Rosetta Grows I have one that has been on the struggle bus since January. I was so excited as I’ve heard they were easy to care for before but I just learned they are epiphytes so I tried repotting in a slightly airer soil and giving slightly more light by relocating to the bathroom with a bonus being the humidity as well. Hopefully he’ll rebound!
I have one that is struggling because the nursery planted it in pure soil. So I decided to plant it in in orchid bark mix and it’s way better now. I have mine near a west facing window but their is a small forest covering the full sun from that window dappled light! It’s looking good.
thank you soo much! I watched your video to understand how to repot my 4 inch blue star! I used orchid mix and spaghum. thanks for all your tips!! very helpful video
Your fern looks awesome! I love that you are able to keep it outside. I don't have any ferns since I live in Phoenix, I'm hesitant to get one. But, I may try this variety. Thanks so much for sharing!
I have one of these in the Chihuahua desert, but indoors with a couple of humidifiers running 24/7. It's really the only way I can have indoor plants here. It does very well.
oh ive got one from there, too! mine died down a lot, and now its tiny and fine since ive figured out how to care for it better... but.... its not doing ANYTHING, lol. it would be 50 years to get this big as this rate, lol! :D ATX here!
i can testify that these are VERY easy care plants.. ive been going thru all the plants i impulse bought over 2 months ago and didnt water after the first week (lol) and aside from some dead leaves….. its completely fine and thriving 3 days after watering it 😭
I’m glad I saw this. I just got a 6” blue star fern from Trader Joe’s tonight for $7.99 It was so cute I couldn’t leave it there but wasn’t sure how to care for it. Thanks for the info.
Fantastic video! Been worried about mine that’s struggling post repotting and wish I’d seen this earlier! Could you suggest a good time for repotting? Thanks xx
Such a nicely done video, you have earned a new subscriber out of me! I am a new plant lady and I can’t wait to see more of your content, I’ve been wondering about repotting my blue star fern, this has been super helpful!
I’m rescuing my fern & I can’t find anything on what to do with the scorched leaves. Do I pull or cut out the whole leaf? Should I just cut the burned edges? I need info!!
When the rhizomes start growing outside of the pot does that mean a replant? And if so, do we put them under the soil in the new pot? I noticed one growing a leaf
I believe your narrative and your guidelines for its care are only useful to you and only you. For the simple reason, that every household plant habitat is different, mainly the light and humidity conditions. You as most plant enthusiasts are making one fundamental mistake that is, we are not told where you live (just a nearby town name would be useful) and a description of plants' place in your home. All this is extremely important for knowing what I can expect with the same plant but a very different home habitat. (Now I see there is your base mentioned above so consider this suggestion meant for other future plant videographers).
I have something I think might be a Blue Star Fern, complete with furry rhizome. But it's just one long leaf and not star-shaped. Is it still a Blue Star Fern in that case?
It's All Primary good question! I don’t have chewing animals, (or people!) so I forget to keep this in mind. There is not a lot of info about blue Star ferns specifically, but other ferns that are similar are non toxic. Use that info as you will!
I bought this tree today❤️ But without knowing the name☺️ Then I started looking for the name of the tree than I find you❤️ It's so ridiculous that even the nursery man doesn't know the name of the tree😊 All is well ❤️
Gorgeous plant! You obviously know what you are doing but...I'm honestly shocked that you simply took the rootbound plant and dropped it into the next size up pot? I always thought one had to first pry the tightly wound roots open a bit....I myself often use a mini dowel...chopping in an upward direction into the root ball....loosening the soil.... they eventually coaxing the roots in a more outward direction...maybe even giving some of the roots a small trip...before then putting it into its new pot.
Hi I need help here. I received my blue star fern a month ago from online purchase. It took about 5 days to arrive. Some of the leaves have brown tip and until today my plant keep adding new brown tip and some of the leaves just fall off including the young shoots. I don't know what to do. Is my plant still recovering from shipment shock or is dying slowly? I really hope it won't die.
Are you growing Blue Star Fern? How is yours growing?

kj I’ll bet it does! They definitely dint want to sit in a lot of wet soil. Maximize the light, if you can!

Lovebug7 so smart. Yes, they don’t like that dense soil. And LOTS of light. I bet yours grows big too!
I have mine for a year or so, less light and good drainage soil along with exposing the rhizomes seemes to help a lot.
thank you soo much! I watched your video to understand how to repot my 4 inch blue star! I used orchid mix and spaghum. thanks for all your tips!! very helpful video
Love that she covered everything about this plant! Lol she’s funny too it totally looks like she’s in a jungle that plant is gorgeous
Lovebug7 well thank you so much 🥰

Carmen Whitehead oh dang. Yeah, I guess they would be too roasty toasty there outside!

Yes To Tech they are such great plants!
I bought one from HEB Mike and Miles foliage. I did not know it gets massive like that.

They definitely can if you give them nice, bright light! They grow fast!
Oh man! I'm sorry it wasn't going so well. The more indoor light you can give them, the happier they will be!

The rhizomes are not disgusting to me. To each their own.
