Seriously. There is plenty of LIDAR data of stream, lakes and rivers. I wonder if the thickness of water interferes?

Should I believe that no one in the town that is near the ruins knew it was there? Its not far from large town? As always, its not found until some name Luke "discovers" them.

Colonialism destroyed and enslaved the local population, the towns and cities are deserted and nature took over for centuries. How is that hard to believe? Even now people forget about abandoned mining villages not even a hundred years old.

The thing is that the city is buried and in the middle of the jungle.

I’ve spent some time working on a professional land survey crew, along with backwoods orienteering, you’d be shocked how much can be hidden in terrain when you view it from the ground. There’s only so much you can see on your own two feet, and if these ruins were as buried as it’s being claimed, it’s not inconceivable that someone from a “nearby village” could walk through the place completely blind to patterns visible only from a top down 3d scan that Lidar tech makes possible

The people from the land know but the white man is always wanting to claim things that don't belong to them.. there not just cities .. there full with magic and some are even cursed

Hmm... I saw a documentary on this years back so LIDAR discovering more Mayan ruins isn't new, but I guess it wasn't mainstream news at the time.

While the majority of Mexico is in North America, what separates the Yucatan peninsula and the Maya highlands with the rest of the continent is the Isthmus of Tepehuantepec. In a way that part of Mexican territory is in Central America based on geography.

Some say all of Mexico is North America (USA. Canada Mexico )
Some cut Mexico in half and call top-half-Mexico North america.
      🤷‍♂️

lol this video is so factually incorrect. 1. LIDAR of the Mayan jungle has been done since the 90s. 2. LIDAR has been used repeatedly to discover other Mayan cities, there were discoveries literally 4 years ago. 3. This journalist clearly didn’t even bother to GOOGLE the topic or she would’ve seen a dozen discoveries of using LIDAR in the Central American jungle.

Nephi 6:7 And it came to pass that there were many cities built anew, and there were many old cities repaired.
8 And there were many highways cast up, and many roads made, which led from city to city, and from land to land, and from place to place.
