  • I have received requests to demonstrate how the wick self watering works. All you need is a string and a container your plant will rest in without touching the bottom. The string will to do the trick, it will pull water up into the soil until its moist.

    Hi Moira 👋🏻 I haven’t tried the wicking method for watering but it looks like it would definitely be a great alternative for when you know you’re going to be unable to do it yourself for a couple of days, perfect 👍🏻 Your ferns are so beautiful, love that Blue Star Fern, all three are so healthy looking and pretty😍. Hope your week is going well, friend❣️🙏🏻🍃💕

    Nice one Moira , I killed my blue fern and I’m hoping to get new one someday . I like the idea you have I should try the same next time . Your lightning is great I don’t think it’s bad you have very nice natural lightning in your home . Thank you always for sharing Moira . 😘

      Thank you Myra. You must definitely try it out again, the blue star fern, it's a beautiful fern. And thanks for the comment on my lighting, it means a lot to hear from someone else what they make of the lighting. Very kind of you. 😘😘😘

    Hi - I am unable to find the plastic attachment piece that you use with your wicks.... can you share a link on where to buy?

    Does the wick need to go up to very near the soil surface? What kind of string is that - macrame cord? Do you find a thick cord is better?

      It doesn't have to. Wherether it goes all the way to the top or just halfway to the middle of the pot, it works.
      I use macrame cord. I prefer a thick string like what I am using, not a thin one because it takes long for it to decompose in the soil. I am sure one can go thicker, but this has always worked for me.

    Do all ferns like self watering pots? I’m about to switch all of mine…

    • @bringlifeindoors2370
      @bringlifeindoors2370  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they love it, because they don't like to dry out completely. For all my ferns, I am using a self watering system now, and they love it, they are thriving. I wish I did the switch earlier. All the best 🌱

    Where can you get those clips? Can't find on amazon..

      Most garden shop sells them. If you struggle to find them, you can take a string weave through the hole of the pot and hold it up, add soil and plant. It works just the same. 😍
