Like you, the first Troughton was my first annual find. My sister bought it from a 2nd hand shop. Just loved the stories, much as I also did love the 70s Dalek annual stories. What a groovy set of books. Nice friend to loan them to you. I'm not real familiar with a lot of Doctor Who, watch the biggest part of one series but would like to go back and watch all of them. If I could find the time. That's a lot of TV. A great British thing. 👍😊
My first annuals as a kid were DALEKS 1976 and STAR TREK 1976. They blew my tiny mind. Weirdly my DALEK 1976 had a DALEK slip cover and the cover boards underneath were of a SHIPS book.

Ive got most of them myself, just missing a few dalek annuals, and I'd lost interest in the show during Colin Baker and I wasn't a fan at all of the show when Sylvester and Bonnie were in it. Just awful, so I stopped getting the annual after the first Colin Baker one. Always a staple of my Christmas presents! Thanks mum xx

@@JulesBurt yes. I love the covers and the artwork. I feel the same now when I look at the old ones as I did when I first unwrapped them on Christmas Day morning. I still reread them from time to time. I will never ever get rid of them
A fun look at all of these annuals in one place. I thought of trying to build my own collection, but I’ve always had a stronger affinity towards the Target books. I’m enjoying that high quality PDFs of the annuals are in the Collection box sets, so I think that will have to do for me. Concerning the likenesses of some of the companions in the annuals, I recall hearing that they didn’t always license the use of the actor’s likeness. While they used the character’s name, the illustrations looked nothing like the actor for some of the years. For other years, it appeared they licensed the actor’s image. (Of course, they always had to draw the Doctor to look like the actor or else nobody would buy the annuals!)
Having them as pdf files on the Blu-ray sets is fantastic. Some of these books are getting really expensive these days and it's an ideal way to enjoy the content without breaking the bank.

i bought the 1970 annual some years ago but sadly some child used a sharp instrument to poke hole sall over the cover ( it was the only one i could get at the time being the rare pink annual). Some have inscribed "to ...... from uncle and auntie" on the inside with the price clipped out. Or the crosswords and puzzles filled in lol

The white spine "variation" on the pink Pertwee annual is just sun-faded from the pink spined ones. There was only one print run.
