      He went into a childrens hospital, when he had no reason to be there, to make a video, criticizing a small selection of food. A children's hospital, you know, the place where children go to when they are fighting for their lives? He put children at risk so he could make a video for social media clout. He's barely an MD, hes a psychiatrist and clearly not even a practicing psychiatrist. No real doctor would go to where there are sick children unless they had a requirement to be there for work. He did it for social media. Do not be praising this POS.

    Ive been slacking with ypour diet recently since its nearer to Christmas. Although I have never suffered from gaining weight and keep slim, I noticed the diet made me more mentally focused, I had better bowel movements, less stomach pains, and more energy. Its a shame people get so angry and judgy when you say you are doing an animal based diet, I guess they just have such an emotional connection with junk food that they try to dismiss it straight away. Hi Paul, long time watcher here, I really respect what you're doing and have been wanting to try your diet for awhile now. I have finally gotten around to it but I have one problem. Fruit spikes my blood sugar and causes subsequent crashes, the same with honey! The only foods that I can semi tolerate and give me a sustained increase for a few hours is grains. I don't want to eat grains because they cause some level of gut inflammation but fruit isn't good to sustain my blood sugar at night.

    Great video Paul! I recently did this experiment with Chronometer as well. One thing I also wrestled with is how to enter grilled ground beef patties. We know that in the grilling process itself a good portion of the fat is lost (thus all the flames, amazing smells and smoke, and the mess in the catch pan). Some estimates are up to 33% of fat is lost in grilling. I think likely it depends on the shape of the patties, how long you cook them/internal temp, etc.
    As the ground beef lines items are the largest calorie counts, I think it's reasonable that your total ingested calories were actually lower by 250-500 calories. Again not that it matters that much bc counting calories kind of sucks.. My interest in this is to only ensure I'm not inadvertently restricting calories because eating carnivore is extremely satiating!

    We have often been told not to combine lots of fat with sugars, i.e. low carb when high fat or low fat when high carb. You seem to eat lots of all the macronutrients in the same meal. Is that really recommended for everyone? Before I went low carb, I remember always getting spaced out if I added fat to my fruit smoothies, for example.

    I had a chronic cough and postnasal drip that went away after a few weeks of cutting out seed oils from my diet a few years ago. I still get some because I'm not super strict and I eat out on occasion (good luck finding where that doesn't oil their grill with canola or something similar), but it's a night and day difference. Since then I can also sleep on my back without my sinuses becoming congested. I'm fairly young so it's evidence that youth isn't immunity and many ailments you think you're stuck with for life may be caused/cured by your diet.

    @ScootsTrades ปีที่แล้ว

    I appreciate the work you put into all of this and I like that you're thinking for yourself and trying to look deeper into the evidence than just reading summaries. In this case, I think you may be overestimating your calorie intake. You did you use the word "estimate" regarding your ground beef. If you're not weighing and measuring, why even run the experiment? Also, I would like to know what you do with all the fat after adding butter to 80/20 ground beef. Do you just drink the grease at the end of it? How is it consumed? How much is lost in the cooking process (grilling vs pan frying)? There are some variables here I think are worth exploring.
    Also, if your metabolism was really elevated so much as to be able to burn an extra 1,000 kcal, don't you think you'd be uncomfortably hot all day/night? That's a lot of heat production.

    I loved this video 🏆👍. Helps to give me a better understanding of something that has bothered me (for personal reasons) the fructose (fruits and honey dilemma [mine]) that said, still fruits and honey are a "no fly zone" (for me), but may work very well for others, for some maybe only a short time before something goes askew, and for others, who knows maybe for the rest of their natural and long lives, never have disputed that. And clearly you are on top of the chart as knowing what you are sharing in these videos and believe in your sincerity and honesty in content. But for me that one area just does not work, and I am not a purist as Carnivore to (?) , just the fruits and honey you say as okay doesn't work at all for me without question... throws the whole benefits I had made in absolute reverse, and it does it in only mere days! Actually feel the negatives of the indulgence where I cautiously green lighted, such as a simple indulgence of a putting a mere 1tbs of honey as a sweetener in my coffee and in under 24 hours later I realize that was not a good move on my part for me. Takes a few days to get back what I gave up! Seriously said. Same goes with fruit, not binging on but one or two in a days time and I feel the undoing progress of that pleasant tasting fruit to becoming what was only a fantasy for the better health I have achieved in less than 9 months going near bedridden as a daily norm past few years...to active first time in 9 years of honestly active wanting to do stuff without consequences from pushing my boundaries. So I take issue for me personally fruits and honey are my krytonite. Not you Doc, love your stuff your energy, your intellect, your posts but have to say, the fruits and honey or a no go zone for me. I suspect it is like that for most who don't have as yourself that high of metabolic rate of burn as you show here in this video. [I am] Not as versed in this genre as yourself clearly, but do know what seem isn't working for me, or worse undoes the progress I have enjoyed these past 9 months. But I do love hearing, watching your videos and your illuminating in those video clip shorts that you post of the trash/harmful foods snacks on our grocery shelves parading as healthy to the unknowing to others who consume them who have no clue what they are maybe doing to promote the need for later medical related intervention for say type 2 diabetes, obesity, or worse. I cannot say a pound of liver is equivalent to 6 capsules in my bottle. I need to create a narrative that this much raw is enough and same I'm giving in my servings of Heart & Soil. I don't agree with your take on mushrooms. The part of a mushroom that we eat literally is called the FRUITING body. the part of the mushroom organism that wants to protect itself and not be eaten is the mycellium. a lot of mushrooms benefit from having their fruiting bodies eaten, as insects and animals can spread the spores further along in their faeces. chaga is a different kettle of fish, as it is actually a sterile conk of a tree that is infected with Inonotus obliquus so you are mostly consuming a tree.
    the majority of mushrooms do no contain any toxic or poisonous compounds because there is no biological incentive to invest resources into creating them when getting eaten isn't that harmful for the species.

      I have a gene mutation inherited from my parents where I'm lacking most of my aldolase b in my liver, meaning that eating more than a few grams of fructose daily will kill me. I dont eat hardly any red meat as its way too high in iron, which accumulates with age and becomes a major factor in heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. I get my calories from whole milk, sourdough bread, white rice, a little bit of liver and occasional shellfish. Unfortunately many plant foods contain fructose, even potatoes.
