You call grabbing a set 86 87 or 88 cartridge forks easy,? First try and find a set then come out your wallet like 1500..them another 800 or so to valve and rebuilt😊
I had a 1984 cr500 in 1986 it was done to the nuts full on race bike...the bike had zero problems" I was 147lbs ..and the suspension worked amazing....I jumped that bike over 200 ft a couple of hundred times...with out even thinking about it! I did over jump that jump a few times and ended up breaking the rear suspension...but it was well abused lol!
The 84 is air cooled, while the kawasaki is liquid cooled. I have an 84 cr500. I haven't had much time to ride it yet, but it can be a little hard to start and the powerband is explosive and touchy. These are overpowered bikes with more power than you can use and honestly, they are dangerous. Expect to get hurt and take the time to get to know the bike. It broke my arm, I'm still recovering months later.
@@ericandrews1661 I went with the kx in the end as it was in better condition and not much more expensive I raced mx for a few years and b class hare and hounds mostly on 2 strokes. Husqvarna tx 300 2018 is my choice bike for this type of racing. Only going to have the occasional spin on the kx I’m not going to take it to the mx track as already have bad injuries from years of it
3 easy fixes for that awesome bike for all owners. 1. 86 and newer forks, 2. Cylinder head mod. 3. Shock work. Boom a great classic.
