Mine too. Vintage rules! I had an old minibike from the 70s, and I put in a Honda 90 engine and trans from a wrecked ATC. 4 speeds, automatic, plus high and low range! Best minibike ever, I wish I still had it.

    RE: PINK NITROMETHANE FUEL-
When I was around 11 or 12, I always wanted a remote control airplane (I got the kind with the string attached.) No runway, no way to learn to fly without smashing to the ground, pieces flying like shrapnel. Saved tiny engines and pint sized glass jars of fuel. Several crashes, whole kit cheaper than repair (getting to pink fuel point...) My friend had 5hp engine, me- 3-1/2 hp engine. Can't remember how I got it in my head to start blending fuel at that age, but HOLY CRAP!!
Took a few tries to get the mixture, several burnt pistons, rings, valves, my dad refusing to repair them anymore, a small engines course through 4-H...voila!
The envy of the neighborhood! I sure miss those days. Keep having fun guys, and keep the videos videos rollin'?

For twisting square steel like half inch mild steel or flat bar perfectly and evenly every time measure the piece you want make sure it’s longer because it’s going to shrink when you twist it put one end in a vice find a piece of pipe that fits fairly well over that piece of steel sitting in the vice with a bit sticking out the end grab a great big adjustable wrench put it on the end of the piece of steel sticking out of the pipe and start twisting count your twists that way you can bend several pieces up and they will all be the same that way it comes out with The twisting straight and even it looks like it’s been done with some sort of a machine we used to do it all the time for decorative rot iron and it worked beautifully it takes a little bit of grunt but do not think you can heat it up to make it easier unless you think you can heat that piece of steel up perfectly evenly the same way every time just put your back into it and start twisting do a couple of test pieces first because both ends end up getting a little messed up when you’re done and I mean the piece that was stuck in the rice and the wrench but the stuff that’s inside of the pipe ends up perfect if you want to go four full twists you’re gonna have to probably twist it 4 1/2 twist because it will spring back practice makes perfect and trust me it works 👍🏻

    • @600wheel
      @600wheel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

PS when you find a piece of pipe to fit over your steel it has got to be loose enough that it won’t hang up the steel when it’s twisting and it will become a little bit looser when you’re twisting because like I said everything shrinks when you’re done twisting it slide that piece of pipe off and you will be shocked at just how perfect it actually is the only times we run into problems were when we bought steel but it wasn’t very high-quality and you would get soft spots in it and that would screw us up so as long as you’re using decent quality mild steel it works perfect every time works good with stainless too but sometimes if you’re using smaller steel like quarter inch square you have to weld a nut on the end to give the wrench some thing to grab

I just built a 110cc 4 speed semiautomatic Baja warrior over the weekend. Stock warrior 50 tooth sprocket was too large even with the 18 inch tires. Had a super pocket bike 32 tooth sprocket that I drilled out the proper hole pattern for the hub and grinded out the center hole "it'll be fine" style with a bench grinder. 1st is still very short but second is better and Thurs is better as well. May upgrade too an 18 tooth front sprocket but I love it!

idea re: sprocket alignment: get a laser line projector (not a laser level - you want a laser line you can position - or rig up a standard laser pointer to a drill so it spins and projects a line) and a couple music equipment rigging stands and arms. Then you can project a line across the teeth on both sprockets.

Three easy ways to line up the chain. 1 Laser Level beam inline. 2 Stiff straight Edge yard stick or anything thin and strong with a straight edge on it. 3 Put the chain on it and the rear while as centered as you can get it. Roll it or the back wheel with the engine loose. the chair will pull the engine straight but it has to be tight enough to give some resistance(Motor Mounts) Just some things I have done.

That thing is super sweet! I'd like to build one just like it, I'd leave the gears the way they are.gor the areas I play that super slow 1st would be perfect!. Very cool build guys!

That is totally legit. Lookin' forward to updates on this bike. Love to see what it can do with a bit higher gearing.
    4 speed!

I wonder if a needle scaler would let you shock a part like the exhaust pipe in a non destructive way. A pneumatic hammer will do the job but they just destroy stuff.

The term is called galvinization between aluminum and steel. Also get a yard stick and lay it flat against the rear spocket. See if the other end touches the front sprocket on the same side. Then you know its lined up

I always had this idea also lol. But this seems to be pretty decent, up here in the PNW it's very wet and muddy. But the torque from those engines is real good for a 15 inch wide rear mud tire

A heads up for you oxygen cylinder valve needs to be in the full open because oxygen cylinder's have a flash back arrester built in the valve, but it only works when the valve is fully open.

Build a 3wheeler that will fit a man 6'2" tall or taller.
With the spring seat about knee height. Wide fat tires on the back like the one you already built and tall front wheel. Ape hanger handlebars. Black & Chrome EVERYTHING!

I always put a chain on to check alignment. Like Charles said you can see on the chain if it's to far one way or another.

Congrats John , this is the 2nd time you've been close to a slit, the first time was around 30 years ago I'm guessing ( when you was born) I bet this time was a better experience since it wasn't your momma, it was on a minibike, a little human/machin interaction, xxx

    Bimetalic, galvanic corrosion sir.
Also. you are a better man than I. I could never do CAD on a laptop track pad. I can barely use the OS with it.

Connect the chain and start to tension it makes it way easier in my opinion dealing with something like that can't wait for the prix

Nice! There's always something to be said to be able to shoot a video from the frame up to the first test ride! Awesome build, and it's definitely a great idea for people who say happen to have a Honda 50-125cc engine laying around. A mini bike or even a mini trike you can easily build for almost nothing if you happened to have a mostly complete runner from a wrecked chassis or other issues. One of the most reliable sources of power for the money Honda ever made, and I guess that's why it's been copied and cloned all over the world? They were just simple and compact for what you have, anything with a clutch system and transmission is going to require much more Space with the engine, so yeah it's a total package tried and true! Very cool build guy's, as always be safe down there in NC, hopefully I can get out of Shit hole NYS before I'm dead SMFH!
