Cheers Wayne, thanks for the awesome feedback, appreciate it a lot. For what it's worth, the bush makes it easy to showcase, enjoy getting out and about ✌🏻
Tell me about it, but that's the fun of camping, you never know what you're going to get served up. Always just make the most of it. Thanks for stopping by, appreciate it ✌🏻
All the best for your trip, Chris. Wish I could download our many learnings travelling in and around Rome and northern Italy but part of the fun is making your own way. As I said in a previous comment, you inspired me to take up swag camping and I’m in my late 60s so it’s never too late. Hope the cruise works out well for you and Mrs Chris. Definitely not my thing but then again my better half likes it whereas she just doesn’t do any sort of camping. So, I suppose it’s win-win for both of us.
Totally a win-win. The nice side though is I just love being out doing things regardless of how it is happening. If I am alone I like bush and animals, if I am with the family I like cafes and concerts. Experiences are precious whatever form I reckon. Yes, looking forward to learning how life is in Rome and Italy in general. That will be half the fun, I am practicing how to order un caffe per favore in preparation 🙂 Thanks for checking in once again, stay safe and enjoy your swag while I am bouncing around in apartments✌🏻
@@outandabout_oz Thanks Chris. Hope you get some nice apartments, they tend to be a bit squishy in Rome. Here’s a couple of tips for you: typical Italian breakfast, especially when you’re on the go is an espresso and a brioche at a local ‘bar’ (which is a cafe, not a pub). Taken at the counter; they charge you more for sit down service.
@@ClaudeMorson cheers, good to know about the having to pay more. Yeah, we got the impression the apartments were a bit tight, especially with three of us. Hopefully they will really only be about sleeping 😛 ✌🏻
cheers mate, getting cold all over the place! Yeah, should be a cracker spending a few weeks up there. Been a long wait! Thanks for watching once again, have a great few weeks ✌🏻
totally different, not doubt pack on a few kilos too! Should be fun. Thanks for watching once a again, appreciate you taking a minute to leave a comment ✌🏻
Nice one Chris - ‘reset’ is such a good word for this sort of thing. Enjoy Europe. We are in the UK now and will be heading over to Provence France next week for a few weeks. Unfortunately the weather in the UK is much like Sydney at the moment but France should be warmer. Nice to get away to the longer days though.
Beautiful camping area! I haven’t yet purchased a swag, but I’m probably going to go with the 900. I plan to get a cot too, & put both in the bed of my truck for a budget overland camping setup. Have a nice vacation!
good plan, I was looking at options for that too. I have a dual cab so the tray is a bit short so I gave up, but it makes a lot of sense. A mate of mine uses has swag on a cot and swears by it, thinks I am an idiot for sleeping on the ground. He might have a point 😛 I am also looking at getting a 900 swag of some sort too and will try and find the lightest one. I figure I can ditch the foam matress, add an air pad and make it more like a bedroll so I can be a bit mobile with it and not rely on the car. Maybe a spring-summer project ✌🏻
@@outandabout_oz I measured the bed of my truck & I think it should work with the tailgate down. If not, no matter…I’ll just sleep on the cot on the ground!
@@chriscon8463 makes sense, the tailgate on my ute is one of those crappy aluminium ones that folds down 180degrees so wouldn't work....ground works too ✌🏻
I love the way you reset, Chris! Good video. By all means, get away and forget about this stuff for a while. Please, eat some pasta for me while in Italy! Sounds like a potentially awesome time. We'll miss you while you're gone, but we will look forward to your return, and we'll really look forward to some amazing stories. Take care, and all of my best wishes to you, Chris! Cheers, mate! P.S. I've just spent 3 nights in my new 23 Zero 1100 dual swag. It's a great piece of kit. Thank you for exposing me to it. It sure beats the Kodiac Swag I've been using! Cheers!
Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying the new swag. You'll get years out of it. Thanks also for the positive comment and good wishes, always nice to hear people are enjoying my little offering. Can't wait for the Mediterranean food, I love pasta but steer clear of it as a general rule but I am sure I'll pack on a few pounds regardless. Keep smiling, stay safe and yep, be back in a few weeks ✌🏻
no, I have never really felt the need. I have camped with mates who use them and swear by them, but I kind of like being on the ground. I am not getting younger though, so might think differently soon 😛 Thanks for watching and thanks for dropping me a comment, appreciate it ✌🏻
Chris, what did you shake over your bedding? Nice dinner Checkout the sunset behind you. Awesome, Italy. Not a fan of Cruises, but enjoy Chris. Nothing like a real espresso coffee maker, Like a true Italian! 🙏🏼 🤠 👍🏼 🌿 ⛺
Heya Jo Jo, yeah cruises aren't everyone's cup of tea and I have never been on one, so be interesting to see how it goes. The sunsets this time of year are always pretty good, shame it was a bit tough out in the wind that really never let up...made the Audi a bit tricky and had to cut a lot of chatter out....probably a good thing 😛 I sprinkle some essential oil around each time I set up. Swags get a bit stuffy when locked away for a few weeks, helps 🙂 Have a great few weeks, I'll be sure to check in on your adventures while I am away ✌🏻
thanks 4 the vid, had a swag camp early this week, bloody awning got condensation and dripped on2 the swag waking me up .........always something, last time it was magpies and sheep hahah. have a good cruise mate.
ha ha ha, yeah magpies can be a bit noisy as the sun comes up, not a bad way to wake up though! Never a bad time getting out in the swarm glad you get the chance too. Thanks for dropping in and taking a minute to check in, appreciate it ✌🏻
Love a good swag camp :) Shame about the wind, but the location looked great and dinner really looked delicious! Your trip sounds super exciting. I hope you have an amazing time. Stay safe and thanks for sharing another adventure with us :)
Yeah, the trip will be awesome, been a long wait to get here, fly out in a couple of days! The dinner was pretty good, not a patch on the wonders you pull together, but always fun trying a different option. Thanks for checking back in, I'll be sure an keep an eye out for your videos while I am away, have fun ✌🏻
cheers mate and thanks for watching. It's a bog-standard tarp I bought from Bunnings about 4 years ago. Cost about $20 and have gone pretty hard, still in good nick ✌🏻
Chris all your videos are top class mate. You inspire old blokes like me to get out in the bush and enjoy nature.

Enjoy the break Chris. Italy is fab, good coffee and Rome is such an easy city to get around.
Thanks for sharing 👍
yeah can't wait, been practicing vorrei un caffè, per favore 😛 Thanks for dropping by ✌🏻

Great set up and enjoy the trip, but just wanted to ask have you ever considered using a stretcher under the swag? If not, what made you decide that?
