      The real issue is all the voters who make dumb choices, or who get blinded by superstardom. Just put all the factors together, and make an intelligent choice about who you think deserves to be an MVP, or who you think deserves to be on the first team all nba. Why is that so hard?
      Like, if you can just make an honest fucking decision based off all the factors, and use durability as one of the factors, then there shouldn’t be an issue.

      They did 65 since embiids won the MVP last year and the NBA knows they would have gotten heat if they made it higher when the MVP didn't even play the minimum number. His mvp last year was already an asterisk with how much he begged for it when we all know it was jokics.
      Can't deny what embiids is doing this season (with his flopping and refs are calling it) but it's 100% not working in the playoffs. Too many eyes on playoff games and they aren't going to call flopping for bad publicity. It's already bad enough

    @ljtowers5161 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Ever since I saw Embiid play around 6 years ago, I've always inevitably compared him to jokic and said that the best ability is availability. It doesn't matter how good you are if you are always on the bench hurt. Joel Embiid's playing style is uncontrolled and dangerous and the main reason he gets injured. He falls 10 times in a game while Jokic falls about 1 time every 20 games. Joel flops dramatically many times a game while Jokic also flops but he just does an arm flail instead of falling on the floor on most flops. Jokic doesn't sprain an ankle cause he doesn't even jump, Joel likes to slam the ball and jump as high as he can. That's a lot of pressure on his knees. It's hard being an Embiid fan just like it's hard being an AD fan.
    I've always said this too, I think Jokic will remain dominant for longer than Joel will because while Embiid relies heavily on his physical ability, athleticism and jumpshooting, as players get older, their jumpshot is affected cause they can't jump like they used to and their game worsens cause they're not as athletic, physically dominant nor have the stamina. Jokic relies on his basketball IQ, his witts, his craftiness and his passing which will only get better with age. Also he doesn't even have a jumpshot for it to decline cause just heaves it and barely gets off the ground. His playstyle may be boring but in the long run I believe it will prove to be more lasting.

    That said, if you're trying to play through injuries, it's 100% your decision, whether it's because you want eligibility for more money next contract or a trophy/title. Regardless, you're not going to be starving if you pause to let your injury heal, it's just a matter of wanting more than your body can provide.
