I made this yesterday and sold it at a market literally as soon as I put it up for sale. Thank you for a fantastic pattern. Best seller lol as soon as it was bought two other people said they wanted one.
I made this twice, and the second time I accidentally skipped rows 19-22 in the body which made it come out a lot smaller, but I think it enhanced the cuteness factor 🎉😍 This was such a fun project and by following this video first and then the PDF, I have been able to practice reading patterns. Thank you for this!!!!
See that’s the best part about patterns. Once you get confident enough then you can experiment with patterns and do what you think looks best. And someday maybe even create your own patterns! I’m so glad this has helped you so much ❤
Thank you for this pattern, I crocheted my Pikachu and it turned up absolutely adorable *-* I hope you will continue making new tutorials, it's amazing :)
A trick to make a maklgic ring with this yarn is to make a loop with similar colored thread, crochet the yarn around it, pull the thread to close the ring and tie it.
This pattern is adorable!! My husband and I recently started watching the original Pokémon and I am now a fan. Thank you for this pattern and tutorial. I really hope you make more and keep going!!
This was my first crochet project. I will be looking forward to crochet the Charmander and the Squirtel for my brother too. Pls never stop making videos 🫶🏼
Honestly it really just takes some practice. I am the same with fluffy yarn. If you really want to give it a go you can place a stitch marker in every stitch so you know 100% where they all are. But I’d recommend starting with acrylic yarn because it’s a lot easier to see the stitches - it’ll still come out super cute! ☺️
Idk if it's the same for you, but I adjusted my tightness and can see my stitches better now. I realized they all looked blended because I was over tightening! Hope it helps. I am sorry if it does not. :(
@@TashsCrochetthis is such a good idea!! Omg 😱 lol I’m struggling in other projects on what stitches to go into after you turn your work. I saw in a tutorial on another video that you’re supposed to chain one then turn and skip that stitch. My work keeps coming out jagged even if I’m just making a normal swatch.
I have made a few pikachu’s over the years and this is by far the best pattern. Came out really good. Thank you pls made more Pokémons as I would like to ‘make em all’ 😂

As in sewing the extra limbs on? Yeah of course! I always tend to skip those bits as I always thought people didn’t want to see but I’ll include them from now on 😊
Dec is 2 stitches are places in one spot yes? Nvm I think I saw you do it, you sc- then yarn over again and pull through, so instead of two sc in one stitch it yarn over then yarn over (twice) then pull through and continue? And thank you for this tutorial it really helped me visualize patterns and how they come together. I’m getting so excited because I’m finally getting it. I haven’t been this excited for anything in a while lol. Eek!
Hey! So when you’re decreasing you are turning 2 stitches into 1 - by pulling through two hoops and then yarn over and through both of them. It’s always much harder to explain through text but if you need extra visuals there’s plenty of tutorials online 😊 and I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I love crochet because it’s truly magical being able to create whatever you want with just a hook and yarn!
Actually that’s all I did, the brown part was the only bit I attached to the body and it stays upright like that. I really made sure to attach it well though so it doesn’t come loose ☺️🫶🏼
Love the tutorial. ❤ I plan on making this with 4 ply yarn (Hook size 3.5 - 4.00 mm). What should I do differently when I'm adding more rows to get to this size?
Hmm it’s quite difficult when you’re sizing up a pattern. I don’t know for sure.. but possibly if you add a row of sc in between each row I have written it could increase the size. Or harder but definitely works you can keep increasing the head size. So for example to make a circle you do the typical e.g (3 sc, inc ) but just keep going all the way up to e.g (10 sc, inc). You’ll have to be mindful to increase the amount of inc for the cheek sizes so it’s proportional, same for the body. So long story short it can be quite tedious and difficult to modify a pattern 😁 but if you’re experienced then it should be ok to do ❤️🫶🏼
@@TashsCrochet Hi, thank you for your reply. I actually made it last night. Used a 4 mm hook with my 4 ply milk cotton yarn and your patters worked great for me. I didn't actually have to change much. In 2-3 places I added an extra row but that's about it. Loved the outcome. Thank you for your tutorial. ❤
Do you have a video of you doing the magic ring using a chain? I have a plush yarn that breaks on me everytime I try and do it the other way, but I can't seem to find a video that shows how to do it.
Hmm yarn that breaks can be very fussy! Try doing 2 chain and then putting all your sc into that first stitch in the chain. Try searching up slip ring tutorials. There’s a few out there but can be quite difficult to understand visually - even for me! @@wetnoodle5990 Hi there! For the head (round 18), instead of "(SC, INC) X 7". Tasha meant "(SC, INC) X 14" - until the round is completed. I hope this helps!
Oh of course! The female pika has like a little heart shaped part of the tail! That could definitely be created using some increase and decrease rows in the last section of the tail. I can give it a go and write it in the comments if you’re interested ☺️

Hi!! So there’s two methods. In the video I used the excess yarn to sew the two pieces together. But if you’re not so keen on sewing you can always crochet the two together around the outside 🫶🏼
Hi! Yeah it can be quite difficult. You have to sew it on and you can choose to do that with the same yarn or some thinner thread to do it. Or if you hate sewing you can always glue it on 😆

I’m not sure what you mean, you can complete this with any type of yarn whether it’s acrylic, natural, chunky or chenille - so long as you’re using the correct crochet hook size for your yarn (which is usually on the ball of yarn description but I always like to size down to ensure there’s no gaps in my work ☺️)
I used less than 200g of yarn for the yellow but it’s always better to have more than you need so you don’t play yarn roulette! 😅 I have quite a tight tension so I don’t tend to have any gaps which also means I use less yarn ❤
@@moi_94 it’s much better to have a tighter tension, when it’s too lose you get big gaps in your work. As long as you’re not breaking your yarn and it’s not too difficult to get your hook through the stitches it’s fine 😁
