Didn’t know one would affect the other. Really cool! Plus I got to know what that mercury filled tube contraption hanging on your shelf! So cool! Always something to learn. Keep it up!!!!
I was doing this for someone else, but would figure that a better running bike should get better mpg. I don’t know what the scheduled interval is for carb syncing, should be in the manual.
Saw this vid and brought the carb tool I’ve a ktm 950sm 2007 my happy point was 7 on warm idle but think my carbs need more tuning as it’s crap to start in the cold
Hi Tom, I’m new to fiddling with my bike. So far I have fixed the deformation at my fuel tank where the fuel sensor goes in, tensioned my chain, installed a usb charger on the acc2 outlet and readjusted the rear brake peg so it doesn’t have too much travel without doing anything. I have a KTM 950SM and I want to see if my carbs need balancing since I have the feeling it can run a bit smoother (I ordered the tool you used in the video). The question that popped up is, how do I make sure the engine keeps getting fuel with the fuel tank removed? After removal, do I reconnect the fuel hose to the engine or is there another way. Thanks a lot btw on making these great videos! Kind regards, Tico
There are a few ways to do this. The easiest is to buy an auxiliary tank, they are about a quart and can be hung from the handlebars or the overhead. I have had some homemade ones over the years, a gear oil bottle works well.
Hello Tom. Awesome video! So I purchased the sync tool, but the rubber boot is too small for the 990. It looks like my FI bike has 2.25 diameter intakes. What did you use to compensate for the large intake size? Thanks!
Thanks for watching. I guess the carburetor bike must have a smaller intake, it fit fine. I’m sure with some thinking you can come up with some sort of spacer/gasket/adapter.
Thanks for this lesson! Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!

Your GSXR can be balanced as well. Some day....
Superb 👌🏾
Thanks for watching
donde consigo ese vacuómetro, es muy practico
You can buy them online or at many auto parts stores. Thanks for watching.
Did you notice any difference in fuel consumption after that? How often does the 950's carb need attention, like adjustment or cleaning?

@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I just spent some time on eBay, and purchased a silicone turbo reducer. Hope it works. 👍🏽
@@aimlessimages831 I will keep that in mind when I work on an injected model.
