I thought the 2000 was ringspun and the 5000 was not? The 2000 is definitely softer feeling, and just a tiny hair thicker. I have printed on both of these and I can easily tell the difference. Also, I would never compare these to Bella 3001 or Next Level 3600. Those are lightweight shirts. This is a mid-heavyweight. On our site we have both a lightweight and a heavyweight option because some people HATE the lightweight shirts and say the feel cheap. So, not a great comparison. I so think the 5000 is crap though, and the 2000 is much better. A higher quality heavy tee would be the comfort colors he suggests, and also the Hanes Beefy 5180 which is also ringspun.
The only heavyweight Gildan that are of high quality are the Gildan Hammer tee and The Gildan 65000 in terms of quality and smooth printing. The other too are cared -open end cotton Walmart brand.
And if you decide to sell the Comfort Colors 1717 (which can be found for around 16 euros on POD sites), what do you estimate is a good selling price for this quality of t-shirt and to have a comfortable margin? That customers are satisfied with the quality/price ratio?
Do you have a video like this with sweatshirts or long sleeve tees? I am just starting out and not sure which products to pick to put my designs on. This video was very helpful. Thank you!
Hey, Kerry. Do you have any recommendations on a BOXY TEE blank for POD? I am seeing this option available on some websites I am watching in my niche but not finding it in Gelato or Printful.
The current trendy “boxy” tee is the Comfort Colors 1717, customers like to size up. You can also try the Shaka Wear SHGDD with Gelato which is very loose and boxy, drop sleeves.

Thank you for the information. You answered several questions I had about T-shirt printing. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you - I was wondering about the different options. Appreciate it very much.
You're very welcome!
A valuable test I’d love to see is multiple washings to see how the print holds up over time on the various fabrics.
Thank you for the feedback!

Apliiq doesn’t have this for dtg. Only for dtf and embroidery
from my view the 2000 print looks more vibrant

Damn bro get to the point. We get it, the branding is confusing.
