurate.
All helicopter rotor blades have a bit of sag to them, and the Bell 222 is no exception. They have to be able to flex in flight or they would snap under the strain.

All is well, I just took a break during the holidays to spend time with family. Project Airwolf is still alive and well. I'll hopefully have an update video I the coming weeks.

likely not as I have several plans for additional airwolf content which I'd like to provide (free) to those who support the project. i.e. missions, scenery addons and improvements to the aircraft itself. Never say say never though.

Wish someone would create a more modern updated version of Airwolf with 4 blades. Maybe AW2?
There was talk about rebooting the series using a Bell 430 but, from what I know it never went anywhere.

I'm actively looking for a dev who'd be able to assist in creating the lair so I'm hoping that and other additions such as missions would follow soon after release. For now my focus remains on the heli itself though.
@@cptairwolf your work looks brilliant so far and I was thinking of making a airwolf game if won 100 plus million on lottery are you guna try and add it some of airwolfs special abilities like stealth and the computer picking up targets and been able to fly really high
@@cptairwolf I might be able to assist with some 3D modeling. Maybe try and merge the set with the matte paintings and photogrammetry.
what color did you use to model this? Phantom gray Metallic is the true color, but the only sample I can find is the Caddillac version. Thanks. Nice Work!!
I created my own shader in blender and tried to make it look like phantom grey metallic.

Dude. After this please do it for Xplane 12. Xplane 12 does rotary wing dynamics way better than msfs.
If you do it for Xplane Blade element theory will do most of your flight dynamics for you.

Starting to think this project is vaporware, just like the Polychop OH-58D for DCS:World.
Certainly not vaporware but finding it hard to find time to work on the project as I'm employed full time and have other responsibilities. I'm likely going to try and make it a MSFS2024 release since that version of the sim is going to offer lots of new features that will be vital to making Airwolf a worthwhile addition to the sim.

You can, they just can't be sold on the MSFS Marketplace. There a plenty of military aircraft with weapons from their respective developers with weapons but they have to be "neutered" if they are on the market place.

When is this being released?
When I've the time to complete it properly. I don't wanna just release something that "looks" like airwolf. I want people to feel like they are flying the fictional beast.

Just that the project is still alive and kicking. I likely won't share any news until I'm able to announce something that will be available within days/weeks as I don't want to build up anticipation for something too far out of reach. Hope you guys understand.

Can you make a fully functioning model for DCS?
I don't have much experience with DCS and their SDK but if someone out there was interested in converted it after its release I'd be happy to collaborate with them. Would certainly be nice to see the weapons systems work!

That's my hope but it will depend entirely on whether or not Asobo allows me to publish it on their marketplace once it's ready.

As of yet, not in this newer version as Asobo doesn't allow "jet" like behavior when using the heli flight model. I'm trying to find a way around that before release though.
