Just got my results: 7.0/7.5/8.0/9.0 (W/S/L/R) overall 8.0. One month of preparation, mostly from E2 videos and mock tests. Good luck to all future candidates :)
Got my IELTS results! L: 8.5; R: 9; S: 8; W: 7.5; overall: 8.5 😭 Edit: Since some people keep asking - I’m not literally crying; as a matter of fact, I’m very happy with my scores. The crying emoji doesn’t necessarily mean sadness or actual crying. It is often used as part of pop culture lingo when you want to express something that made you very ecstatic that you cry from happiness.
Listening and Reading: Always look out for words and phrases in the questions that mean almost the same as the words/phrases used in the passage/audio script. That’s how you can identify answers quickly and accurately. Speaking: Speak at length for as long as possible but if you think you’ll hesitate because you lack ideas about that particular question or topic, it’s best to organise your thoughts into a concise talk rather than hesitate for a long time. A one-minute fluent talk is preferable to a two-minute talk with a lot of self-corrections and pauses. For the 1-2-minute speaking task, I spoke for just 1 minute because I knew that I had no further ideas to continue. My examiner prompted me to continue speaking if I wanted to, but I told him that I had covered all my points. I’m very introverted and my nervousness got the best of me! I occasionally fumbled for words despite knowing what to say, so don’t feel pressured to talk a lot if you’re uncomfortable. Also, you’re allowed to make stuff up lol. You don’t have to give very factual or honest answers as long as whatever crap you spew makes sense grammatically haha. Writing: Spellings and punctuations are imp! I’m sure I made a lot of typing mistakes so write until the required length and make sure you have enough time to re-read. I ended up writing 210 words for Task 1 (letter) and 450 words for Task 2 (essay) with very little time to proofread. As long as you meet the minimum word limits, don’t bother writing novels. Just make sure that your paragraphs flow naturally and that each paragraph has a central theme. Learn a bunch of fancy descriptive words that could be used in most contexts (e.g. fastidious, camaraderie, dichotomy, quintessential, harbinger, paradox, perfunctory, revel, ubiquitous). Use plenty of connectors (therefore, however, moreover, furthermore). Good luck!
@@lazizbek2929 lmao why would anyone lie about their results on a random video? I found this channel immensely helpful for my IELTS preparation and frequented here quite often. But I’m kind of flattered that you think my results are too good to be true; I was pretty bummed out about my slightly low writing score lol
For all the doubters out there: I was pretty demotivated throughout my preparation for this exam. I just didn't show any sign of progress or improvement. Still, I continued practicing and watching videos from this chanel. What I'm about to tell you is important. I only had a month to prepare. By actually watching these videos and trying to understand the way in which I have to think to answer correctly I improved my score, in reading at least, from 6.0-6.5 to a staggering 8.5. I got a band 8.0 and wasn't expecting anything higher than a 6.5 or 7.0. However demoralized you might feel, keep practicing, keep pushing through. Trust the process.
Its been just 4 days since I started preparation and I don't feel very confident now. I know its too early to assess what I am capable of but still its terrifying. Comments like yours really helps boost confidence. Thank you so much.
This is hands down the best reading video tip and trick I have come across. I had less than a week to prepare for my exam, but after watching this video, I completed my reading and still had about 10 minutes to spare. I took my test yesterday on the 13th of January 2024, and I'll be back on the 26th of January with good news. Thanks to you, Jay, and your team for all you do. January 26th... Listening 7.5, reading 7.0, writing 7.5, speaking 7.5. Overall: 7.5

Hi E2 family. I just got my results some minutes ago, scored 8.0 overall in ielts academic on my first attempt. I couldn't have done it without you guys, I am super grateful. The writing was a bit of a shock though, I had prepared for graphs and charts but the question was on periodic landscape analysis. If you're here, please register with E2 for preparations, these guys are the best.
I had only 2 weeks to prepare for IELTS academic and E2 IELTS free TH-cam videos helped me a great deal. I used videos from other channels but these guys were my main tutors. I thank you for the free content and I should make a little donation. You’re the best all across the globe. A few days ago I took the IELTS for my first time in history after having prepared for only two weeks, left alone in my room and revising your TH-cam Tutos. Here I’m I L:7.5, R: 8.5, W: 6.5 S: 8 Overall: 7.5 I met my required score: 6.0 and I’m so excited. Thanks very much and good luck to everyone going for the IELTS exam.
Quite frankly I will say that there is a technique in reading the IELTS during the exam First thing to know: you don’t have to read everything to get the points Second: you don’t necessarily have to understand what the passage is all about 3rd you don’t have to read all the text before attempting to the questions because some questions are obvious but always check these obvious questions because they could be specific and therefore a trick. Now try to practice a lot as much as you can with the reading: What you do is you start by reading the questions and browse over the answers to retain the ones you can retain, Then read a paragraph: the two first sentences and the two last sentences are usually more than enough to know what the paragraph is about and answer the questions correctly. Then after that you can read over the passage and it will be even easier since you already have an idea. But know that each section you should apply slightly different approaches. This approach worked for me and may not necessarily work for you so please try to practice as much as you can and figure out which approach suits you best and enables you to achieve what you’re satisfied with.
GoodLuck😊! Don’t worry that much coz the IELTS is pretty easy but you have to work hard for it to seem easy as well. Also if your previous education was in English then you shouldn’t worry that much I think if not you just need to work hard. They are trying to access your English skills in an academic context.

hey congrats! would you mind telling what all you exactly did for your preparations? I'm giving my IELTS exam soon and I'm a bit nervous ngl and confused with where I should start from and what all I need to prepare as I haven't done anything
@@OfficialGamingNerdPrepare for each section separately. For listening 3 to 4 mock tests should be enough. Same goes with reading. For writing and speaking, I had to put in more effort because it's more of making things up and delivering a coherent story. And that story should employ all the complex sentence structures, certain phrases, idioms and so on. So it's very important to know what the examiners expect from you and your answers and frame your narrative around that. Speaking and writing tips on this channel are helpful. Ypu might wanna give them a try.

