YES! I remember riding this in 1995. When we went to Hell at the end, my neighbor said, "So, you whizzed on the electric fence, didn't you?" (a reference to Ren and Stimpy.) I died laughing. Oh, and during the train scene, she yelled "OH, LOOK OUT LOOK OUT LOOK OUT LOOK OUT LOOK OUT...!" (a reference to a 1976 Saturday Night Live episode where the female cast members were singing a song and Laraine Newman uttered this during the song's spoken interlude.) When we went back in 1999, it'd been replaced by Pooh. But both of us didn't mind; the Heffalumps and Woozles were like LSD to us.
My Dad convinced me that i was actually driving that car. I was always mortified but tried my best. 😂 Ducked completely when we had the train track. 😣🚆😂
Thanks for a great video. Mr. Toad may not have the glitz and glamour of Soarin' or Test Track, but it was a cool ride. My family and I always reminisce when we see him at HM.
Hope we'll be seeing Track B too! Now that the Virtual Toad project alas looks kaput forever, seeing greater quality video like this is the only real way we'll ever get to re-experience this ride.
Mike, this is perhaps the best Toad video I have ever seen in terms of clarity and brightness (and I have seen probably a dozen different ones over the years). I saw a lot of interior details that had only been dark and fuzzy before. Well done, my friend!
This ride was brilliant two adventures that at points look about to collide, you never knew where the track was going because the doors were indistinguishable from things in the rooms. All the while you can hear the ominous train whistle foreshadowing the inevitable. And if thats not enough your driving is so reckless both jail and hell spat you back out.
I had thr liberty of seeing some of these props in real life in person, outside of ride, including a Mr. Toad car, Satan, a few devils, and the clock with wall decorations.
Thanks Eric! My video capture hardware is crap but so was the camcorder I had back then. A few videos turned out pretty good. I'll look for Track B with the light mount next.
We should create a petition to replace that stupid princess meet and greet building in the Magic Kingdom with an updated version of Mr. Toads Wild Ride!
Luckily I had only one Chance to go Mr. Toads Wild Ride At Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom While going all the way Back to when I was in Middle School And While now sadly it’s gone and doesn’t exist anymore and that Ride was a Legacy with Walt Disney World’s Beginning In The Year 1971 !!!!!!!!!!!! 😉😉😉😉😉🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
I vaguely recall a kid trying to walk on top of the queue handrails and an operator trying to get there before he fell off. It must have been this time. He would have had to do it quickly so there wouldn't be a car backup on his side of the ride.
So this ride was dropped in favor of Winnie the Pooh; well, IMO the character certainly lives up to his name, if you get my drift. This ride was such a classic; Mr. Toad rules.
Reference to "The Wind in the Willows" where in the beginning, an illustration can be seen of him hunting an animal. They most likely reused the cast from when they replicated the ride for the Magic Kingdom
On a Disney World special television type of event Kermit the Frog states that Mr. Toad is a cousin of his. I think it was a Christmas parade event from quite a few years ago.
@AnimeboiMarc And yet it remained a popular ride for its entire duration. The decision to take it out was a greedy one. It wasn't a high maintenenance affair (like 20,000 Leagues was). The Pooh ride is a great dark ride in its own right but it misses the creativity and charm of Toad. What other ride in the history of the world has you die and go to hell as its final movement?
the basic idea is that mr toad obtai,ed a motorcar and breaks the law by making chaos and driving it around. police attempt to stop you so you flea into the railroad tracks, get hit by attain and go to hell after your death. Not really like the movie
What you experience in the Magic Kingdom ride isn't actually real; it's Toad's dream after the Wind in the Willows, hence why Toad sees hell at the end.
About why I don't like the ride? Well, my Dad got me to ride it when I was six thinking I would like it but its fast, and chaotic nature proved to be too much for me on top of the fact that I didn't know this movie so the characters were not familiar at all. All this caused the ride to scare the crap out of me. My sister was on the other track at the same time and says I was screaming so loud she could hear me XD So I wasn't sad when this ride closed. I welcomed Pooh and like it way more
When I was a kid in the 60s-70s, the one at Disneyland was the scariest ride to me...even worse than The Haunted Mansion. And I knew the characters! I really thought I was gonna get hit by the train! :D Even seeing this version now at 58...I was just a little kid back then who didn't know any better; I got over that fear real quick.
I loved this ride when I was small. Too bad this was closed down to make room for the Pooh ride, which sucks compared to this classic. But fortunately I got to reexperience it when I went to Disneyland last spring break :)
@Dragonrider1227 Not trying to be mean here, but don't you know that the purpose of this ride is that you could experience a crazy adventure? II'm not saying that you should be changing your opinion, if you don't like it, just don't like it. I'm just saying, the ride was MEANT to be caotic.
When Disney is closing Mr. Toads wild ride Fans: Save Mr. Toads wild ride now! Or I wasted my life! Person: Go to hell.
Me: Sorry, I can't. Disney took Mr. Toad away years ago.
The ride is still in DisneyLAND, so you can still go.
My left ear loved this.
@tinylilmatt Also for me I can't hear anything on my right earphone only on my left
The Hell sequence gets me every time, it's just so absurd and unpredicted!
I just wanna say... Thank You....just Thank You.....Mr. Toad forever!

