  • Spontaneous trips are often the best especially when they occur due to the discovery of a very cheap flight deal. I headed to Beziers with little knowledge about this medieval city in Occitanie (one of the oldest in France!) and was delighted with what I found.
    Join me as I explore this beautiful and charming little town including tours of a cathedral once sacked during a brutal crusade, a scenic park dedicated to famous French writers and the historic town itself practically untouched by tourism.

    Really enjoyed the video, never done anything in France but think we’ll do Beziers on the back of this - I’ll give that pizza guy a dig on the way past for ya 🤣 cheers Andy 🍻

      Thanks mate appreciate that! I definitely recommend Beziers one of the best hidden gems I've ever experienced, the town oozes charm it's just lovely and the locals are dead nice. Haha enacting vengeance on the pizza guy would be very appreciated. That sucked and I was robbed!

    I've worked in Beziers at the Cameron BOP factory. What a delightful town and great people. I was once there for the bull fighting festival, although I saw no actual bull fighting the atmosphere was amazing.

      That's cool! Was that recent or a while ago? My visit to Beziers was actually just a few days after the festival I believe. Would have been interesting to see.

      @@andyptv1996I've lived and worked near Béziers since 1989. I've been to two bullfighting events - one was Spanish style with the bullfighter on foot and the bull killed in the ring and one Portuguese style with the bullfighter on horseback and the bull killed after the fight with a bolt gun in its dressing room 😮.
      At the beginning of the Portuguese one there are acrobats called forcados who tease the bull 🐂 and try not to get spiked.
      One ended up in an ambulance but the humans still won 😊. +1👍

    Where's the video on the 1* Michelin restaurant in Béziers 😢 😮? I can't find it on your channel. 👍

    • @andyptv1996

      Regretably I did not film it. Back then I seldom filmed inside restaurants as I wasn't yet comfortable, I didn't know how people would react but since then I have realised there is a respectful way to do so!

    Hey bro! I like the concept behind your channel. As a fellow growing content creator, I wish you best of luck in growing your channel! I won't critique your video too much, but I have to tell ya: if you're going to do a raw vlog video with no music, you definitely need to get a windscreen for your camera. The wind muffling gets pretty distracting since you don't have music to mask the sound. Keep it up though!

    • @andyptv1996
      @andyptv1996  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello mate! Thanks for the kind words and I understand your comment about the wind, I actually considered that myself while watching it back, so it is a very valid point. Your feedback is much appreciated as is your time watching the video.

      @@andyptv1996 yeah man no problem! Again I like the concept of adventure in a random town. Yes for the wind and your style of vlogging, it's best to get a wireless lavlier mic with a wind foam on it. But if you don't feel like spending the money, you can always put music on top of the video to make the wind sound less harsh.

    Fun video mate. We’re looking at going in July. What happened to the michilen stared restaurant?

      Thank you! I definitely recommend it, such a charming town. I went to the restaurant but didn't film my experience, which I should have done. Was an amazing dinner but the most stuffed I've been from a tasting menu!

    Hi, would you have the link to the accommodation you stayed at, and how long of a walk is it into the centre of town?

    • @andyptv1996
      @andyptv1996  ปีที่แล้ว

      www.booking.com/hotel/fr/jardin-de-coubertin.html?aid=304142 that was the link I used but when I went to check for you it says they aren't taking bookings through that site anymore however I'd imagine they will be available elsewhere if you just google jardin de coubertin beziers. If I remember correctly it took me about 10/15 minutes maybe to get into town from there.

    I have been there cute little place 😊
    I used to love travelling. Do it while you can.
    The French don’t rise until after lunchtime 😂
    Was the pizza your Michelin star meal 😮 I can’t swallow French cheese it’s always stringy thick, but the bread is amazing!

    • @andyptv1996
      @andyptv1996  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has to be one of the best places that I've travelled to with no knowledge of. Those are my favourite trips. Yeah, the place was a ghost town until at least the afternoon. Although there was a lot of vehicle traffic passing through! No, the pizza was absolutely not the Michelin star meal, I'd swear off the guide if it was haha! I didn't vlog at the restaurant as it can be a bit awkward filming in a high-end restaurant, but I took a few photos which I've just started to post on my Instagram profile (which is almost exclusively dedicated to food).

      I foolishly decided not to film as I wasn't as comfortable filming inside fancy restaurants back then. Now, I've gotten over it and have several videos in Michelin restaurants showing my experience!
