It's crazy to think how many 84mm Vics with scissors are out there sitting in drawers with the owners having no idea how sought after they are. If you consider the production numbers, they are by no means rare, just hard to come by these days. The average consumer who purchased these just thinks "Swiss Army Knife", with no thought to 84/91mm or how coveted certain models are. Spot on review as always. I picked up one of these and it became an instant favorite. Like a Sportsman X.
Excellent video! I have a Wenger Traveler, and love it! Scissors in 85mm are a great thing! Wenger was always innovating. I wish they were still around.
The thing with the 85 mm scissor mashine breaking is only a rumor. They most likely stoped producing them because a low sale of 85 mm knifes with scissor just like they have stoped making the Turist and the Tinker small now.
Which is why we unfortunately will likely never see a CadetX. Fix that machine Victorinox! 🙂 Nice Traveler! Some of the Evolution and Evogrip models are decent replacements for the demise of the Traveler. Good video.
It's technically not discontinued but still available as the Evo 14 in the Victorinox Delemont series with the evogrip handles, and they even do the S14 variant which features a locking blade
I just found one on ebay btw, still in the package brand new and was able to be snag it with a $23 bid! I was shocked I got it for so cheap, especially because used one can go for that much. I really want to use it but I'm wondering how much it would be worth in a few years if I left it in the original packaging🤔
That is an interesting Swiss Army style knife. I agree if going to say Swiss Army Knife it would be a Victorinox. Not a bad tool set. However as a traveler I believe unless was checked in luggage TSA would keep it because of the blade. I do believe there is a SAK made that the TSA won't have an issue with and I thought it was called a Traveler obviously I am wrong. Good looking Wegner you have there. Thanks for sharing Mark.
I get wanting to keep it in good shape but honestly I would really want to carry it and enjoy having it. if it gets scratches or dinged up, Victorinox will repair it.
@@paddymurphy-oconnor8255 I attempted to send a few Wengers for new scales and they couldn't do it here in the US. They told me it would have to be shipped to Switzerland and would be more expensive due to sending it overseas. I would contact them and check though. That was at least a year ago.

That miss-cast backspring freaked me out, never seen that before. Thanks for the brilliant video, you are the SAK guru.

I have the S14. Very good knife, plus tweezers and tooth pick
I have the same knife but mine has a crosshead screwdriver instead of the corkscrew. What model would mine be ?.
Thank you

The jetsetter I believe is the only one that is TSA approved

Would Victorinox have spare Wenger scales? I would doubt it.