I fucking loved the Pooh ride and especially the Heffalumps and Woozles scene.
Don't worry you can ride in it in Anaheim
I'd be singing "Can You Trip Like I Do" by Filter and Crystal Method.
@@NF-lu3jt WAIT! Are you saying that The 1971 version of "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" Is still open in Anaheim!?
@@jojomayard7233 Yes, and it’s been around since Disneyland opened in 1955
My Dad convinced me that i was actually driving that car. I was always mortified but tried my best. 😂

easter egg: Stromboli from Pinocchio at 1:23 and that is his puppet wagon.
Thanks for a great video. Mr. Toad may not have the glitz and glamour of Soarin' or Test Track, but it was a cool ride. My family and I always reminisce when we see him at HM.

to all who long for the nostalgia of going on mr toad's wild ride
take comfort in knowing it is still operational in disneyland- cali
I had thr liberty of seeing some of these props in real life in person, outside of ride, including a Mr. Toad car, Satan, a few devils, and the clock with wall decorations.
Thanks for posting, brought back memories. I liked this ride. I remember hell being wicked hot
This ride used to scare me so much at 7. I thought I actually was gonna get hit by the train! :D I miss this ride.
lol
I thought you would be scared of the hell scene.
I laughed because my neighbor quoted Laraine Newman from SNL ("Oh, look out look out look out look out look out...!")
I wish WDW still had this- I loved this when I went at 8 years old..:(
I came to rememeber your comment
Thanks Eric! My video capture hardware is crap but so was the camcorder I had back then. A few videos turned out pretty good. I'll look for Track B with the light mount next.
1:59 Is that what I think it is? XD
yes - I caught that too....
LMAO!!
We should create a petition to replace that stupid princess meet and greet building in the Magic Kingdom with an updated version of Mr. Toads Wild Ride!
yeah
This
True!
I miss going to hell...I really wish I had been able to buy one of the little devils after it closed, I love them!

