懐かしいなぁ。この曲初めて聞いたのが当時アメリカで学生してた頃。
とても新鮮だった。もう30年位前。
レイもいつの間にか他界していて......。ちょっと青春の頃を思い出しました。

I was named after by this song born in Japan. My parents used to listen to this song in car dating and they decided to name thier daughter Ellie when they have a girl :) I really miss my parents so much, living overseas now away from Japan..

I'm in the same boat as you, but I never lived in Japan, I learned the Japanese version and saw Southern all stars perform in a battle of the bands years ago on the island of Guam, Cocos Island, I performed this song for the Japanese tourist during our dinner shows, this is the first time Im hearing an english version and sung by the legend himself, Ray Charles
Rays version helped me understand the Japanese lyrics better, this and SAS version are great.
