Rigveda had 21 shakhas (branches), of which only two remain (Shakala and Bhashkala) now;
Yajurveda had 101 shakhas of which only two remain (Shukla and Krishna) now;
Samaveda had 1000 shakhas, of which only three remain (Kautuma, Raanaayaneeya and Jaimini) now,
Atharvaveda had 9 shakhas, of which only one remains (Shaunakiya) now.

The thing is that every ancient culture across the world in their curiosity, thought and created machines that would make them fly just like the birds even if they didnt work but their descendants are not as delusional as people out here. The other thing is that scientific theories and inventions don't just happen at once. Even the modern craft shown in this video is culmination of several decades of work by many people. It's not just one invention, it's a 1000 inventions and theories working together in tandem to make it possible as opposed to a vague wooden, water tank looking thing that won't survive a second in the atmosphere during re-entry.

These type of contents with no proper idea about how science works is making Indian historical literature look joke to the world.
Ever since humans started to learn things, they were motivated by nature. Science is not exceptional to this (observation from the nature and questioning why things occur in a particular way?).
Coming to aircrafts or things which can fly are motivated by birds. Almost all of the ancient Civilizations tried to mimic the birds, and there are plenty of literature available to this topic. For example, Leonardo Da Vincci's drawings (this might be relatively later era compared to ancient Rome). Some of the other Civilizations also mentioned existence of a flying objects. Another example from Mayan Civilization leads us to believe aircrafts were used in that era, with the evidence of coins crafted with aircraft models; does it prove Mayans are the first to invent aircrafts?
The credit for flying first aircrafts goes to Wright Brothers is simply because, they were able to demonstrate to the public using scientific knowledge. I'm not saying earlier mentions about aircrafts lacks with scientific methods, but rather they aren't systematic to new age science writings.
I do believe very advanced engineering work has been done in the past in every Civilizations that lived on this planet, but the way how you support your argument makes it to believe in science community. Simply quoting some verses of Vedas or some books not going to help until such mentions can be verified independently from anyone who has basic understanding of how science works. Come up with an example where somebody demonstrated the methods mentioned in the Vedas which is legitimate. Just stating an example doesn't guarantee the method is correct. It needs proper documentation how it is modeled? Where and when it is experimented? Does the results assures proper behavior of the variables of interests in every time? Can it be repeated elsewhere on the planet with the same principles? If someone can answer these questions who claims they found the evidence of flying objects in ancient literature, then go on to present these topics to the public.
Ancient Indian scripts are gold but meanwhile it needs proper scrutiny. Simply we can't claim everything we have in today's technological world was once existed in the past!! Isn't it?

Yes Britishers are the main cause for the destructions of our literatures.
I read about one incident when the Britishers attacked a university in Bihar, they made a heave of all the literatures and started burning it. It is said that there was such large amount of literatures in that university that the fire was continuously blazing for a month. And this is a story of single university's library and there were number of libraries present at that time. So I conclude that India was never behind in any field compared to the western world but it was for long ruled by foreigner king who only wanted to exploit this golden bird.
In today's time we may say that we are independent but to speak the truth the Britishers came in India took away everything and destroyed our culture and made us like them.
We wear the western outfit, want to live life like westerners do, follow there footstep.
So its the time to think where we stand as country's culture and heritage is still getting destroyed and I m afraid this time because we are the cause of our own cultural destruction.
