The title is rubbish, Scheckter is a Legend, find another F1 World Champ that has also made a success in the world of Business post F1 retirement. As for "mad man", pure no-bullshit talent, rare today.
That’s why they gave him the nickname Fletcher from Johnathon Livingstone Seagull Jody was trying to fly before he could run any way he was a good Champion and one nice man as well
Why do you show the two P34 pics with Peterson and Depailler.....can't u find a pic with Jody ? And what's with this 'darkside' shite ? Jody is a wonderful bloke.
he was a sergeant in the South African military, then a f1 driver very agressive who changed a lot after the accident of Cevert, in 1974 he was fighting for the championship and so did too in the 77, in 79 won it for Ferrari but he was quite adamant because he thought it was Reutemann's title and not deserved by him, , in 80 and 81 he did bad seasons and retired... to run a military factory in USA, and now is running a net of ecological farms in UK... what a life.
@@derekwoods6663 Word in the paddock in South Africa in the early eighties was that Ian was actually better than Jody. He was certainly totally dominant in Atlantic's.
Nothing against Scheckter and glad he had a happy life post F1.However, I did witness the 1973 British GP in which he caused absolute chaos and damage ( luckily only one serious casualty! )- he tried to rival the aces by trying to take Woodcote flat and failed. I would believe Fittipaldi’s account of the French GP. I do know the circs of Cevert’s fatal accident at Watkins Glen. However, I do wonder if Cevert’s bruised ankles sustained in the preceding Canadian GP as a result of an accident with Scheckter had some bearing on Cevert’s fitness that final day. Imho. 🤔 😢 7
Wasn't the case that Cevert tried 4th instead of 3rd gear in that corner and failed ( as Stewart said and warned him just before the accident) was it? This conversation with Cevert is here on yt... I live like 20 miles from Scheckter's farm...
I was at Silverstone that day too. Andrea de Adamich was the driver that came off worst, being trapped in his car for quite a while with leg injuries. the team that suffered the most was Surtees, with three of the works cars being trashed. i was at Monaco to see Scheckter win in his Wolf in 1977.
Stewart said that he believed Cevert's accident to be caused by a bump on the entrance to the corner which unsettled the car. He had gone to the scene of the accident and though he withdrew from the race, went out to ascertain the cause of the accident. 'Sure enough' , he says in the interview, ' there was the bump'.
This should go in the click-bait hall of fame.
It’s the only way F1 Icons get views on YT, disrespectful clickbait garbage.

Nelson Piquet did just that.
What DARK SIDE was this and what precisely did his manager reveal?
That’s why they gave him the nickname Fletcher from Johnathon Livingstone Seagull Jody was trying to fly before he could run any way he was a good Champion and one nice man as well
Yup you're right!
Why do you show the two P34 pics with Peterson and Depailler.....can't u find a pic with Jody ? And what's with this 'darkside' shite ? Jody is a wonderful bloke.
There are just a couple of details that I personally didn't like about Jody, in general, but there's no dark side at all.
It’s odd watching something about a man I know. Not entirely correct about him as a person I’m afraid.
Clickbait title and absolute garbage. Looking for views and likes rather do a in depth review.
Jody was a reckless racer in his early days, but so was Gilles Villeneve, he's teammate in late 70s.
The title is just clickbait

Volevi dire che pensava che il titolo nell 79 lo meritava Gilles Villeneuve. Correva con Gilles...no con Reutemann.
You use a picture of Lauda in Ferrari instead of Scheckter in his actual team. This is a poor video with nothing new to share.
He was great racing driver ever even nowadays
F1 LEGEND❤
His brother Tim was dominant in Formula Atlantic in South Africa in the early eighties.i
Jody had a brother Ian who was the Formula Atlantic king in SA, and also drove in F1. As for "TIM" that's a new one on me .
@@derekwoods6663 I stand corrected Ian Scheckter not Tim , my apologies.

Whatever, he had a daft haircut.
