Devon call change ringing is by far the most beautiful form of British bell ringing. I love how hypnotising and relaxing the repeating patterns are. SO much better than method ringing. God bless you all
where'er this wonderful team takes up a circle of ropes - 6,8,10 or twelve bells the results are a joy to listen to - our "scientific" change ringers take notice. Close handstrokes are hard to maintain. These bells are gorgeous anyway! Thanks very enjoyable.
not being offensive or anything but the first thing that Devon church bell ringers is how to raise and lower in peal - i only say that is because they are brilliant at raising and lowering!!
Yes they really raise bells better than anyone else. I would love to see how they go at Liverpool Cathedral. Also do Devon call changer ringers do this exclusively or do they do method ringing too.
Steven, most of us ring call changes exclusively, however, there are many who are also affiliated to the Guild of Devonshire ringers and therefore also ring method, there are at least 3 ringing in this that do
@@ryantrout6094 I must admit I don't particularly like call changes, Devon style or otherwise. It's not because I am some superior ringer because I am not. I think I prefer the sound of constant changes and also it so keeps your mind focussed . However I must admit I do like ringing the tenor to Stedman on 10 and 12 as it allows me to tune out as I love listening to the way there is almost two things happening , you have the smaller bells dancing around and through the back 5 and yet the back 5 at also changing and the change of pattern is dominant. I'm certainly no 12 bell ringer that is for sure.

I prefer normal British bell ringing but Devon ringing is nice too.

Nice sound from outside👌👌
I have to say the clock room needs a good tidying.
There’s a Roblox version of this church in Roblox called realistic bells it’s really cool but the tower is fictional but the bells are the same.
The tenor at Maidstone always goes up wrong and i am wondering if with 3 hefty Devon ringers they made naged to get it up right?