2:38 "Is Spawn here?"
"NO, SPAWN ISN'T HERE!!"
This was a two sided attraction, something way different than how we have it over here at Disneyland.
how is it different? this ride was closed down and replaced
Another huge difference is how Disneyland’s is dozens of times better
And now it's been replaced with Mr Pooh's wild ride.
That was such a legendary attraction, much better than the Winnie the Pooh ride.
I vaguely recall a kid trying to walk on top of the queue handrails and an operator trying to get there before he fell off. It must have been this time. He would have had to do it quickly so there wouldn't be a car backup on his side of the ride.
I know this was a long time ago, but do you remember what made the ride operator jump up and bolt across the track at 0:35?
My left ear enjoyed this. :P
I can only imagine this person filming with those huge cameras from back then 🤣
1:02 that looks like the hippo from its a small world
1:02 is that the small world hippo??
i think it is
Yes, It Sure Is!
The animal heads in Toad Hall look like they came from Its A Small World.
So this ride was dropped in favor of Winnie the Pooh; well, IMO the character certainly lives up to his name, if you get my drift. This ride was such a classic; Mr. Toad rules.
@AnimeboiMarc
Yeah, and that is why the attraction was fun. Even though I never rode it, just the CA version. I was born too late, I was born in 1999.
widenyourworld What was the light attachment you used to record these?
Great job!
Disneyland's is still running, Hell and all. At least Disney kept one running.
In the 1:03 there is a hippo head, it kinda look like the hippo in the ride “It’s a small world” Africa room
Reference to "The Wind in the Willows" where in the beginning, an illustration can be seen of him hunting an animal. They most likely reused the cast from when they replicated the ride for the Magic Kingdom
This ride was genius.
@AnimeboiMarc
Um, I'm 12 rs old and I knew Mr. Toad when I was 8, or was it 7? Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging.
Did they straight up take you to hell on that ride?
Yes!
Best dark ride ever! besides haunted mansion of course!
I love this ride use to go on it all the time when I was a kid, winnie the pooh is okay.
What a fever dream
Yo! There's Stromboli at 1:23!
I have never road in the ride but it looks really cool! I wish they kept that ride so I could go on it. It looks way cooler than Winnie the Pooh
I wish they would bring this back
what is the difference in track a and b? :) thanks
Both tracks have different scenery
pub scene is law Court and gypsy camp is farm
@@NF-lu3jt don't forget that track B has the police shootout
I cant remember if this ride had similar light levels to pirates of the caribbean or not.
Is this in WDW when it was open?? Cuz its a lot different than the disneyland one
Yep. 1971-1998
@Jozabad
um, maybe he wanted to , I don't know, change places with another operator?
One of the most played parts of this video is of a portrait of a nude red head.
sweet!
Kermit the frog from Sesame Street vs Mr. toad from Disney
Disney owns Kermit the Frog now
On a Disney World special television type of event Kermit the Frog states that Mr. Toad is a cousin of his. I think it was a Christmas parade event from quite a few years ago.
It's a good ride, but is the Hell level really necessary?
@AnimeboiMarc
And yet it remained a popular ride for its entire duration.
The decision to take it out was a greedy one.
It wasn't a high maintenenance affair (like 20,000 Leagues was).
The Pooh ride is a great dark ride in its own right but it misses the creativity and charm of Toad.
What other ride in the history of the world has you die and go to hell as its final movement?
why they replace it? not kid friendly?
What a bizarre ending, you get struck by a train and sent to the fiery pits of hell :L
I don't even know what's going on XD
They should've kept this though
I always took the B track.
Can someone explain the hell part to me? I don't remember that in the movie...
the basic idea is that mr toad obtai,ed a motorcar and breaks the law by making chaos and driving it around. police attempt to stop you so you flea into the railroad tracks, get hit by attain and go to hell after your death. Not really like the movie
I never saw the movie.

2:00 WTF Disney??
There is a pop up ghost laugh from the haunted mansion in the hell part
At 4: 45
To me, the demons sounded like Ginny Tyler (the Witch from Snow White's Adventures.)
You realize you just made a pun? You said "hell" of a ride!
About why I don't like the ride? At the bar
Snow White's and Pinnochio's rides suck! I love Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The short lines make it twice as awesome.
It's not a 'level'. I loved that you went to hell at the end of your reckless journey!
The new version was better if you want to ride this its at Disneyland but a lot changed hope. You get on the new one!
Thats sad the rides gone.
The Scariest Disney Ride
This makes me nostalgic about the 90's. Back when people at Disney were normal families and not a bunch of gangsterish 20-something-year-olds.
A Young Guy Who Likes the Olden Days I'm black and I went as a kid in 95, does that count?
Lol what world are you from?
What the fuck are you even talking about lmao
Did u see the naked girl?

Hey! Don't be talking shit about the Heffalumps and Woozles! That shit was almost like a trip on drugs!
Isn’t this ride a little too much for Disney it’s good in California because it’s both tracks made into 1 Track

Amazing that a Disney ride actually took guests to Hell.
It's literally taking you to Disney's HQ.
I hate the Winnie the poo ride they replaced it with! It’s like he’s on drugs....
2:00 Why would they put a painting like this IN A DISNEY RIDE!? This is just wrong!
Actually, it’s inappropriate.
I disagree but my experience with this ride wasn't exactly magical ^^;
@MichaelSar12IsBack YES BECAUSE OF YOUR WINNIE THE POOH.BRING BACK MR TOAD,BUT DONT REPLACE THE MANY ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH!
It's still at Disneyland, but it looks really low quality, it's mostly just the cardboard cutout-like things and no actual animatronics.

Instead of replacing it they should have refurbished the ride to make it more appropriate then replacing it
2:54 - Isn't that a little to much for Disney standards???
thats why they replaced it.
Hey mark d, if that was the case, then how come the Disneyland version is still open?