Was surprised by it but I just keep talking normally. im sure i was rambling because for all 3 sections the examiner had to stop me. Reading: skim through the questions, then read. It’ll help remind which paragraph to refer to when you tackle the questions. Dont get hung up on one question. If you are not confident in your answer, move on and come back to it later. I had enough time to recheck my answers (especially ones im not confident) 3-4 times Listening: focus focus focus, dont get distracted. The answers are almost always straight to the point. Writing: for task 1 (academic), look up words to describe trends in charts. Other than that, paraphrase and use synonyms. My task one was about population per square km and in city. you can use terms like urbanites, population density, people living in cities, etc. Try to highlight interesting things (i think alex or jay mentioned this). Wrote around 350 words Task 2 was asked to give opinions. I structured paragraph one to be overview, paragraph 2 being for and paragraph 3 being its against. Closed with paragraph 4. I think you should always give opinions, the whys and example. Try to change structure of your sentence (jay mentioned this). Wrote like 750+ Sorry writing on my phone. All the best!!

It was the first time that I really enjoyed solving reading tests here thanks for this content and I hope there will be more videos like this in the future
I got band 9 in reading - academic - and my approach was to go through the whole passage while keeping in mind the questions need to be answered; the first question of each questionnaire's given was read in advance, and later once found the place in which any answer was supposed to be found was the way to move forward. I used to finish the first passage in 15min, the second in 16, and the last one 18min. I did nothing that you are telling. The powers you need if your English is proficient are: consistency, confidence, patience, stamina, and not-giving-up as English is the last one to resort to. No offense, just a personal point of view. I enjoyed the process without caring for the band, and within no time, I was able to finish the passage with no mistake.
Thank you, Jay! You are an amazing coach. I am going to appear for my IELTS next week and I have being studying through your videos which are beyond helpful. You rock! ❤

How did you do it. Any help pls

Good luck!
@@lazizbek2929 ??? What?
@@lazizbek2929 lmao why would anyone lie about their results on a random video? I found this channel immensely helpful for my IELTS preparation and frequented here quite often. But I’m kind of flattered that you think my results are too good to be true; I was pretty bummed out about my slightly low writing score lol
For all the doubters out there:
I was pretty demotivated throughout my preparation for this exam.

A few days ago I took the IELTS for my first time in history after having prepared for only two weeks, left alone in my room and revising your TH-cam Tutos.
Here I’m I
L:7.5, R: 8.5, W: 6.5 S: 8
Overall: 7.5
I met my required score: 6.0 and I’m so excited.
Thanks very much and good luck to everyone going for the IELTS exam.
Plz tell me how you guys get the most in reading?
Plz share your schedule
Quite frankly I will say that there is a technique in reading the IELTS during the exam
First thing to know: you don’t have to read everything to get the points
Second: you don’t necessarily have to understand what the passage is all about
3rd you don’t have to read all the text before attempting to the questions because some questions are obvious but always check these obvious questions because they could be specific and therefore a trick.
Now try to practice a lot as much as you can with the reading:
What you do is you start by reading the questions and browse over the answers to retain the ones you can retain,
Then read a paragraph: the two first sentences and the two last sentences are usually more than enough to know what the paragraph is about and answer the questions correctly.
@@bradleykingston551 thanks man. I appreciate the help.
GoodLuck😊! Don’t worry that much coz the IELTS is pretty easy but you have to work hard for it to seem easy as well. Also if your previous education was in English then you shouldn’t worry that much I think if not you just need to work hard. They are trying to access your English skills in an academic context.

Best of luck
Just came here to thank you guys at E2 especially Jay and Alex. Scheduled a last minute exam (3 days prep) and managed to get R:9, L:8 (i actually zoned out during test), W: 7.5, S: 8. Thx again for the tips :D!
Gongrats how you study to write section?
Congratulations. Can you share with me what tricks you used in your ielts exam. Reply soonnnn.
@@alhamgawad1318 i did academics and for the first take i looked up vocabs to describe trends and charts. The second task i made sure to create a draft prior to writing and dont mix my arguments together.
@@sumaiyasanoon6506 speaking: just relax. Talk as if you are talking to a friend (eventhough it was a zoom call haha)
I had to talk about a time when I had a long queue.
I had enough time to recheck my answers (especially ones im not confident) 3-4 times
Listening: focus focus focus, dont get distracted.
Wrote around 350 words
Task 2 was asked to give opinions. I structured paragraph one to be overview, paragraph 2 being for and paragraph 3 being its against. Closed with paragraph 4. I think you should always give opinions, the whys and example. Try to change structure of your sentence (jay mentioned this). Wrote like 750+
Sorry writing on my phone. All the best!!

Hello please I am in Ghana too can you help me with reading please
Wow! Congratulations! Pls tell me how can you get that amazing score!
Hi.I'm new here. And i'm from Bangladesh as knew. I 'v been doing Ielts for few days. So I think this channel will be more helpful for me.
Can you help me please
